      Day 5 "Off-Grid"
      (no power 77077)
We still have -late 19th Century technology- electric poles for cables on rural areas and cities, exposed transformers and unprotected generators (from air, rain and winter)...
I am not sure if ERCOT includes every company that owns the infrastructure in Texas, but they have had plenty of time to rebuild, modernize and ultimately develop a network that has the capacity to supply the growing demand and a reliable grid across our State.
My comments are not about "bashing" or calling for people to be fired... the intention is to instill in the companies the will to Build systems with the high-quality that American ingenuity and American products used to have..
      ● A few years ago, more than 70 people died during a winter storm. Generators, transformers and cabling could not cope with temperature and ice... The same thing can happen on sunny weather with the existing infrastructure.
Our governor and officials sent "thoughts and prayers" and a promise to push electric companies under ERCOT to update the grid.
After his reelection, Texas is still waiting

It’s important to hear this because he shows how the gov is lying and meteorologist is in accurate the winds were stronger than cat 2 in Houston which they told us was tropical storm winds on the news. Fam that works for centpoint told me they told them I was cat 3-4 winds when we got hit. Forecast has been inaccurate as you can see lately in house they say it’s going to rain and it doesn’t or they say it 10% rain and it rains for hours when they say 75% chance of rain and it doesn’t t rain at all. Back when doplar radar was good it was accurate not any more systems are out dated models are inaccurate I also herd center point was told to treat the system as a thunderstorm you can get what I’m saying I hope. This is all bad reguardless.

@@USA.RE3 Texas Public Utility Commission: (Google the number)
PUC won't be much help with this outage, except that it puts your complaint into the public record.
Be sure to state that your complaint is not that you don't have power, but rather Centerpoint continuously fails to provide the infrastructure and resources needed to communicate with the public. They refuse to build a basic website that can communicate with their customers in the middle of an outage. They don't provide enough call center people to take phone calls, they don't disseminate basic information to employees to pass on to customers.
(Not to mention they can't provide reliable service).
Your call to PUC won't fix your problem today, but by getting your complaint into the public record, it makes it harder for the politicians to claim "there is no problem, the grid is working great".
It's not working great. It's terrible. It's fragile, unreliable, and more expensive to the consumer than it has to be.

    • @uneedahug5420
      @uneedahug5420 Před 26 dny +4

Yeah. Spot on. ERCOT and Texas railroad commission and the governor are clearly either just terrible at communicating or they are beyond remorse for what they do with the energy trading prop shops that all moved to Houston after JPM got a huge fine manipulating power prices in the northeast.
Last night, they sold a lot of power around 3am central. More than the ‘storage’ says is even available.
And they won’t fix power to homes that have an external connection until that home owner buys that part, 770k homes without power need that part. It is sold out across the nation.
Why they don’t invest in fixing that kind of thing? Cause then they can’t export all the extra power out of state when they have to power their own and they get paid to export, not to invest locally .
