@@prajwalkrishnabhat5539 right now he isn't, I completely agree, but I have a problem with people who say if Jokic wins another championship with finals MVP and regular season MVP he is clearly top 20 or top 25... I mean???? Eho he isn't top top 25 already??? And do you all know eho has just 1 MVP award, 2 titles and 2 Finals MVPs and is in top 12-13?? Those players are Hakeem and Kevin Durant. Ok, I get it that Hakeem also has 2 defensive player of the year awards, but come on man, if Jokic wins another championship this season and he would most likely win his 3rd MVP award this season as right now he is definitely a favourite altough it is really close race, but let me ask you something. With 3 MVPs, 2 championships and 2 finals MVPs, where are you ranking Jokic all time??? Because for me, he easily has to be in those top 12, top 13 players of all time if he acomplish that. Not to mention that all his MVP seasons are historically great from a statistical point, Jordan's highest per in his career was 31,7, same as Lebron. Jokicin 2022 had 32,8 per, in 2021 he had 31,3, last year he had 31,5 and he lost, and this season he has 31,2 and still has a chence to improve it until the end. The "lack of athleticism" argument is stupid anyway. Athleticism isn't just your vertical leap or how fast you can run. Jokic is an incredible athlete. You can't make the scoring plays and passing plays that he makes without being an athlete. You can't run up and down a court for 35 minutes playing at an all-time great level without being an athlete. He doesn't only depend on athleticism to be great, but he's a hell of an athlete. He's just not the flashy kind of athlete that SOME basketball fans gravitate toward.

Not sure what The F*ck people are thlig about when they say he does not have athletic ability. Stupid. Yep. LeBron's ability to play at a high level for so long with the way he plays is basically not human, but Joker's game is, barring freakish injury or his just getting bored with it all, aimed right at him playing 20 years. 'He can't really jump, he isn't very quick, he's not that athletic...' So he won't be those at 40 either, BUT he's the best player on the planet without those things... so 'slowing down' won't matter, losing some 'bounce' won't matter, and he doesn't 'look' athletic... just won't matter. I jist don't agree with you that Lebron James is the last basketball player we've seen who can't be stopped. Lebron also couldn't shoot threes most of the time in his career like he is shooting right now, he can't shoot free throws on 75% efficiency soo I don't know man, if you already mention some unstopable player from 2010s to compare him with Jokic dominance, the only comparison is Kevin Durant. The most complete scorer of all time in general. He is probably the greatest mid-range scorer of all time, he is one of the greatest 3 point scorers of all time, he is one of the best free throw shooters of all time even though he shoots 86% from free throws this season which is below average for him but still, he is the only player that you can compare with Jokic from 2010s. But guess what? I don't agree that either him or Lebron were better scorers than Luka right now because Luka is playing most likely the greatest offensive season of all time. You are saying he misses some deep threes sometimes, but dude... EVERYONE IS MISSING SHOTS SOME TIMES, even Lebron in his prime had some inefficient games, same about Durant, Curry... Any other. But the point is, Doncic is averaging nearly 35 points this season on 50% from the field and 38% from three point range... That's... That's insanee, Lebron and Durant have never had seasons like that, so I don't agree that Lebron is more unstopable player than Doncic... Nearly don't agree.

      @michaelahurt Před 2 měsíci +1

LeBron from 2015-17 was impossible because you couldn't stop him from scoring without bringing help and he made the right play damn near every time when you did.
That's the same as Jokic. There is never a right answer for the defense.
KD is a more complete *scorer* than LeBron ever was but there is a lot more to offense than individual scoring.
Luka is close but his decision making is just a tad worse. He forces shots that Jokic doesn't and LeBron didn't. You can goad him into playing hero ball and freezing out his teammates.
Plus he doesn't have the same kind of off ball value because he's not an active cutter or offensive rebounder. So if you *can* get the ball out of his hands he's not much of a threat.
But just in terms of being unstoppable with the ball in his hands, yeah, Luka is right there with anyone ever.
Also for reference Luka is +4.4 vs league average TS. LeBron was +10 in his best seasons and +4.7 in his year 6. Sometimes having one unstoppable skill is just as good as having a million counters because ultimately only the result matters.

Dallas and Denver would both be better with Luka and Jokic than OKC with Shai. Shai and Embiid are worth the most wins to their teams.

Trying to predict how teams or players will play in the playoffs as one of the criteria is one of the reasons a bunch of people *unconscionably* voted for Embiid over Jokic last year.
OKC is probably a 25 win team without SGA and 57 win team with him. That makes him as valuable as any player, even if he isn't quite as good as Luka or Jokic.
(Although I think he's closer to Luka than the consensus. He's a more efficient scorer; borderline All-Defense instead of a negative on defense; never turns the ball over; his team is better; and I think he is better at elevating his teammates. Luka sets guys up for easy shots but Shai makes the game easier for them. It's a slight but important distinction.)

Jokic is a great player. But he’s not carrying the second youngest team in the league to the #1 seed. I won’t be mad if he wins it because I don’t really give a rip. But to say it’s a foregone conclusion when his team are last season’s champions just isn’t doing justice to SGA and what he’s done for the Thunder.

Jokic should be getting his 4th straight MVP, but the MVP has always been a bit wonky.
For background: Jordan won league MVP in only 4 of his 6 NBA championship seasons. In the 2 seasons he didn't win, he went on to beat the league MVP in the finals. In 1993, Charles Barkley won league MVP and lost to Jordan in the finals. In 1997, Karl Malone won the league MVP and then lost to Jordan in the finals.
Jordan is the ONLY player to win league MVP, a scoring title, first team all defense, finals MVP, and a ring in the same season. Oh, yeah and he did that 4 times (should have been 6 as outlined above).
With all that, Jordan only won 5 league MVPs and only ever 2 in a row. Jokic should have gotten 4 in a row and will soon have 3 in total. His play in the last few seasons has demonstrably demonstrated he's one of the best ever.

Btw, if Nuggets were to play in this eastern Conference - they'll be even more dominant then Celtics are.
Western conference is SOOO much stronger, i believe Lakers,Phoenix,Clippers,Kings, even Mavs,GSW,Pelicans would be #2 there, not to mention OKC and Wolves...So, with Nuggets - that's a total of 10 teams better of Cleveland,Bucks,Knicks etc.
Anyway, Nuggets are winning this c'ship, whoever is theire opponent in the finals...100% !!!
And the reason was named in this video - NO OTHER TEAMS HAVE JOKER! That's it - simple as that!!!

Frankly, I wouldn't mind having either Jokic or Giannis. Embiid has a history of injury too large to overcome. One of the best players in the league constantly in a snazzy suit on my bench does me no good.
I know you are trying to discount stats to prove your point, but to say Giannis is a better winner than Jokic is incorrect. Giannis has a career .572 win percentage and Jokic is at.598.
You are correct that Embiid is 6-2 against Jokic to make the case that he is better. But I'm curious why you don't apply that same logic when Jokic is 10-5 against Giannis.
If you prefer Giannis, no problem. He's damn good. But record wise and statistically, Jokic brings an awful lot to the table that's hard to argue with.
