0:00 Intro - Click show more under the video to read more.
0:05 The customer did not get the correct struts installed at this shop once he was told the incorrect ones were installed. The technician is not sure what shop apparently did this. The passenger front wheel looks to have a bend in it as well.
0:19 All the spots where the cab mounts to the frame were rusted out along other spots of the frame. The shop refused to do any work on it and hopefully, the truck is no longer being driven on the roads...
0:32 When the EPB (electronic parking brake) system is in default mode it will not work.
0:43 The carpet was removed for the customer.
    0:51 No extra info.
0:58 I wonder what DOT would say if they saw this... as it would most likely not pass inspection with the steering wheel mounted like this.
1:08 "That is a cab levelling valve. The driver tried to use spray foam to stop a leak. The part was replaced so it could pass inspection."
    1:16 It's a Weird spot for a corn dog.
1:25 The technician said he's not sure how it got installed backwards and it would most likely have been a pain to install it this way.
1:35 The car was driven in like this and towed away.
1:50 Twisted brake hose, damaged ABS sensor wire, sway bar links cut, sway bar cut, brake lines fixed with compression fittings, CEL light on, ABS light on, issues with brakes as well. Always make sure to get a pre-purchase inspection. The car must have had quite the sway without the sway bar links!
2:06 Of course they didn't find it!
2:14 Had orange silicone and double gaskets used for the thermostat housing.
2:23 Must have taken some convincing to get that backing plate between the brake pad and rotor. You can install backing plates/dust shields backwards so always remember the orientation before removing them.
2:34 Looks to be a Ford Fiesta (didn't mention). However, this might be the worst damage we have seen! Must have made quite the brutal noise when that happened.
2:51 No extra info but don't do this...
3:06 A custom Honda was in to get new tires installed.
    3:16 Outro. Thanks for watching!

Funny enough, there actually are ways to quickly cause severe rust damage to steel. I haven't ever heard someone float the idea of a mechanic doing it though.
Mostly it's just done in a very controlled fashion to etch metal. I do see where those fake youtube antique restoration videos have done it though. Never did understand that one. There's plenty of real junk with real rust just waiting for them in the world.

    • @ragingbombast

@@ColonelSandersLite "Real rusted" items don't have easily removed and cleaned surface rust and predictably intact internals/small parts. Last week, I had a customer accuse the shop of breaking his windshield with the scan tool. The backstory here is that the car has failed an MTO safety inspection twice because he never gets anything fixed and he's pissed at us for not giving him a safety certificate for the car. Last week he comes in to find out why the air bag light is on. I determine it's the clock spring and advise him to go to the dealer because Kia has an extended warranty on the part in question. Then the battle starts because he's been denied a safety certificate for a third time.

Our recommendation was for her to drop the car off at the junk yard and buy a new one due to the cost of the repairs necessary to make it safe to drive. We offered to look over any car she considered buying. She brought us 3 different cars to look at. First one, the guy tried to claim was in excellent condition. It needed almost $5K in body work and another $2K in mechanical repairs.

I don't claim to know much, definitely not a mechanic, (I was a CNC Machinist by trade, retired now) but some of the crap I see these guys do to their cars is really unbelievable. I never screwed anything up that made me bring my car to a mechanic to fix correctly. If I didn't know how to do it then I'd bring it to one and have them do it. And to think these people are driving next to us at 70 MPH or more on our highways with cars in this condition. SMH

      @cenciende9401 Před 2 měsíci +4

In my country it's the seller who gets an inspection done and provides it to buyers. Never understood the buyer paying for it, you pay for an inspection, you don't like the results, you move on, rinse and repeat each time reducing your budget further, with a low budget such as someone's first car that could easily mean reaching the point of no longer being able to purchase one. If the seller doesn't have it done I just assume they don't want to sell.
