Ben, these videos are such a great addition to all the coverage we get of these races. It's fantastic to have a thorough in-depth explaination of the track including all the features, sections and challenges that we can't see on camera or from watching a pov gopro run. This really helps give us a sense of what the riders are feeling when riding the track. I especially like that instead of just saying "Yeah, this is a tricky section" you actually detail exactly what makes the section soo difficult. These are also very well filmed and edited so props to the whole team.
If you're not going to be busy next year racing, running a team, working for pinkbike or doing your own thing on youtube I think that Discovery would be foolish if they didn't try to get you on-board for the coverage of downhill.

yeah haha when he said "you wanna rest your fingers..." at 9:26 i thought: well at least they are almost in the finish now. and i totally forgot about the gnarly rockgarden thats still ahead 😵
For sure, I'm totally at peace knowing I'll never ride a bike on a course like this. It is incredible to watch though.

Same, it can be jarring to watch the official footage because it feels so different and less approachable. If I only watch one, I'll watch Cathro but if I do watch the official footage it feels like I have inside knowledge cause I "know a guy" :D

With all the great content we’re getting from pinkbike, Fox, the riders, the teams, etc… we have a much better idea of the track and the specific challenges it imposes. It makes race day that much more entertaining.
lets hope discorvery allows them to keep making their own content at the tracks. I think the content the riders and teams make are some of the best parts of the sport. But we already saw what can happen with bernard at snowshoe they wouldn't let him wear his go pro down the race run because of liscening or something. I just hope that doesn't become a widespread problem when discovery take over

This whole video was riveting. Ben is not paid enough money. Period. This is amazing content, and I don't even race.
What a track. I really like this one. Best track this year in my personal opinion, a real test that will separate the wheat from the chaff. Get every section perfect or at least well and you'll have a chance, screw up once and you'll be behind the eight ball. Endurance and conditioning will also be key, if you get too tired and your muscles start failing you're probably gonna screw up. Can't wait to see the race!

I dropped F1 because of you. DH is so much better to follow.
There were 140 elite men racing in andorra so one had to beat 80 people to qualify. In here there's only 20 people to beat, that's why the gap in the times is so big, and that's why in the american races people who usually struggle to qualify are getting to the finals without problem.
Same in Fort William, 138 elite, I'm guessing it has more to do with the travelling euro circuit here than a lack of local talent in USA
