Thanks again Doc, You would be my choice if I were anywhere close to Atlanta.
Awesome Doctor
Always on my list as one of my best friends!!
Got me out of a wheelchair and gave me back my life!!
This makes our day to hear, Chris! Thank you so much for choosing us for your care. We would love to know, what's your favorite thing to do now that you have your life back?
How long should residual nerve pain last after lumbar microdiscectomy? Is it normal to still have residual nerve pain 3-6 months after the microdiscectomy surgery?
Hi David, thank you so much for your questions! It is unusual for nerve pain to last 3-6 months after a microdiscectomy. This indicates that a post-op contrast MRI should be conducted to see if residual compression is present. We do MRIs on site at our Atlanta and Savannah locations, but we can also do e-visits if you send us your imaging. Wishing you all the best on your healing journey!
I tell everyone i know if you want to hurt worse just have a back operation because after you do there is no help for your pain the rest of your life ,

@@spinecenterorthoatlanta I didn't have a %100 great outcome, but the surgery gave me a much better life. I didn't use Dr. Chappius but would not hesitate to do so if were in your kind of condition. Good luck to you Sir
Good information. But I had three empty disc they went in supposedly filled them did a fusion decompression bad outcome waited a year took the screws out hurt even more . seen a neurosurgeon. He said you’re not stable revisited the site, but the screws in smaller ones this time the other ones were quite large and sticking out of my back. Almost a year later, I could not tolerate the pain took the screws out. I’ve had every injection out there every block ablation. Then they put in a pain pump worked fairly well when it worked half the time I couldn’t get a bolus or it would run out yeah Seven years later had it taken out received a SL
in between so when they took out the pump! they left the tubing in this time. Tried the stimulator zero Nada they call it. I have failed back syndrome. I disagree. I’m so young and I have nothing to look forward to but pain every day 24 seven never goes away.
