Thank you for the update on your progress! It is encouraging to me as well. I am in frozen northern Michigan, and completing what I can do during the cold winter months.

I appreciate you checking it out. I'm originally from northern Missouri and I remember spending most of my winter evenings in the garage with my first sailboat, a Flying Scot. Like you, doing whatever I could. I bought a new outboard motor today. Right now I'm starring at the marina water, ready to go sail this boat for the first time. But, a winter storm is rolling in so not today. Thanks Mr. Randy.

You have been busy- getting your ‘82 #HutchinsComPac23 overhauled. Looking forward to watching all of the progress for the “Manautical Siren”!
1982… What a great year indeed.

Definitely a worthy transformation and looking good already. Think the old owner would be proud?? Yeah, for sure. Love a good project.👍🏻

Hello! The dirty work is almost over and tomorrow the boat gets hauled out and put on stands. I can't wait to see what's below the waterline. Let the hull painting begin! The name of the paint is Super Jet Black. Thanks for watching.

Nope, never played any Rush. Too difficult. I stick to strumming easy four chord songs. Thanks for watching.

Mitch, maybe you cover this later but I was wondering if your 23 came with the head (mine looks to have a pump toilet). Did you remove/replace it? I don't see one in the v berth when you were painting.

Hey Paul, My boat only came with the empty spot to put a portapotty under the v-berth. I didn't want any thru hulls. I've had a boat with the full toilet system and I prefer the simplest method possible.

@@smallsailboatbigwater3959 Thanks for the reply! Since I already have the system and the thru hulls that go with it, I am going to keep and upgrade. I have issues that require me to have access if I am going to be out for more than a few hours that make other options problematic. Currently having issues finding upholsters to replace my cushions. None came with the boat so I have to have them all fabricated from scratch. Like you, I also need to replace all the rigging as I intend to do some proper sailing in this little girl. Luckily, I am a retired Coast Guard Bosun's Mate and I can work cables and splice double braid line. I am also adding some power options so I can have 110 available. As I go through your vids I am compiling a list of things to do and to buy. I have to thank you for doing this series, since you went through this in what is the same model and year vessel everything you detailed applies. Keep the wet side down brother!

Luckily the standing rigging has already been gone through. The running rigging is easier. I believe I once saw that Com-Pac Yachts had a complete set of cabin cushions on their CP23 parts list for $1,000. I looking forward to the 2023 season. I'm just getting started. Best wishes.
