For me the knife was long before. A question that has brewed in me as I’ve discussed QB selection by Mario among folks, but have avoided conflict is… “Would you hire Anthony Brown to run your NFL offense?”

Utah uniforms were among the coolest I have ever seen.
It's too bad they were a one time thing. Quite honestly, I think it should be a tradition and there should, in my opinion, be another special jersey made for honoring the USS Utah that sunk in Pearl Harbor. The two ships representing Utah aren't widely known in the history books, but Utah was the first casualty of December 7th and got the Japanese to waste 5 torpedoes at her (she was a training ship at that point in her career and wasn't a battle worthy asset) and the USS Salt Lake City kicked names and took a*s.
This loss by Oregon has opened the door for Cincinnati to get them into the top 4 of the college football playoff rankings
The only real team in Ohio resides in Columbus. Cincinnati is a typical fake team built on winning against subpar teams. Just another UTSA, BYU fraud team.

Cincinnati has done what they should . They've won all their conference games. Just beat a good SMU team , and have a win against a then top 10 ranked Notre Dame , at Notre Dame . They at least deserve a chance. Bama has a loss to a then unranked in conference opponent in Texas A&M . They barely survived Arkansas today. Next week is the Iron Bowl with Auburn . Next week will be very interesting.

At least the pac12 has had two teams make playoff appearances. The Big 12 only has OU.

@@Burrgametate not sure if you can back that up this year. Michigan state just got boat raced by OSU, and most of the top 10 had a similar resume to them. OSU Bama and Georgia are in a league of their own. If Utah keeps playing this way they have a legit shot of being top ten by the end of the year.

@@PapiFlossy Some of Oregon's biggest critiques are from its fans; 38 points is not a little, but it's also not unbeatable by the Ducks' standards, historically speaking. The bigger issue is the "7" points from an offense that is very clearly handicapped by its QB who has never displayed any sustainable flash as a passer. All those 3-and-outs gave the Utes more chances to score

As a Utah Ute Alumni (class of 2012,) I was nervous about this game. Oregon has always been tough for us. I think we should our strength yesterday. I was definitely hyped.
Utah QB is pretty legit
He is only a sophomore and the rest of the team is extremely young. To be honest I'm surprised how well they are doing overall this year. now, A lot of it is the entire conference having a down year. But the Utes are breaking every expectation I have had. I am excited to watch the end of this season. - have my Dec 3rd tickets already - and especially excited for 2022.
Thank you Utes for proving to majority of Ducks fans that their team wasn’t that great at all. I was called a “hater” for the past 3-4 weeks for saying Ducks don’t belong in the top 10, especially in the top 4 CFB rankings!! Congrats Utes.

Kind of a silly comment when THAT’s your QB, and the guy without whom they’d have been pretty ordinary on offense. I get that he’s not a great thrower and can be inconsistent but at his best he and his legs in the rpo made this team more than the sum of its parts, maximizing the potential of a number of other players.
It would have been nice if ABC would have shown in real time the salute to our two Utah players that happens between 3rd & 4th quarter. Very moving and the Ducks showed pure class.
As a die-hard Oregon fan who has been to 100+ games at Autzen, I'm glad Oregon lost. This is not a championship team. For a while the RB committee kept them afloat and hid the absolute train wreck that is Brown as a QB, but Verdell going down really torpedoed us. Despite this year being one where there are a lot of decent teams but no great ones, Oregon isn't even decent (playoff wise, they're clearly a good team in the grand scheme of things). I don't think we need to see Brown any more, either. The season is shot and hes a senior.
Nothing against the Ducks but you are right they were not playoff caliber. This does open a slot for possible more competitive team. I wonder what people will say if Cinci moves into the fourth slot???
Stanford, who's terrible, beat them and even the Huskies who are having a down year, played them tough. The Duck Luck finally ran out.

Wldnt be too hard on Brown. This team was too reliant on him being great. And he was never gonna be a great passer. Had to start with his legs and Utah wrecked him pretty good early.
Much respect for sharing your honest opinion. As a buckeyes fan there were a couple seasons I didn't want us to be in the top 4 just to get beat down in front of a national audience. Yes, I know anything can happen and you gotta take advantage of every opportunity given but sometimes you gotta face reality.

even Clemson, who’s obviously won a couple CFPs, has been smoked twice in semifinals. It’s not a badge of shame or futility unless it’s all you do. Unless I’m mistaken Oregon and Washington are the only Pac 12 teams to make it. Huskies got manhandled but Oregon beat down FSU before getting stomped by OSU in the first playoff

Cincinnati was beating SMU (a very good G5 team that would beat a lot of ranked Power 5 teams) 48-0 at one point before completely letting their foot off the gas and allowing SMU to score 2 garbage time touchdowns. Cincy will probably not win their playoff game but they can keep it competitive they proved that against UGA in the Peach Bowl last year.

As a Utah fan, I’d have to say that Oregon was having a bad day and we had a great day. I’m not sure that overall, Utah is a better team, they just played better in this game. That Anthony Brown Jr. is a great play maker. It’s gonna be interesting to watch the Pac-12 ship.

I took my dad to the game, and on that last 3rd down before the half, I turned to him and said:”Watch, The ducks are going to punt it, and covey will bring it back for a TD” and when it happened everyone lost their shit. It was one of the best moments in Rice Eccles stadium I have ever experienced.

Oregon always gets into the top 5 and then chokes in the big games.
People tend to forget Utah was top 15 in the AP poll pre-season, so this is kinda expected. But this doesn’t mean Oregon just flat out sucks either, both are really good teams.
Next week is rivalry week and it’ll shake things up again, but now the committee is forced to put Cincinnati at #4 even though they probably would get smacked by Georgia. So grab your popcorn because if Michigan beats OSU and Auburn beats Alabama and Oklahoma St beats Oklahoma, it would be completely chaotic

Oregon is quickly becoming the USC of the north. They aren't done losing yet or blowing up skill position players with NCI's either. I can't decide what's more impressive. That Oregon has won this many games with that qb or that they haven't been able to find a competitive starter since Herbert. They have gone from an up tempo offense to a delay of game offense. Tempo was a gimmick anyway, obviously.
