This is a L64 bout at the Senior Men's Epee event at the 2019 October NAC in Kansas City. Curtis McDowald of USA on the right and Derek Rong of China is on the left.
So much ego in this match, it’s delicious
This ref though...
Watching this almost 2 years later lol but how was the incident at 20:55 not considered unsportsmanlike conduct?
Bc it's Curtis
Oh man, the Dynamo coach (Rong’s coach) is always like that. I’ve seen him at NACs and SYCs alike, and he’s either yelling at his fencers or the referee. I believe it’s mostly out of passion, but I think he was too emotional in this bout.
watching this 3 years later still not sure why anyone is surprised that Curtis got the entirety of the epee team black carded at an international event. We let him do this crap here without holding him accountable of course thats what he'll do internationally
What kind of grip is the guy on the left using? Looks sort of like a Leon Paul cantilever grip, without the end weight.
harut with drop edge pommel
Derek Beware
Why did Curtis just randomly yell
@@TheEnd-np7wn timestamp?
@@CyrusofChaos13:30
@@TheEnd-np7wn because it had been a minute with no score and Derek already had a PYellow card. Which meant that Curtis got a free point (old PCard rules)
31:04 send this to cyrus
Justin Park lol obviously not realizing it was being filmed on my camera but I'm glad the kids these days are thinking about sending me good bouts when they see someone recording them!
Don't know why Mcdowald got so frustrated and lose points. He could have simply won by the binding fleche he used in the first point.
8:26 Curtis he hit you bro dont even try arguing
How come rong got the yellow card at the beginning of the bout
I think it's because Curtis asked for Bout Committee and got carded for Unjustified Appeal
That yellow card was a p-yellow. It's not the same as a regular yellow. It's only issued to the fencer with the lower score at the end of one hard minute when no touch is scored. Both fencers may get a p-card if they have the same score and one minute has passed with no touch. These new cards fall under the new unwillingness to fence rules, which came into effect at Junior Olympics this year last season.
Black cards all around
