For a guy that once said he had to drink an entire bottle of champagne when he was 20 years old because he was so freaked out going out on stage in front of all these people, and he wasn't even the front man! Well, he sure looks comfortable nowadays!
He sure does
You know, I never knew he really sang like that and all that time in the Smiths they never did any vocal harmonies that just seems kind of wild
Turn u into a alcoholic
the greatest melodic guitarist on earth.
He’s a darn good’un
Johnny you are a fantastic singer, song writer, guitarist , perfomer a legend in Pop history !!!
100% agree!!
the beautiful, cool and sensible guitarist !! great !!
True - couldn’t put it better myself!!

JMFM, actually
Easy money is such an underrated tune
Yes but when played live = brings the house down
Still amazing! Unreal! Guy gets better with age! Well done Johnny! 😊🇨🇦😊
Agreed!
I was there as well that Friday it was great to hear both him and Noel Gallagher play that day
Yes it definitely was - we were very lucky - a day to remember!!
I am in the video at the beginning of 'Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want'. Anyone knows the Keyboardist name? I had a good chat with him before curfew
Seeing Noel Gallagher on Sunday at Hardwick Festival, and Johnny is on before him there too. Did he join NG during his set for any of Noels new sogns that he played?
@@MJ-1973 No guest appearances for either chap. Enjoy both sets!
Cheers. Saw both JM and NG sets on Sunday gone, and whilst I mainly went for Noel, really enjoyed Johnny's set too, but as stated, they didn't guest on each other sets this time either. @@DJVUK
Absolutely masterful, I only wish it was a 4.5 hour show with 40 tracks and banter😅I love him and his band so much, my drug of choice.😂😊❤️✌🏻JOHNNY FUCKING MARR🎉
Agreed. Glad u njoy!
What a f*****g great man! Electronic (!) and I Feel You … look at this attitude!!
Agreed. Have you clocked he’s touring next April..?!
@@DJVUK … no, not in UK, tell him to join some gigs in Italy ;)
Had the great pleasure last Sunday watching Mr Marr and Noel Gallagher as the headline act. Absolutely brilliant show they both put on.LEGENDS
Well, yes.
The Master. Big thanks from Brazil.
Agreed. De nada.
Thanks for recording. Was there and also saw him Tunbridge Wells the day before. Still putting out great tunes in his 50s. Johnny Fucking Marr

Agreed. HSIN has some wicked licks, ditto Easy Money

Thank you so much!! This is amazing ❤❤ The band was so great, glad you recorded the whole thing ♡♡
Cheers. It was an amazing set from a living legend.
@@DJVUK It sure was. Did you record High Flying Birds as well?
@@dannybhoy7224 for sure filmed a decent amount of Noel, check my YT channel.
Thank you for this 👏❤️✌🏻
With pleasure. Rock on.

Nice one - much appreciated. Ideally this would be split into chapters for easy navigation, but haven’t learned how yet.
@DJVUK Hey, I've just come back from J Marr gig in Liverpool, which was amazing! I put this on when I got back to show my brother your vid and saw that you've managed to split the chapters, ahh well done my friend!👏 Thank you 👍
@@Moonstone115 cheers. Turns out adding the time-marks into the description automatically places chapter-points on the vid - who knew?
great footage, thanks for capturing
You are welcome. Hopefully by holding my phone directly in front of my face = minimize the uncool factor.
Thank you so much for posting this whole incredible set!
You are most welcome. It is/was incredible!!
I was there and so awesome to see it again. Thanks
@@soleplate Glad you enjoy. The longer I filmed, the more I realized I *had* to film the entire set.
Saw them at t wells last week awesome!
@@royblackman8778 Fantastic - living legend.
I was there! Swansea lad.... the tall good looking one.
I was there, too…the not so tall not so good looking one.
When I think back to being 21 in the early nineties and the serious money I spent on The Smiths and Morrissey VHS bootlegs!!!
THANK YOU for uploading this. An absolute joy.
Ya, this is a solid hour of music by bootleg standards
@@DJVUK nah man, this is way beyond bootleg standard.
Yeah man, when I think of the quality of some of the VHS videos I used to watch compared to anything on YT these days it's just amazing how much the world has changed.
Well obviously lol. What else could I do in 1992?
I reckon it's in Johnny's band's contract that they're never allowed to smile.
Well, the band certainly complies!!
Thanks!!! I wish I was there but I was working in Italy and couldn't make it... 😢😢😢
Welcome. Sit back and enjoy the show - hopefully catch the lovely fellow some time.
Please please please come back to the States. #FloridaFan
For now he’s touring the UK next Spring. If you can swing it (admittedly a big ‘if’), you would love it
impresionante el alma the smiths
Mui impresionante
Wish I could've seen him in concert somewhere.couldnt get tickets anywhere close to home.
Hope you get a chance to see him sometime!
Cheers for the upload 👍👍👍
With pleasure

Truly a living legend. A ‘world treasure’ (not just a national treasure).
31:35 more of that guitar sound please bro. Some innane old smiths stuff. Break out wit the new bruz. ty 4 music
JM is a tone wizard.
Song name?
'How soon is now' bro
good to see johnny marr helping johnny greenwood with a gig (on keys) since radiohead are being dormant
Haha ya Marr/Johnny is nice like that
The best Irish guitarist England ever had.
He certainly does embrace his Mancunian roots, fwiw
@@DJVUK Certainly yes, it was meant to be more like a funny fact.
@@velkyvezir1841 8-)
Brazil ??????
That would be amazing
Please come to japan
Hopefully your wish is fulfilled.
And Florida
he's too cool for school.
Possibly even cooler than that
Thailand?
Whai not?!
Wait did they built this stage in front of the laptop? Like on the pond?
Exactly correct.
Saw him with the Smiths and Modest Mouse.
Saw him with The The. Never gets old.
Who needs Morrissey when you have Johnny Marr?
I was hoping for New Town Velocity😕
Hopefully he plays London again soon.
Who are the band members please?
Don’t know, didn’t find anything online?
In a way, it's kind of ironic to see him strutting around with his guitar down to his knees and doing all this gesticulating in a rock and roll style. It was everything that he was against when he started, and how he formed his completely original Style!
Very interesting point. He is so fluid in his motions and shapes, seems a natural expression of his passion for the instrument. At least he sticks to his ‘tone over pyrotechnics’ m.o.
I think he does it with a wink though. Also being a front person means you can’t just stand there and play. He knows he’s got to give people something to look at as well. He’s a really engaging musician.
00:34:59
Nice one - guitar raised up…classic JM move.
Do you know? I chanted "Johnny Fucking Marr" down the front, and no one joined in. Down the front, no one chanted at ANY point
If I'd have been there I'd of joined ya JOHNNY FUCKIN MARR,!!!!!!!!! 👍
@@jonathansteadman7935 I fucking wish others did. I think, you can hear me chant it as he approaches the microphone. Fucking idiots near me just looked at me like I pissed on their plants
There was some mild ‘Johnny!’ chanting down front but nothing epic.
@@DJVUK Where you were, yeah. Where I was right by the barrier. Nothing
@@dannybhoy7224 We all enjoyed a master at work.
Hi Hello.. a good song..makes me think the singing takes away from his guitar playing. He is an exceptionally tasteful creative guitar player and if he had a good singer ..
someone as good as Liam..would a been really good. If someone else was singing he'd be pouring his creativity into the guitar playing .
Points well taken. Flip side: his singing is not his calling card, but it frees him to express himself in a more fulsome manner
should team up with moz, these songs are too good to be wasted on his lyrics
That’s a big ask, a very big ask. But would be amazing
Where was Rick Astley?
🙉🙉🙊
Still @ Glasto?
I love how Johnny and Morrissey refuse to consider a Smiths reunion because, ‘why go over old ground’ then proceed to each play sets full of Smiths songs. I guess with Andy gone it’s never going to happen anyway.
We’ll there songs, and there are bands…
Their, not there...
Not there and not their, there ARE...@@lovalonband
This gig was a double A-side. Marr then Gallagher.
Yes it really was. Now you can see Noel @ Wembley next month and Johnny next April @ Hammersmith…
Well, I guess there had to be a reason why he didn't do vocals with the Smiths...
Similar reason Dave Grohl only drummed w/N: know your role…
Oh the muted crowd know Smiths songs...LOL...
Well ya, but solo JM tunes were all well received
Guitar being out of tune during easy money isnt helping my ocd problem
Hmm, well…they still rock the house!
What a boring crowd but hey that’s London for ya .
Well ya, not much crazed yelling, but the crowd definitely enjoyed Mr. Marr.
DaY time shows blow
The same songs over and over again... It is a pity because the last album is great.
Agreed solo Marr is superb. He’s mentioned ‘the hits’ bring a lot of joy played live, fwiw.
Such a shame that Marr has an unremarkable singing voice.
Ya, vocals may not be his calling card but I find them quite enjoyable, confident and entirely complementary to the notes he+band play.
Johnny there is no denying you are a great guitarist but you fucked up big time splitting up the Smiths
A great tradition of legendary British bands breaking up too soon (Beatles, Kinks, Oasis, Blur and of course the Smifs).
They should have sorted themselves out with a manager and not letting Johnny doing it! The Fabs split up at the right time!!
