  • Need help deciding which kind of food you should get for your Boston Terrier? Watch this!
In this video, I talk with veterinarian Dr. Addie Reinhard about how to choose the right dog food for a Boston Terrier. The goal of this video is not to tell you which brand of dog food to feed your dog but to help you learn the right way of choosing a dog food for your Boston Terrier. Just know that each Boston is totally different. What is great for one dog is not ideal for the next. And choosing a dog food is a little bit of a trial and error until you find the perfect match for your pet.

Willow eats raw food supplemented with fish oil. Treats are bacon, dried beef liver and dried chicken hearts. She has bacon and eggs whenever I have that for a meal. She's super active, happy and healthy.

I feed my BT with Orijen Dry Dog Food Original (one meal), and the other meal I give her rice with cooked chicken: meat + liver + hearts and some carrots. Once a month I cook this food in my Instant Pot and I freeze it into portions. She absolutely prefers cooked meal over kibbles.

Our pup is not quite 2 yrs old and has had a lot of digestive issues/ food sensitivities ( chicken being one of them). We finally found a food that he tolerates well, and it’s gone out of production because of supply chain issues. I was amazed at the number of dog foods that contains chicken or chicken byproduct even though it’s not the primary protein source!
I am now transitioning him to Natural Balance limited Ingredient diet. My goal is to eventually supplement his kibble with home cooked, so that I don’t have to go through these transitions every time a company can’t obtain necessary ingredients. 🤦🏻‍♀️

We kept our 3- 4yr old rescue has been with us for 4 months. We kept the diet the shelter gave him - Hills Science Sensitive Stomach and Skin Adult. He is very active, runs at full speed, and we walk at a fast pace about 2 miles per day. We fed him 2 cups a day and noticed He was gaining 1lb per month and approaching 30lbs. We reduced the portion to 3/4xtwice a day and this is bringing his weight down, currently 27.8 and will adjust again if needed once we reach and maintain 25lbs. We have not changed his diet and as this one is going well, don’t think we will test other feeds. His only challenge is licking of his paws which has reduced with fall season thus think is grass or air allergies rather than food related.

Can home made food be good? Brown rice, chicken, green beans and carrots. I feed my older dogs this on occasion. Getting my boston at the end of the month.

My pup is so picky, I can't stay on one diet. She gets bored so quickly. Its so frustrating. She will go 2 days without eating sometimes if she doesn't want to, and I have tried EVERYTHING. spoke to vet who has no other ideas. Not sure what to do at this point. She is so stubborn.

@@rebeccaswafford1107 hmm I would go for some raw(meats) and some cooked. If she doesn't eat I would force her. If it becomes a problem like weight loss or other symptoms I would go to a vet. There might be a problem, i haven't heard of a dog that would turn her/his nose on food unless it was some shitty kibble.

I have a teacup chihuahua that eats Blue Small Breed Senior food. She keeps herself rather thin. Been this way her entire life. I’m about to bring home a BT puppy, and picked up a bag of Baby Blue puppy food. It’ll be too difficult to feed them separately, so both dogs will eat the puppy food. I’m hoping the extra calories will be good for my senior dog.

My Boston is four months old and he eats his food extremely fast. I feed him a half cup of food twice a day. Is this normal for Boston’s? Also he gets hiccups a lot. Is this another thing Boston’s do?

    Hi.
    Can anyone recommend
Beta Small Breed Dry Puppy Food Chicken 2kg
    for 8 weeks BT?
We live in UK and in our local pet store there's lots of brands, but names tells me nothing. We should collect our puppy from breader in next week, so I'm trying to prepare myself. I asked them and they said that Molly likes BETA food, but i wish to confirm that dry food is suitable for that young dog.

Did you ever have issues walking your dog? Mine is 2 years old and I walk her often and I still have problems. She pulls like crazy and exhausts herself within like a few minutes. She doesn't just walk nicely next to me it's always hectic and she's always pulling like crazy. If you have any tips please help! I would love to take her out in public more often but it's very embarrassing when she's pulling me and sometimes barking from excitement.

Oh, yes, Bella pulls too. We used this leash in this video and it helps with the pulling because of the harness...czcams.com/video/LTHcPzHQjdc/video.html I have also heard about people having success with the harnesses where the clip is basically under their belly.

We got our first boston nov. 2020 and when we take her for walks she pulls and chokes herself. Our other dog we have (lab mix) does the same thing and we tried the harness that clips in the front by her chest. It worked for her so we tried on our boston and it works great with her too. She still pulls a little but is alot more controllable and doesn't choke herself.
