Can you guys clarify where you found this torque spec? I’ve read 25 or 35 ft/lb but never heard of using an angle torque on these. Did you just apply the torque that’s called for on the OEM torque to yield bolts?
I imagine you’ve gotten your answer already. Anyone else looking, factory m8x16 bolts are 35Nm/26ft lbs. The VTT bolts are grade 12.9 which should be 48Nm/35ft lbs. 🙂
Even i might be able to do that, after watching the vid
Hey Im a new subscriber and have a question for y’all if you can respond! I’m interested in getting a v10 e60 m5 right now but I don’t know how to work on cars and if I get one it would have 80-120k miles, do you think the v10 is reliable enough and affordable to get worked on? Is it worth it or should I get a 340i and build it out? I really want to v10 but I’ve heard different things about it being reliable! Please help!
Hey, not too sure if your still looking for a car but DO NOT buy a v10 m5. matter of fact, if you want reliable and tunable power stick to inline 6's from BMW. Just get the B58 and call it a day bcs I guarantee you the v10 m5 will be a headache to maintain. Simple things like coils, sparkplugs, even oil, you will need a lot more of so it will just naturally cost more. Not to mention the rod bearings that the v10 shares with the s65 v8 are also an issue.
Why not just take the fan out and do it from up top ?
