yes added a shelf In my room next to my window with 5 plants feel like it makes you so much happier but one of them not looking good LOL😂 i think i killed it😅 i put a stick in it to make it stay up but it just looks not good 😂
chek the leaves everyday or every other day to make sure theres no pests and so on. Be aware

I'm a huge plant fan so it's so great seeing other people enjoying plants too! Just to let you know, all of the plants that you picked up including the pothos you had before are toxic so make sure the kiddos (or any pets you might get in the future) don't try to eat them! Also planting them directly into the funky-shaped pots means it's a lot harder to re-pot them once they get bigger, I personally put the original black pots inside of the decorative ones which also allows for more drainage so you don't get fungus gnats (trust me, they're really annoying). Happy planting!!!

Love that you’re getting into your plant girl era!! When propagating pathos it’s helpful to remove the leaves that get submerged in the mason jar water, they can easily rot underwater. The leaves and stems should come off pretty easily from the main stem or you can cut them with scissors 🤷🏼♀️
I think thrifting some cool hardcover books to add to the shelf would be so cute! Maybe adding a picture frame or an aesthetic plant mister/watering can too.

Zz plants are sooo easy. Water once or twice a month and they can be split simply.
Snake and spider plants are also faves of mine. You could even split that snake plant if you need more.

Is it common in America to directly plant the plants into the planter? In Germany we leave them in the nursery/ planting pots and then put them in the planter. So the excess water can leave the soil and the roots doesn't rot
I’m in California and I do the same thing. I’ve never repotted into the decorative container

For smaller plants if you plant it directly into the decorative pot wait a few minutes after you water and then tip it over and let the excess water drain out works like a charm
I actually kept most of them in the original pot and just placed it in the decorative one with it! Like the birds of paradise plant 🥰 and little ones I made a hole at the bottom to make sure they all have proper drainage! I just need to thrift maybe two plates for the bottom of some 💕
Welcome to plant parenthood. No trip to the grocery store will ever be the same as you might just need to peek at the plant section to see if there is anything interesting that can fill that one spot you have in mind. I have 60+ plants at home and a 5 month old. Both plants and baby are thriving. A neon pothos in the disco ball planter would look great. Also philodendron micans are trailing plants, velvety and fast growers. I think you will love them. Maybe a pot for your wicker chair on shelf. Love your content and family. Thank you for sharing them. You spread lots of joy.
Peace lily are really easy to look after and they flower 😍 also philodendron and ‘sting of’ plants are super beautiful

If youre a beginner plant mom, i recommend keeping your plants in the nursary pots and just using the other pots as a cover pot. This will prevent you from over watering and root rotting your plants. Its okay not to have drainage but youll need to water very carefully and a layer of leca at the bottom would be better.

I think any type of monstera, fiddle fig ,snake plant, or pothos look best in a simple home. If you’re going to get yourself a fiddle fig or a Monstera, you might as well go full plant mom and order a Wi-Fi outlet timer a swag light cord and a 32W sansi grow light bulb with the metal swag light hanging stand-off peg. You can put that shell chandelier around the bulb you just got at the thrift store. My grow light looks super clean and it took me five minutes to set up everything. And I can put any shade on it I like, and it just looks like the lamp hanging.

Someone already suggested peace lillies, which are super easy to look after. They're a bit dramatic; when they need water they droop all over the place, but give them a drink and they perk back up in under an hour, so they're good for people who tend to overwater plants, as they really let you know when they're thirsty.
Another plant recommendation is calatheas; they come in heaps of beautiful variegated varieties, and they're pretty easy to look after 😊

I loved this! I'm always looking to add plants to my home. You should get an aesthetic watering can, plant mister and a couple gardening books for the shelf. I feel like thriving books is so underrated.
Books about houseplants to go on the shelf. I’ve found a TON at thrift stores, and it will help add height and dimension
For the beautiful white plant shelf you got, I think a few beautiful books (even if you thrift a few that have pretty covers or taking the covers off and leaving those solid colored rims!) it adds such a homey classy look, too!

You can keep them in the plastic pots so they can drain into your cover pots. And the dirt is good for your immunity, if you don’t mind using your hands and then just washing after ❤

Plant momma 🪴 just a quick tip for your pothos propagation! Cut the bottom leaves off where the stems are sitting in the water so they don’t rot!

Get a neon or marble queen pothos for the shelves.. it’ll be cute trailing ◡̈
Chinese evergreen is also super easy and there’s so many different color varieties

I would recommend African Violets for a little splash of color and Chinese Money Plants are great too
Take the leaves off the part of your pothos cuttings that are in the water - they will rot otherwise. Just pluck them off and that's where the roots will come from.

I would put some decor items on the shelves as well. I have a tall bookshelf in front of my windows with books, picture frames, and a few crystals. Each shelf has a couple plants along with the decor. I get compliments on how nice it looks. 😊
Loved the video! In terms of styling the shelf I love a good coffee table book (maybe on on plant care) and things like wooden anicmal sculptures if that is your thing :)

A great affordable place to buy plants is at Trader Joe’s. I’ve gotten most of my indoor plants there. Depending on the day, you’ll find different things. But they often have Monsteras, Fiddle Leaf Figs, Rubber Trees, Olive trees, and Pathos. Also, monsteras are the easiest to propagate. I’ve given so many away as gifts!

You could put any decor pieces, books styled or more plants. Just don’t go crazy at first if they are your first plants. 😂🤣❤️ CZcams and Google will be your best friend for info on diff plants. Also trial and error, trust me. 🙂

18:50 you will also definitely learn as you go :-) I’ve been a plant mum for almost 2 years and I am converting everything to semi hydro (pon and Leca but Leca mainly).
My big Monstera Deliciosa Thai constellation and Monstera Borsigana Albo are so happy in Leca (clay balls). I am obsessed in looking at their roots.

I’m a new plant mama!! Im trying my best not to kill them thought I have killed two succulents 🥲!! I do have one succulent that is alive that my mom gave me and I’m growing lavender from seeds ☺️!! The front of my house has 3 common boxwood that have kind of formed into 1 big one, looks so nice!! Love all the plants and how you decorate it!! TFS and crafty hugs ❤️🤗!!
