And Justice For All is their 4th album from 1988. Their first album is Kill ‘Em All in 1983. Then Ride The Lightning in 1984, and Master of Puppets in 1986

Nice start, ….Justice is such an under appreciated song.
-the statue is the Roman Statue “Lady Justice”. The scales are how she balances the outcome so Justice is applied equal. An eye for an eye. Her blindfold is because Justice is supposed to be blind an impartial no matter how rich or poor the participants are.
    - The song itself is 35 years old but will ring true for all time. The concept of Justice is corrupted by the rich and powerful who abuse their power even against the weakest in Society. They get their power from the apathy of the powerless who refuse to believe the corruption we see all around us.
If you want to really understand Metallica as artists you should start with the album “Ride the Lightning”, which has several next level songs. Every song on “Master of Puppets”, is must-listen. ….And Justice for all is the end of Metallicas pure thrash concept. Yet every album has a different feel to it.

For this era always go to the live Seattle concert in 1989. Phenomenal

If you wish to react to something you might not have heard of, I would say Aesthetic Perfection with Gods & Gold

This song is not anti government; it is a critique on the unfairness of the American justice system which is biased in favour of those who have money to pay for the best lawyers, against the poor who don't have that option.

this album was an experiment, what if it sounded like a lower quality garage band, so hetfield mixed the mesa boogie mark 2 c++ amp with another preamp that was in vogue at the time. It was Newstad's idea to double the Hetfield channel on both sides to make the garage sound better, unfortunately the bass sound was lost in return. I think its oldschool and badass mix, typical hetfield rage era.
