    • @exiogloupanagiotis7318
      @exiogloupanagiotis7318 Před 4 lety +31

      Yes, I'm pretty sure that was a reference to Sonia and she is canon in the series' timeline, although slightly different than her game counterpart since she is not the first hunter Belmont anymore, but it is Leon Belmont instead. But given that Sonia's birthdate, according to the Castlevania wiki, is 1433 and Trevor's is 1456, it makes perfect sense that he was refering to her.

      Back to Germain, it would be so cool if she was in fact sonia but I dont know given hes pretty freaking old (immortal) and while we dont know the time they met it seems as if they've been together for quite some time..

      Im glad Im not the only one that noticed that little detail, it could be a reference to Sonia, which was at one point the only known female belmont, but also Trevor's mother,. while here she could merely be an ancestor to him, given how casually he talks about "her".

    I'm most interested in Isaac's story, a lot of this season for him really made him contemplate the idea of carrying out Dracula's plan. Sure every act of kindness he came across was almost immediately ruined by human ignorance but still there was kindness. It would be interesting to see if Isaac took the captain's advice and tried ruling and teaching instead of committing mass genocide.

And that in exploring those themes it gives credence to Dracula's initial reasoning for wanting to wipe out humanity. Its only been at most 3 months since Dracula's death (Camilia says as much when she gets back) so there is still time for things to happen and things to change. From how I think they are trying to take Hector's character, is to making him go through hell to hate both humans and monsters (vampyres specifically) to get to a point that would have him trust humanity again. Will this be before or after Isaac sacks Camilia's castle is left to be decided.
      I see why people might hate what they're doing to him but it seems to be for a purpose of they wouldn't have tried to focus on him like they did. The Judge kills anyone he see's unfit in his town, not just kids. He judges people to death through a pitfall trap. Also, judging from the pace of this series, it seems like this will be a long anime, most of the action is grounded, the pacing is slow for character development and you will see current dead/gone characters coming back for sure in the new few seasons. They are establishing character introduction for now in this season. When I 1st saw the Judge I immediately think he is Death (looks like in the game), and death judges lives. Since he is dead and going to hell, I guess it isn't impossible for him to be given the job as the warden of hell. Hectors parts were easily the most interesting, learning more about the quartet and seeing Lenore slowly break down Hectors shell just to turn him into her pet was really interesting and they didnt even need much action. Though I did really like Trevir and Syphas parts especially when it come to Saint Germain, he was such an interesting character and easily my favorite new character. And the end scenes were easily the best. Isaac's scenes were pretty badass and even changed his character a little through his talks with the blind dude, captain, and Flyseyes (that's what the netflix subtitles call him at least) where he decides to leave the city standing so other people, people he once taught to destroy, could live in. Sadly Alucard had the most boring and least impactful parts, it was kind of fun watching him create a new bond, and the siblings were actually interesting characters, but it all really led to a dead end where all the work they put into those scenes was destroyed when they tried to kill Alucard, the only interesting thing about Alucards scenes was his very last, where he becomes an Impaler.

    Towards the end of castlevania 2, there`s an abandoned town with a lone occupant that says something like "don`t look into the death star or you will die". Never made sense, but when Isaac comes across miranda in the village I instantly recalled that part of castlevania 2, especially since she`s the only person there. Similar drab aesthetic, and she`s even sitting like in the game. most of the characters in the game were standing. Obviously that part wasn`t important to the game`s story, but I really do think it`s a reference given the cryptic, mysterious vibe. Am I reaching too far for this one? I did apprecate the connection storydive made to cv2 but feel like it may be even more specific to that part.

      StoryDive The gun looking thing was the lightening stone subweapon from sotn Antigua lightening ring.
      Trevor and turning both whips into an item crash flame whip.
      Sypha learning the Lightening Spell after absorbing the lightening attack of the creature her fingers spark and she electrocuted the wet floor.
      So now she is equipped with all three of her spell powers from castlevania 3.
      Technically Trevor never gains the item crash power but the default item crash when no sub weapon is equipped in the sotn is taking the whip and making it a flame whip.
      In simon’s quest he has to buy various whips and add to it to create the flame whip.
      But it’s not till future games like sotn that we see an item crash, lament of innocence gave Leon the item crash due to renaldo enchanting his gauntlet.
      Since Trevor mentioned Leon than logically speaking Trevor can item crash, specifically the promo picture showing Trevor holding three small daggers the traditional item crash with daggers three are thrown straight forward.
      Also nice to see Trevor using the huge meat cleaver axe weapon thrown using the whip.
      The forgemaster book also had other creatures seen in castlevania.
      Also season 2 Easter eggs the dolls in Alucards childhood room the ghost, fairy, devil, bat, wolf.
      The magician vs issac fight shield rod and leather shield in the chamber.
      Boat on wheels definitely sounded like a grant reference.
      You could have also mentioned the part of Lenore transforming into a bat swarm and mist that was a lord of shadows 2 reference almost.
      Were you able to identify the bondage rings the Japanese couple Taka and Sumi used?
      It was clearly magical and silver since it seemed to hurt Alucard and bound him till sword familar saved him.
      Roast chicken as castlevania food although wall meat or dropped.
      Alucards cooking style using the basket to steam the fish he caught was a Japanese style and wrapping it in leaves.
      Many foods he eats are items dropped by dead enemies from sotn and forward.

    i'll give two guesses for Saint Germain's partner.
    the info we got from the partner is as follows;
    A: they have a feminine build and long hair.
    B: they are most likely trapped in castlevainia, but one in the future. the place looks amp'd up with new magic and shifting rooms, and is inverted. this could be a reference to SotN where halfway into the game castlevanina flips.
    C: we know that Saint Germain thinks very highly of the person, but it is unclear if the relationship is sexual or not.
    my guesses;
    1: Alucard. would not be surprised if Alucard gets stuck in castlevania in the future and Saint Germain may be his only friend alive and willing to try and save him.
    2: the show's adaptation of Shanoa from order of ecclesia. THIS is more of a shot in the dark, but the silhouette fits and the show has not shy'd away from using lesser known characters before.
    the order of ecclesia was also known to be in deep with its knowledge of alchemy and the occult...ok this is more wishful thinking on my part but, i don't know i just think it being Alucard is too obvious.
    timey-wimey shit is always hard to theorize on.
