- I loved playing this one in the set. I remember adding a middle pickup to the Jeff Senn Tele I had at the time to get closer to Albert Lee’ sound. Its a great exercise in pivoting from the 1 chord in this case G to the b7 chord ( F ) and implying the major 7 in the F chord…

It takes a tremendous amount of dedication to learn and play others’ songs well. It’s really a gift. Thank you, Jedd, for sharing it with us. Good stuff.
Jedd, I’ve never been a country fan until finding your channel. Every time you mention a tune, or record you like, I check it out. I’m hearing so many beautiful songs for the first time. Thank you!
Hey Jedd, I was fortunate enough to find you through your recent gig with Tom and Guthrie. Better late than never.
Your playing is really mesmerizing and beautiful and inspiring. I also think you're a compelling story teller, not to mention a great singer and songwriter.
Sorry to gush, but I feel like I lose time while listening to your playing. Keep up the good work, you have a special gift. You share that with Uncle Larry.
Wow, what a sweet message. Thank you mate, so glad you are over here in the shed!
Thanks so much Jedd....a direction to go in and explore
I just rewatched the version from the Austin City Limits show, the guitar you were playing was like an Esquire with a middle pickup thrown in. What a great tone that had, you killed it, really is a moving solo Jedd, awesome job!
great performance czcams.com/video/ERWn1C0zRQI/video.html
Very cool. I just worked up a little arrangement of “For No one.”
Big Emmylou fan here. I have learned so much about guitar and music from her songs. Really started getting into her music as guitar was starting to make sense to me.
Has the most lush tone ever" man these strings are shot" lol
Superb Jedd, that B-Bender sounds beautiful in those hands of yours....
Thanks Dave!
Thanks Dave!
Jedd, you have great ear for beautiful harmony. Lovely stuff. I could listen to your noodling for hours.
Just viewed you today on ACL with Emmylou Harris and OMG that red tele of yours was on fire!! Wow. Singing, song writing, smoking hot guitar slinger, you are amazing 😎😎!
He's got some great solos on that one, and incredible tele tone.
Thanks for sending me looking at those ACL performances. Jedd, you and the steel player totally burned on “Ain’t Living Long Like This”! What a joy to watch, could stop smiling.
Having Emmylou sing a melody back to you must be the thrill of a lifetime!
Absolutely!
Great intro
Absolutely gorgeous playing Jedd. Will have to save this one and try a few of those ideas on the opening jam. All the best from the UK.
cheers michelle! thanks for tuning in!
Tasty playin’. 🤙🤙❤️
Coincidently, I was listening to Emmylou and the Hot Band perform Tulsa Queen when this video notification popped up.
Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful day also happy independence day to the United states ❤😊
love it jedd
Good job man! haha
haha I very much appreciate that “how to” email mate! haha
Have a great 4th Jedd and stay safe!
Such great music in your hands Jedd…and that guitar sounds luscious, bad strings… how much for original jh used strings?!😁
Love your playing, especially through that Ellis neck pick up!!
Love that pickup!
This got me thinking about something interesting that might run through a lot of Emmylou's music. The G here establishes key or tonal center but in fact it could be the 5 chord, with the F being the 4 and C being the 1. Maybe who cares at the end of the day but sparks the thought process of why does this sound the way it does. I might make a case she builds the tonal center around the 5 chord which makes the 1 chord (the C) sound completely new and interesting. I know she's not the only person who has ever done this in music but to my mind helps explain a little bit more of her signature sound (or at least 1 piece of it). When I play a G scale with the flat 7th it sounds like the melody notes that are implied here. So maybe it's in G but in G mixolydian or the key of G7 (while we'r at it). I'm not great with modes and all but whatever it is, it's great - love way the melody speaks, those double stops and how you can keep it all in time.
Love it mate! I say whatever gets the creative wheels rolling. Reminds me of Romeo and Juliet the Knopfler song..how he plays out of open tuning but its tuned to the 4 of the key If I remember right?
@@JeddHughesOfficial yes! I need to go learn that one including the tasty lead work on the outro, he does some cool double stops there too.
There’s a ACL video of this which is great. Would be cool to know about the Silver Senn Tele you are playing In that video which has a bridge and a middle pickup
One that got away, such a freakishly great tele that one but a good mate of mine has it and loves it
Here's a live video of you playing this with Emmylou!

Thanks again Jedd! Getting to hear you play and hear what’s on your mind about it is a real privilege and has become my favorite way to greet the day! I kinda feel like I should be paying you for a unique type of incredibly effective psychological therapy! 😂lol (funny, but no joke)!😊
That made my day
Good news, I don't need lessons right now. LOLOL I actually never took one in my life, 50+ years playing guitar. I am a notorious copy cat though. It started early, watch, listen, learn. It's all those dots on paper that make me nervous. 8) --gary PS; It would always be great to hang out though!! 8)
Living on Tulsa time ✌🏻🎸🎶
The neck pu sounds that enter at 1:11…sigh. Good sigh, mate!
Thanks mate!
Would you use triad pairing to play along these chords?
Is that a Fender White studio deluxe behind you?
Im not sure mate, its the twin pickup version with the blender control
