How to play "Midnight in Harlem" in open E tuning. (E.B.E.G#.B.E) I would like to post this video for all fans of TTB and someone want to learn or play how to do slide guitar like Derek Trucks. I played only few note, and just focus on B strings and E strings of 5th,7th,9th fret. plus 11th fret(M7). 12th fret is always tonic position.I hope this could help you sometimes . Thank you for watching !!

I loved the way you set up the lesson - so intuitive. And this is a great one to practice slide to with that nice loop going. My singer wanted me to learn this. It's a lovely song. I had a band in Austin in the 90's and we opened up for Derek Trucks (3 piece) at the White Rabbit. He was 15 and just starting to get national acclaim. Cool times back then.

Great little lesson, Ryosuke! I like the demonstration of how to extend the scale up the neck on the top two strings. Keep posting these! The only thing I'd add is that when DT goes up to the A riff, he's usually sliding his pinkie between the 9th and the 7th frets instead of fretting them cleanly.

Thank you!! I'm using YAMAHA amp(SR50 112) it's a small amp and quite heavy, celestion speaker G12M-70. It's naturally tone. (High 3 Mid 8 Ba 3 Pre 3 Rev 5)

Thank you for your comment. I should have recorded like you asking me. I use my iPhone to make these videos but it doesn't have wide view shooting. I'm not sure if it really doesn't. I want to show you clearly how left hand working on fret position in open E. so I always need to be close to my iPhone when I play. But Next time I should do better shooting.
