    My mom was gonna lose her house , and we had 14 days to get 27,000$ cash in order to pay back the bank for the outstanding balance so we would have the to opportunity to sell the house in the time frame of 14 days. My friend let me burrow his entire saving in order to help my mom out . it all worked out we sold the house and I gave him an extra 5,000 for doing me the biggest favors . The money was tied up with lawyers and banks and court for about 3 months 10 weeks longer than expected . I approached him to let him know whats good and before I even started the convo he looked me dead in my eyes and said I know you don't have the money and I know you'll pay me back as soon as you get it so don't stress because I'm not. Just FYI about exchanging yuan to dollars. It’s a pretty difficult thing for the Chinese. However for Taiwanese, aka sword art &Yursan, we don’t need it, it’s pretty simple for Taiwanese to exchange money between current, which often time just involve some online banking, or a most a call to customer service. And since the LPL imports are in LCS for a not every long time. I really doubt the statement

    • @incarnation151
      @incarnation151 Před 2 lety +6

      It's not a difficult thing for the Chinese as well. If you need cash, you only need to fill out a forum stating the amount and the reason and you are pretty much good to go. If you have a bank account in another country, online banking can simply suffice if you need a transfer. Any individual has a yearly allowance of up to 50,000 US dollar to exchange, it's not a lot but you have family members that can also exchange currencies.

      There is no shot health care in China could cost up to 200k a month. We know that China is becoming a global power in these recents years, but in reality, the gap between the poor and the rich in China is as large as the gap between NA lol and KR lol. The majority of Chinese make like 15k a year. It certainly is a lot of money for cancer treatment especially the best ones, but there is no way it costs that much.

    I feel like Zhang only contacted ppl about money as an alibi to prove that he needs the money for his grandma's operation and not to actually have the money. If you think about it, the investigations with those individuals (DL and others) do confirm that Zhang needed money for operation.

    For those that dont know, the way hospital in China treat patient on severe illness like Cancer are a whole different level. My uncle was diagnosed with cancer, and hospital require us to pay for everything the hospital used on the patient asap, no payment, no treatment. Let me give u an example, my uncle needed a shot, we need to go to floor 2, the payment center, pay and receive a receipt, then we go back to the nurse, show them the receipt, then the shot will be applied, same goes for painkiller, everything the patient requires or need from the hospital, must be pay at the time it is required by the hospital before anything is done. Even the gown needs to be purchased, hospital does not provide the basic needs where US patients received, on top of that, u are sharing the room with 3 or 5 ppl depending on the size of the room.
    Insurance only covers the total bill at the end, not the money that is being spent during, say insurance covers 30% of the bill, the gown cost 20rmb, and u might think u only need to pay 14rmb, wrong, u pay the full price upfront. After everything is done, u pay the full medical bill, u take the recipe to ur insurance, they will reimburse ur 30%. It might sound insane, but thats how it is, this is my experience at the #1 hospital in Guanzhou, one of the 4 main city in China. Else where might be lot more harsh or might operate slightly different.
    For those that wonders, we gave my uncle more than 350k during his stay at the hospital before his passing over the 3 month period, we are so broke that we were about to sell our house to continue the support, so Medical bill for treating cancer in China is insane.

      Unfortunately this isn't exclusive to just kids or league. A lot of athletes suddenly come into money and play for a year in their respective sport and then are found in a d league across the world or mcd due to poor financial management. Schools should be trying better to teach basics to life than just dumping trig/chem/memorization of useless things into people.

  • @Jimmy-pc9qe
    @Jimmy-pc9qe Před 2 lety

    To be fair to Peter Zhang, yes it is a pretty common occurrence in China for friends/colleagues to lend each other money especially in times of crisis. Also the standardized healthcare while great has its limits especially in a country with as many people as China. Often times surgery waiting lists are long af and you have to have connections and grease the wheels with a red packet. Also very frequently an outside surgeon will be flown in to perform an operation that a hospital is not able to perform with the doctors it has on hand which is paid mostly out of pocket by the family. However none of this excuses Peter Zhang’s terrible financial decisions and probable gambling addiction.
