- This review was a breeeeze! As you all know, I loved reviewing the Tenways CGO600 last year. So, when Tenways announced the upgraded version; I knew I HAD to give it a go!
Over the course of a month I really put this bike through its paces with hill tests, cycling in the pouring rain, differing terrains, as well as running it all the way to zero for an accurate range test.... but what's new? Let's find out!

Nice quality review! Enjoy watching your videos!
You do such a great job reviewing these bicycle Thank you
Thank you so much that means a lot 🥰
I got my Tenways CGO600 during the final stage of it's Indegogo promotion (2 years ago) and I'm very happy with the bike. I've had several issues during this time, but the company's excellent support team has helped me solving them so far. I'm currently thinking about upgrading the bike mainly because of the non removable battery and it's low range, and the 600 PRO can definitely be an option! Thanks for the review, in love with you!❤
Wow loved your review, this upgraded version looks great and modern too! Integrated front light, bigger and removable batteries, thicker tires, aluminium fenders and new body frame gave the refresh this city bike needed. I’m building my own electric bike from scratch, buying electric rear hub motor kit, batteries, tools for welding and measuring cells real capacity and resistance, and all bike parts like suspension and gears cuz there are a lot of bumps and hills where I live in Brazil. 😘😌
Aww thank you! Best of luck with build. Make sure to buy a reputable battery!
Great review :-) I am decently considering this bike.
I like what Tenways are doing. I ride a converted colnago master ebike (20k miles). Slim bikes built well can handle electric whilst maintaining range. Good review.
I was waiting for this video. But while I was waiting i got me the bike🔥🔥i luv it
Is it your first ebike? Don’t blame you for not waiting
Omg you have a Bigtrak in your garage! 🤩 btw thanks for the vid ⚡️Ordered the 600pro today!
this bike is INSANE. I got mine yesterday, very happy
Great video guys
E, that 1st Tenways video is the reason I began watching & subscribed to Electroheads to begin with ❤🎉

Great review, thank you! Looking for an alternative for VanMoof due to the bankruptcy. The Tenways reviews I have seen so far help narrow down the choices.
Great review guys, I would love a review of the Tenways Ago T E-Bike just released when you have time. It would be good to see how the Enviolo Stepless Shifting Hub works going uphill and how long the range actually lasts on an everyday commute for that bike. Keep up the good content.
Great video.
Im just amazed that youre doing content without a chase car. That shows that the review is authentic.
I AM the vehicle 😂
CZcams showed me this video on the same screen as last year's version ... I think you got better at fitting mudguards! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Can we appreciate the beauty of this human? She makes everything look good 😻
You are too kind 🥰
Another great review, awesome editing as well!
Thank you 🤗
Excellent slow motion speed bump video clips
Thank you for a very good review! Sitting here with a VanMoof full of error codes and no one to repair it I’m looking for a new e-bike. My question: how is the service and repair with this bike? This question might also be relevant for future reviews of smaller “online only” brand. Thank you for creating great videos.
Nice review! When are you doing the CGO009 review? I'm in between the two of them and it would be great to have a review on it as well :)
I can get this bike in Colorado! Fantastic!
Great review! Covered all the bases! One question…what was the incline of the hill? Thanks
Thank you 😊 It was about a 7% gradient
Just got hooked watching your bloggs , love the bike reviews
I'm interested in these lightweight ebikes. Have you tested this against the Velotric T1 or ST yet?
Had my eye on this model for a fee months and were hoping that there would be some discount for black friday as €1800 is a bit over my budget… but instead they reduced the CGO600 by €200 on top of the €200 off it had already. So for €600 less it looked like a good deal and i pulled the trigger 😊 i really liked the look of the integrated headlight, tidier cables/hoses at the front and alloy mudguards, but reckoned they are not worth €600 extra. Even though the plastic ones do look quite cheap. The removable battery would be nice to have as an option but was not a dealbreaker. Haven’t even tried it yet as it’s been snowing for a week, but hope to get a lot of mileage from it come spring
Great review as always. I'm looking into getting our first E-bikes for myself and my wife but have run into a bit of a dead end. Are you aware of any reasonably priced E-bikes which are both foldable and which are suitable for attaching a child trailer? Most e-bikes seem to use a thru hitch on the rear wheel which aren't compatible with most child trailers and most foldable bikes have small wheels which have a similar issue. Thanks!
I've bought one two weeks ago. Fortunately I went to a bike shop first. The main reason for going to get a feel for the cadence at 25km/h, which I think is okay. Having 1 gear is always a compromise between low speed and high speed. The Tenways 600 Pro is towards the higher end of that compromise. That means it is quite comfortable at 25km/h. It also means that starting from a standstill is very hard to do without motor assist. And even with motor assist, don't expect to be the quickest at the light (though I only use assist level 1). But personally I prefer this setting over having to pedal fast at max speed.
Being at the shop also gave me the opportunity to examine the colors. I didn't like that new avocado green at all. I was planning on getting a blue one, which looks great on screen, but the gray just looks better life in daylight. So I got the gray.
The salesmen also advised me to get the XL frame for my size even though I'm not 195cm tall.
I would not advise this bike when you have lots of hills where you live. I have not yet tried to start cycling when on an uphill, but I suspect that will be a struggle.
This is the first time watching one of your reviews and I must say that you are absolutely beautiful and the review was great.
Greetings from Canada! Your reviews are some of the best on youtube, not to mention the selection of ebikes you have there in the UK. Your reviews are actually so thorough that it’s quite hard to pick just one or two ebikes. Tenways and eStarli looks to be some of the best based on your reviews. Cheers to our Premier Doug Ford for making an appearance on this video 😅. Keep up the great work!
What a beautiful comment, thank you! This means a lot.
I’m 5’ 11” just like Eilis. Winning it would be amazing!
I am really torn - should I get the CGO 600 Pro or the Honbike U4…. Thanks for the video
Great bike! I’d consider getting this, but my concern is when I need to get the motor serviced in the future. My local bike shop in London will only service Bosch. Are there any bike shops in London, that services tenways particular motor
What do you think about the Raleigh motus grand tour? I'm considering this bike
Test it on the hill between Crouch End and Muswell Hill.
Love all your videos.may I know your expert idea on BMW URBAN HYBRID BIKE?
Hi, great review, when are you guys coming to ireland to do a video, how about a pop up shop in Dublin ! Dave
It's definitely on our agenda!! Would love to get over to Ireland. Watch this space
I really like that it didn’t look like e-bike. But a normal bike. Really cool
It’s a lovely, sleek design!
Regarding pedalling without assistance. Both this pro version and the original 600 bike in UK and EU have the same motor, according to Tenways' website. The clutch that allows the motor to disengage and not slow the bike when there is no assistance is built into the motor. So it seems unlikely that there would be any difference between the bikes when pedalling without assistance.
Which do you prefer the 600 Pro or the 800S? I am on the verge of getting one but cant decide.
My favorite presenter, pure elite. ❤
What a comment 🥲
Do you have any steep hills to do your hill test on? In the PNW of the US there are many neighborhoods with 25 percent or greater gradients and it doesn't seem like anything less than about 750W assistance would be enough help for a lot of people to get up their own hills.
Hiplock d1000, i would like to see a review on this lock
Could you review the tenways battery pack ❤
I’ve watched 4 bike reviews in a row now and all seem to have the same mass, range etc so is it more than the power that’s regulated ?
do they not deliver a fixed wheellock with the bike? and a lugage rack?
Review the Tenways AGO T next!
In the EU the limit is not only 25km per hour and 250w, there is also speed pedelec 45km per hour and max 4000w. I live at the country side and it nice to do 45km per hour when there is 20km to the local super marked. Why do you never test speed pedelec ?
Do you know if any bikes you could recommend for heavier taller people because a lot of them mix out at 120 kg but that of course includes the weight of the bike. But not everybody in the world is in shape yet.
Electroheads dropping their finest video thumbail yet ahaha, someone knows the colour wheel well!
Looks a decent city bike that.
Ha we strive for greatness - in pink!
Hey there! I just stumbled upon a new project that caught my attention. Have you heard about the freebeat Morph 2-in-1 eBike? It seems to have some outstanding features, like the ability to charge indoors. The brushless 750W motor, 80Nm torque, and puncture-resistant fat tires also make it stand out. And let's not forget the Smart Saddle Detection+ feature, which keeps you motivated during your rides. Definitely worth checking out if you're into e-bikes!
Thanks
She knows her ebikes ❤🤟🤠🇬🇧
I live at the top of a heel (20° grade). Any recommend bikes that have carbon gate belt drive?
Just to be nitpicking, I do hope the range-test was after at least 5 loading cycles. The batteries are well known to get their reallife charge after an x amount of load/unloading.
Just ordered my first ebike. Ordered the specialized turbo levo with the 565 watt motor 😈 if I'm paying and using an e bike I want a nice amount of power. I think the 250 watt motor limit is ridiculous
Could you please review the Basis Hybrid 700c Folding ebike from ebikes direct?
Now please test Tenways Ago X :)
I've found my favourite bike reviewer 🥰
Wow, thanks!
Is the Gecko and the Boost ebike kits the same?
I have done 1250km on mine so far. Added a luggage rack, seat suspension and a more comfortable handle bars. Love this bike, only wished it had more assist settings (lower ones) Step 1 gets you to 25km/h easily. The display could be a little bit bigger for my 50+ eyes😁
25km/h is slow. Get a 1000w with 55km/h
where did you buy the accessories? 😊 im thinking about seat suspension as well
How does it do on gravel/grass? I know... it's a roadbike
@@pkkgyasi not great, you need thicker nobby tread tires for a good experience off road.
It is fine, but as it has no suspension it must not be to rough for comfort @@pkkgyasi
Can you get this on your bike to work scheme please
I love this bike. I bought the 600pro 2 months ago and it feels so good to “drive” it because the motor immediately kicks in after the first pedal. It feels super smooth. Pedaling without the motor on is very easy (atleast when I don’t have headwind. And with backwind its very easy to maintain a speed of 26 or higher km/h so I can ride without using the battery! The battery gives about 100 km range or 1% charge per kilometer and it charges about 30 km per hour. So when I charge it I set my timer so I can charge the battery to around 80%. So yeah I love this bike and it looks nothing like an ordinary e-bike, it looks so gorgeous!😊 Assembling the bike was straight forward to do however the instrument to loosen the display wasn’t included in the box. I had to buy that one at the diy shop for €3. Regarding replacing the battery that costs about €300 I think so I guess it’s also future proof. I hope to ride this bike for years and years. Keep up with the brilliant vids Eilis, looking forward to the next one!
So great to hear your experience with it! It's a lovely lil ebike
@@Electroheads which phoneholder did you use in the video?
Do you have alternative tips for ebikes that are around the same price (maybe cheaper) that better for uphill?
You might want to consider the Momentum Voya. The torque is a little less and the power is the same, but they have a 10 speed derailleur option (in addition to a single speed with belt drive) that might make hill climbing easier. Unlike the tenways though, it does not come with lights and fenders, but momentum does offer fenders and lights as add ons, as well as rear AND front luggage carriers.
This bike is perfect except for the size. Do you know if they'll be making a Small frame for us shorter folk?
The smallest frame is M for 165 ~ 180 cm
nice bike for my mom!
How to buy the US spec from the EU?
I would think the use of 21700 cells instead of 18650 an interesting choice, and is something of a deal-breaker to me. It means that it will be harder to replace the cells on your own or at your local store (who may not be a dealer) since 21700's are far less common than 18650's, and generally more expensive per mAh.
If you're replacing individual cells by yourself you're in a vanishingly small percentile of customers that I'm sure Tenways/Electroheads don't care about.
@@davidf2281 you're probably right that Tenways/Electroheads doesn't care about me. But I wasn't writing to them. I'm writing to people who would care, or are wondering what are the differences between the two types of cells.
To Electroheads' credit, they did bring up this fact, but they didn't dig into the implications. In any event, these bikes when sold will be shipped hundreds or thousands of miles away from Tenways and/or Electroheads, so it is up to the user or their local store to help service them if anything goes wrong. In fact, this is exactly what Tenways says to do (read their website). And if it is within the warranty period, they will reimburse the costs. They would even provide a battery guide if asked. That's because shipping Li-ion batteries especially of that size is a big pain.
Given that the price of a new battery pack is at least 20% the cost of the e-bike (and some brands like GoCycle is over $1000 for a new one), and also the most dangerous part of the bike, it's within the user's interest to care more about it.
With VanMoof bankruptcy, and the apparent difficulties arising from apps no longer working, can you please start reviewing using the bikes without any app usage, to ensure the bikes can remain useful beyond the company?
I'm not understanding - I didn't use the app with this bike?
@@Electroheads Sorry. I should say for future reviews of bikes with apps, please see what can be done if the app isn’t available.
the app for tenways is basically useless, i have never used it
@@mstreich start walking
The removable battery is nice. Wondering if the bike is lighter after removing the power pack, sounds like a weird question but if you put the power pack in your backpack it would make it easier on the arms to lift the bike up the stairs...
I think you need to re-phrase your question.
@@bikeman123 Thanks, you are correct! What is the weight of the pro without the battery pack? vs, What is the weight of the old model with built in power pack?
Ghost fan here. Watched loads of vids since I was choosing an electric car to buy but only commented once. Big fan of your work. But youtuber to youtuber(s)... have you found a clamp that holds the selfie insta360 selfie stick in place without it falling down?
Thank you! Yes it's a tricky one to keep the 360, especially when you stretch the pole out. We use the motorcycle mount which comes from the insta 360 website. We use grips to get it as tight as possible to the frame which does the trick!
@Electroheads Thanks I'll check that out. Someone suggested a Manfrotto superclamp to me too.
Congratulations, you are the first person I have ever seen sat on a electric moped spin the crankset. yeah, before they were powered with petrol and called mopeds.
I love this Bike and I like the Lady 🙃🥰🙃
I like Eilis!
I hope you do an update on Vanmoof and how it will affect the support for owners of their products.
In a roundabout way this was a concern when I bought my Tenways CGO600 non pro. Bespoke (ahem) batteries fixed inside the frame will eventually require specialist maintenance which is difficult as it is in the UK. I hope Tenways are better placed in the industry to survive and thrive.
All that said, I really am enjoying the bike and I haven't filled the car up for over 2 months 🙂
What is the situation with replacing battery for a Tenways? In the video they say that Tenways supply batteries but when I emailed Tenways they said they only replace them if faulty in the 2 year warranty period but do not sell or supply them outside of that 2 year period. What do you do once the battery dies in a few years when the manufacturer does not supply them.
Its making me question whether they are a valid option now
@@kismo6167 Thats pretty much my understanding. I hope they will supply to a local vendor/repair specialist.
Love the colour - I want it!! I was sold just on the integrated lights, I’m too easy 😀 - been lazy and still haven’t fitted lights to my standard bike!
this women can sell anything, knowledgeable
Still not available in Canada. :(
how was it to ride the bike once the battery ran out? thank you!
It's got quite a bit of resistance so I'd say avoid riding without assist unless you've got some powerful legs!
When you say 16 - 18kg, what accessories have been added to add a whole 2kg to the weight? That can't just be mudguards and lights - does it have an integral cable lock or something?
Maybe frame size? They come in 3 sizes.
@@HenriZwols 1:23 she specifically said it was to do with what accessories were fitted. Also I can't see frame size making a difference of more than 1-200g, it's only a few inches of thin-walled aluminium tube here and there. Maybe the kickstand isn't standard either?
I'm sure the alu mudguards weigh a bit more than your normal SKS thermoplastics but still, even adding up 'guards, frame variation and kickstand I can't see 2kg...
The speed you are forced to go up the hill by the single speed must also be a concern, as you say.
Can you buy a tenways electric bike in Australia.?
⚡👀⚡
250w Ebikes are great if the roads are smooth and there's no hills at all... 😊
A 250w motor is like having another person pedalling (because they put out more than 250w peak). Unless you are carrying kids in a cargo bike, how much more assist do you need?
It's between this Tenway pro and the Mokumono Polder for me. Would be great if you could review that one.
The Tenway looks like best bang for buck currently, but what would make it a no brainer is an integrated back light and a cleaner mode changing device. I prefer the no-display ring device from R&M UBN silent or canyon. It seemed like you did not use the display much compared to the phone and I think a display is just another thing that can fail, or what do you think about that?
So when you say that you are riding the bike switched off that's just you cycling the bike with just the 1 gear belt drive no battery power at all. May sound stupid but I'm asking as I'd rather have a belt drive with no gears but if I run out of battery wanted to know if you can still ride it home without too much of an issue etc
That’s exactly it. No power, everything switched off with the single speed belt drive. You can still pedal when it runs out but there is resistance, so would be trickier if you needed to climb some hills, but if you need to journey back on flats you’ll just break a touch more of a sweat
@@Electroheads
That's what I thought thank you. I really like the look of this bike in the pro version and it's all flat where I live so this bike is ideal for me and my partner especially that Tenways said it can have a child seat on as I have a 1 year old that's going to start venturing out with us. Cheers and keep up the good work.
Are you compensated by Tenways for doing these reviews, tests, ?
No gears is an awful way to save weight and costs. I tried the Baby Maker and couldn't help but think how ineffective it would be without power. Even 3 gears can make a bike much more comfortable to ride, and ultimately it lets you use less battery power and get better range. Also bs that the motor fights you here but that's a separate issue.
Now we are getting to the electric bike that could be covering the biggest market that’s been missed by most manufacturers. Did I miss the price or did you mention it ?
Currently £1799!
@@Electroheads thanks .
You said you contacted tenways and they said you can mount a child seat on the back. Well reading from the bike’s manual “Do not install a child seat on the CGO600 Pro. This may result in injury or death.
A bit clarification I think it’s needed here.
May I ask how tall are You and which size of bike did You ride on?
I’ve just watched your CGO600 test video. Size M, 177cm. I know everything 😂. No more questions
Great sleuthing! 👏 Just to add to this I actually got an L frame as that was what was avail from Tenways at the time in Avocado Green and that works great, too. So there's definitely some flexibility in the sizes if you want a specific colour and there's limited availability 😊
Can the display be changed to miles?
It sure can!
Curious what range you get by riding in first shift. Also you think battery will wear down as fast as my Phone:)
The cadence is NOT influenced by the belt drive. You said it was, twice. What influences the cadence is the gearing.
Right -- the gearing of the "single speed" (single ratio) belt drive
Literally no Green versions available in UK (if you buying on cycle2wor scheme)
Some 🥑 on the way.....
How come this ebike actively restricts riders to 15.5mph? On other ebikes assistance stops at 15.5mph but there is no motor drag above this speed.
It doesn't, i can ride mine easy at a speed of 28 a 30 km/h without feeling any drag, i guess she's skipping legday too often ;)
Can't see what justifies the price compared to a ride1up gravel version for $1200 USD. Torque sensor is nice and slightly bigger battery but, for $400 more doesn't seem like a great deal. Also, another red flag is no available replacement battery from manufacturer.
I was on the fence between this and the Ride1up gravel but finally ordered the Tenways because of the combination of bigger battery, much better range, and the torque sensor. You are right that they do not list a replacement battery on their website yet but I’m sure there will be one available.
@@ericschneider7648 Tenways said they do not sell/supply replacement battery unless they are faulty in the two year warranty period to me via email
I really don't get the trend for single speed ebikes. The key selling point of an ebikes is the ability to flatten hills, so why build one that can't do that?!
Ontario Canada Premier Doug Ford lol
Knowing I can ride a standard bicycle at almost 25mph, why would I restrict myself with an electric bike costing 5x more?
If you don't need electric then stick with what you got ☺ there are people who prefer the magical boost feeling of the electric assist or need a helping hand due to mobility issues. We're all different and should celebrate that!
