Thanks for the video and appreciate the info you are providing. Front line Combat Gulf War Vet with service connected GERD that eventually developed to Barrett's Esophagus pre-cancer condition while under military medical care negligence while AD. Experienced the vomiting blood and thought I was dying of cancer until seeing a Gastro Doc outside the VA/military system that finally diagnosed the condition. Have to undergo bi-annual endoscopy's for the rest of my life and a 40 mg pill everyday for a drug that isn't supposed to be used long term. Not to mention the RULES, no pizza or tomato based foods, no fried foods, no eating after 1800, must sleep on back and not on sides or stomach, raised or inclined mattress, and yet I still otherwise experience acid reflux, vomiting, and even dry heaves on empty stomach despite the meds. I'm rated a big 10% disability for that. And the associated IBS that the Docs said was secondary to the GERD, was denied by the VA on my claim because there was no rating for GERD.... wait for it.... then the very next day they approved the 10% for the GERD. See how they denied the IBS because there was no GERD determination, then approved the GERD the very next day. Snakes in the grass! Why is it our combat veterans have to fight overseas only to return from combat to fight our own veterans administration tooth and nail for years and years, if they are able fight at all? It's almost like having a new enemy. Meanwhile, the US government is proud to freely give US tax payer money away to foreign governments and foreign citizens for various causes or provide monetary assistance to non-US citizens more easily than US military veterans. We need to take care of our Soldiers first!

Hi Michael, if the GERD is affecting your day to day life significantly and impacting your performance at work, then it may be worth considering an increased rating. Your foot is in the proverbial door with your 0% rating. Good luck!

Would exposure, to Agent Orange, in Vietnam, contribute, to Gerd? I was there, in the jungle, and, was oversprayed, by helicopters, 3 times, with "Defoliant". I will save this video, and comments, for your reply. Thank You.
