About Dead by Daylight:
Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4 vs 1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught and killed.

Which killer do you main and why?
Oni, because he looks really cool, he’s an upper tier killer, and he’s fun 💀
Freddy Fazbear because I love how he works on cams
Knight, because I like the chase aspect of him.
Unknown right now. I have had dbd for a while now but never really got into it until recently. I love his simplicity and complexity at the same time. It's so fun to play mind games with survivors as you teleport with hallucinations and play around with the multitude of different shots with the UVX.
Spirit because I like making Survivors Suffer :)
Edit 1 Thanks For 15 Likes 👍
POV: you own every single killer and still watch the whole video🤓
only killer I don't own are the unknown and vecna but I still will watch the whole video. 😂
The only killer i don't have is Freddy, and i don't think i ever will.
POV: you don't own the game and have no plan to, but still watch it
Bro fr 💀💀
Omm
I bought about half the roster during the sale, And as a brand new killer this video is a godsend. I have about 25 hours or so into killer and am loving this. I will continue to main artist and nemesis
yeah it was good to buy them during the sale, not worth buying at full price. I got everything I was missing from not playing over 3 years during the last big sale where we could buy everything individually. Now you have to buy everything in a bundle, which should overall be cheaper for the older Killers iirc.
Fun fact about new STBFL; Landing a spear as Deathslinger takes tokens. Meaning if you spear, hit, spear, down your obsession, you can lose all 8 stacks in a single chase.
Another fun fact, I have buy the shape (I don’t know how to write his name right) just for STBF on slinger before the nerf, and when I have P1 him to use on slinger the next day the nerf came
@@Pedro4041-r6x Ouch. That sucks man. Yeah, Myers is kinda garbage now.
@@Pedro4041-r6x Yeah it is very frustrating when you finally get a character, level them up with over a million bloodpoints, get that perk to tier 3 on another character through more blood points.. and then the developers nerf that perk. It is one of the most frustrating parts about DBD for sure.
@@mudkipajm3946don’t let anyone fool you, infinite tier 3 myers is absolutely op and easily in my opinion one of the strongest killers in game imo. If you can get to infinite tier 3 there is genuinely nothing the survivors can do because now you’re extremely fast and insta downs

Kyto: explaining skull merchant perks
Me: too distracted by what the survivors are trying to do to pay attention
yeah?! what were they doing there? a ritual?
@@SK-ij6nghaha, its Sable’s invocation perk :)
agitation is better than what you explained, for a lot of killers that don't go 4.6 m/s its hard to get to a hook if you have a well-coordinated team that can take hits and there are no hooks nearby, and in high mmr this is very common. if youre playing nurse its almost required to bring agitation. just take supaalf's nurse streak for example, he was running agitation the whole streak
The time you gain during a whole game is underrated, same for the pressure you get with the free hit people don't expect you to pull off. I really like it, but at the same time my build is already full so I'm never using it
My go to build is no way out / lethal pursuer / pain res / bbq on most of my killer. I don't see any perk here that could be replaced with agitation
All killers have the same movement speed while carrying (3.68 m/s - 92% movement speed).
Agitation is definitely underrated though but I don’t feel it’s necessary at all especially for newer players that don’t understand how to utilize it effectively!
@@KytoYT oh, my mistake. it still is pretty good though for the reasons i mentioned, in high mmr you can get screwed over with just a few hits and poorly placed hooks
@@jjoshu_aI agree! Underrated perk
@@KytoYTRare Kyto W
Thank you I was waiting for a updated one for a long time !
I think the trappers complexity should be a 2-3 because a bad trapper and a good trapper is literally night and day.
It takes great map knowledge and elite game sense to place traps correctly and know how to pressure survivors into traps.
What you’re referring to is difficulty. Complexity in this video is how hard their kit is to understand on a fundamental level. He just has bear traps that he can place down, there no additional numbers or mechanics you have to memorize
@@KytoYTyou should’ve reframed it as a skill curve. Trapper has a somewhat steep curve,
@@shosc16did you just say trapper has a steep learning curve 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Loved the video, small correction, the trapper starts with 2 traps normally, up to 3 with the bag, and up to all of them with the sack.
Kyto: the Xenomorph doesn’t interact with the survivors and its tail attack is so uncounterable.
Bro there are literal flame thrower turrets that spawn around the map that you can use to fight the killer, and the tail attack is very much counterable with mindgames and simply holding W. How on earth is a killer you use flame throwers against not interactive?
Survivors don’t tend to know how to use them properly, so you won’t really have to deal with that often
@@KytoYT so because people don’t know how to place turrets that makes the killer not interactive?
@@dunktastic7942 To me, yes. I prefer playing killers that have interactive, telegraphed chase abilities
Fr lmao if you miss your tail it gives the survivor so much time to run away
@@KytoYTso it’s the survivors fault then, aliens got some decent counters and not to mention the hitbox on the tail can be very janky
Fun fact, I once met a deaf and colorblind Spirit main😂
I've never *heard* of that before

Amazing video, loved the work and the order, im kinda acoustic and i really like how organized every detail of the video is, i already have all the killers and saw the video anyway cause i wanted to hear your opinion 👍🏾
thank you for postinngggg ( i love your videos kyto )
Light born allows you to counter flashbangs, which are uncounterable unless the person using the flashbang messes up.
Do a 180 spin before picking up, don't pick up near survivors, bait the save, face a wall, and sometimes you just get unlucky or outplayed.
Yeah but then you still have someone with background player come out of nowhere and it gives you no time to react
@@smithbabies7886 spin does nothing against anyone decent, cant just not pick up near survivors if you dont know, and doing that and baiting save takes way too much time to do 12 times in a match. Also facing a wall doesnt do anything against flashbang
@@Hellwalkingwhen it comes to flash bangs I don’t think you should worry about background player anymore unless you’re 100% sure it’s in play
Yes but he's still right getting used to light born is not healthy and most ppl don't run flashbangs and the few that do half of those few are still trying to get good with flashbangs so lightborn is good for what it does but it's ultimately not healthy for the long run
Just bought some auric cells thank you so much I needed this
Love the content you help me so much sometimes trying to pick out my characters and my perks
Good video I have 8 killers I need to get and that is helpful info about them, keep up the good work!
I wanted to share some Ghostface tips for those thinking about picking him up. I know he tends to be a popular choice for a lot of players and, simultaneously, a character that gets dropped before people can understand him. So, for those of you that want to stick around, here's some pointers. Lengthy comment ahead:
- Try not to fall into the trap of Stabface. That's not where this killer excels. Ghostface is a set-up + ambush killer not a chase oriented killer. Whenever you fully mark someone you should, ideally, be able to get the jump on them or at least keep the chase short.
- Don't think of your stealth as only a tool for mindgames during chase; It's much more than that. Ghostface is the only killer in the game that has stealth on command with no punishment. (Pig needs to be crouched, Myers needs to be in Tier 1 or use an Add-On , Wraith needs to uncloak to be able to attack, etc). Pretend like DBD is suddenly a stealth game and you can't let the bad guys see you or its game over.
- Observe your opponents. Is the Meg more paranoid than the rest? Is the Jake more self-aware? Is Felix an absolute air-head that just started playing the game? The more you can gather from how someone plays the better you know how to approach them. Playing survivor also helps with the needed mentality so make sure to do that as well.
- Practice with bots. Get familiar with maps. The more obscure routes you're aware of the higher your chance to sneak up on people.
- Remain unpredictable. Approach gens from different angles. Have you been staying in one area for a long time? Every Survivor will know to expect you there but you know where they won't expect you? On the other side of the map. Anything you can do to keep them guessing: Do it.
- Marking a survivor doesn't always mean a chase. If you can pull off a silent mark (meaning the marked Survivor hasn't seen you) then that puts them in a panic and gives every survivor a sense of ease because: "Surely the Ghostface is chasing the marked survivor now!". Them dropping their guards is where you shine.
- Play survivor. Understand why Survivors do some of the things they do. It'll help you in the long run.
Add-Ons:
Stay away from Philly & Cheap Cologne. They create very bad habits, especially for beginners.
Philly - Decreases time required to mark a survivor by 20%. This can mess up setting up 99's reliably. That might not matter when you start playing but old habits die hard and you don't want to chain yourself to an Add-On.
Cheap Cologne - Increases marked duration by 10 seconds. I know it's hard to let go of someone you marked but you shouldn't be chasing a survivor for the entire length of your mark duration. Sometimes letting them get away is a lot more beneficial.
Keep an eye out for these Add-Ons:
Walleye's Matchbook - Decreases Night Shroud Recovery by 6 seconds.
Olsen's Wallet - Breaking a Pallet or Wall gives you your power back.
Victim's Detailed Route* - After being marked, Survivors are inflicted with Exhausted for 5 seconds. (amazing counter to Sprint Burst)
Drop-Leg Knife Sheath - Ghostface gains 10% movement speed for 5 seconds. (Good for closing in distance. Not extremely necessary but a fun Add-On)
Driver's License - If you fully mark a Survivor working on a gen, that gen looses 20% progress and gets blocked for 15 seconds. (bonus points for jumpscare potential)
Outdoor Security Camera - The aura's of all Survivors are revealed for 7 seconds after the marked person was downed. (information is king on Ghostface)
Finally:
Don't get discouraged by difficult matches.
Ghostface is painted as a simple M1 killer but I'd argue he offers the most complexity of them all with new things that you can always learn. I disagree with Kyto saying he doesn't have anything that unique as you won't get a better stealth experience than Ghostface in this game. But maybe that's up to personal interpretation. He also suffers because of Survivor communication the most due to relying so much on ambushing. And, like every M1 killer, you need to be on top of creating your own map pressure which can be a bitch.
If you think you'd enjoy a playstyle that includes: Multitasking, planning ahead while also being prepared to switch up that plan on a whim, stealth & jumpscares; then Ghostface is for you.
If not you won't get much enjoyment out of him because chasing as Ghostface is like shooting yourself in the foot. Perks can win you games but eventually you'll get put against players *way* above your skill level and you'll end up like a lot of Ghostface players do: Dropping the killer.
Just know I really did appreciate reading all this and plan to keep all this in mind. Thank you!

Nuh uh Kyto I actually have to disagree with the Billy take, he is arguably the 2nd best Killer now, purely because of the Oberdrive 🥺👉👈
I put him, 4th. Blight and nurse is a toss up for me, Spirit is 3rd or can even be 1st or 2nd, that is if you’ve master her to the 100%. If You can phase and tell where the survivor is down to the dot, uncounterable expect at a god pallet. But only a handful have that mastered.
Mr Duck continues to just pump out bangers!
Also stay hydrated
I think Otz did a video on trying to get the 5 stacks on pentimento a while ago. He did succeed eventually.
Love the video! It’s going to help me so much getting into new killers.
I’ve only had that happened once. Had a full hex build which they either needed to cleanse or be effed (Crowd Control, blood flavor, and Undying with Pentimento). Waited for them to cleanse the hexes and the regular totems then lit all 5 at once. By that time there was only 1 gen left.
Why would you make the thumbnail like that? I absolutely wouldn't recommend Blight to buy first.
Why give attitude?
The thumbnail has ghostface on one side and clown on the other for me…are different ppl seeing different things lol
I'm going to say something controversial but I say it basically any time I see someone say that singularity is 5000 IQ complex:
he isn't.
I personally recommend playing him as a chase killer early-game. Don't get attached to your cameras because they are easily sabotaged and replaceable.
Late-game, you can start leaning into your cameras more because there is less set-up time required, and you can be basically everywhere at once. It only requires simple map knowledge. I'd put his complexity at a 2. He is the killer I play when I want to turn my brain off because basically at any loop you can slap a camera on a wall and quickly tag the survivor, and then it's only a matter of time until you take them down.
Don't get too attached to the state of gooping everyone since it is easy to cleanse. And his upcoming buff makes the bonus overclock time from gooping everyone basekit. He's honestly going to be cracked.
edit: hey, callin' me out with the souls-like gameplay :p
Played him a few times cause I saw someone 3 gen with him. Too much work, too much slapping on camera, looking into them etc. I was like, man I don’t got this much time or about to constantly do all this 😂.
@@Timothee_Chalamet_CMBYN don't use your cameras for looking beyond a quick glance. Remember that if you're spending time just staring then that's time survivors are healing or working on gens.
Try slapping eyes onto the ends of loops when survivors approach them so they can't escape being tagged. After that, it's only a matter of time to down them. Also, unless you anticipate being hit with a palette, try not to warp to survivors from too close because the survivor always gets a two second head start. It's more of a gap-closer. And even in that situation, it's more ideal to backpeddle so you don't get stunned and either kick the palette and THEN warp to close the gap, or if they're just running from the loop, just simply warp to them then.
You'll get the hang of him, I believe in you!
Great vid, would love to see a survivor video next ❤

Great video! I have a few questions about some killers though, (mostly Pyramid-head) 1. If his complexity and difficulty are linked isn’t that the same with other killers, and if not once you understand him shouldn’t he probably be a 2/3 in difficulty? I do understand that it takes game knowledge but I feel like those two should be separate. And my second question is did you edit this by yourself or have an editing team because this video is insane! Again thanks for this masterpiece all love (no homo)
I edit every single one of my videos itself! And yes difficulty is somewhat tied to complexity since they’re similar, but for him in particular it’s a mix of having to keep track of all the complex things of his kit while also using a relatively difficult ability
Really nice video!
Love to see the re hashing of this video 🐻
If you add blood coil to trapper it makes winning and having fun much better cause if they try to deactivate your traps they still take damage so you can completely block exits and others stuff
Thanks for your perk recommendation👍
The best DBD YTer back at it again with the 🔥 content
Very good opener, validates this list a ton 🐻
I don't even play DBD anymore but I like you so I watched this from start to finish and liked it.
Hi! Decent DBD player here, so when I first started actively playing DBD and seeing which Killers to get I saw the Onryō, and me being a huge Ring fan, I had to get her. So as far as everything you’ve said about her, you’re pretty accurate to the experience I had with her when first playing. Her perks: yeah, they’re good, I would say they’re my favorite to use in combination with other gen control perks. Her strength: a bit confusing, when I first started to understand her abilities and her play-style I was still having trouble getting those kills. However I can say that I have picked up on certain tricks with her that I’ll pick back up on later. Her complexity: yep, pretty complex, she’s got so much going on with her, especially her add-on, but like you said with her having so many updates to her and having a lot of things to keep track of, you’re on the money. Difficulty: definitely a harder killer to play as for beginners, but don’t let that stop you I’d say. When I first started playing I was only playing “Very Hard” difficulty killers, and that does include Samara/Sadako. Now fun: she’s very fun once you get to know her play-style. Mind-gaming can be very tricky when against very skilled survivors, but if you’re an Onryō main, or are looking to play as her and you don’t know this trick, if you use hold onto the ability button to Demanifest while standing over a downed pallet, it’ll trick survivors into thinking you’re breaking it because the animation is very similar to actually breaking it. On top of the fact that teleporting to TV’s that are in front of survivors you were in chase with is so fun, and very satisfying when they’re caught off guard by it. So yeah, that’s my take on Onryō!
Bro this video is great, congratulations.
Please continue the How to series for older killers
Thanks for that video i was searching the whole internet for new players videos to help me and i didn't find 🐻
Thx for the information🐻
Can you do builds to do with all the killers?
This video is a must watch for a beginner i learned so many things honestly
As a Skull Merchant Player [Trying To Main] I pretty much agree with the points and placements. Skull is NOT for new players, and isn't fun for everyone [except me] given her playstyle and people leaving against her. However, if you do decide to play her, I have some tips that might help out:
- Drones cannot be placed 12 meters from Hooked Survivors or Other Drones If you try to set a new one near these, either your power will be disabled or the drone will fly to another location nearby at random. You can set drones near Generators and Exit Gates [even when it's powered on] but the drones near Generators will sometimes try to fly behind certain objects. It's a bit weird to understand properly
- Skull Merchants drones can actually be helpful for long loop chases. Place a drone at the loop spot to force survivors 2 options: Stay in the drone range or leave the loop. If they stay, the drone after 9-12 seconds will give them 3 Lock-On stacks, giving them a claw and injuring them [or deep wounds if already injured]. If they STILL won't run away, that's even better because survivors who walk in range of a drone with a claw attached lose 10% haste making them slower and easier to down. If you're smart, you can also use the 8 seconds of undetectable a drone gives you to do a bit of mind games
- Drones have 2 modes: Stealth and Scouting that you can see the aura of anywhere on the map. Stealth drones are in white, and will not detect crouching or still survivors but will be harder to spot for survivors. Scouting modes are orange, and will always detect survivors regardless of if they move or not, but will have bright orange lights that will make them easy to see
- Make sure you place Drones where they will get the most value either in commonly traveled areas, constant loop areas or entrances to certain areas. If your drone is somewhere far off with no value, recall it and use it for a better purpose
- Finally, most Skull Merchant killers use the same build so if you want a starting build here is what it is:
- Dissolution [Do NOT use oblivious add-ons if you use this]
- Corrupt Intervention
- Pop Goes The Weasel
- The last perk is a fill perk but most commonly used is: Bamboozle [Most Common], Ultimate Weapon, Brutal Strength, Jolt, Eruption, or Friends Til' The End
I’ve been maining SM since her release and I’d say she’s easier than Trapper…idk about how she’s not for new ppl as if she was some kind of blight or nurse mastery needed. Patrol gens and if you catch someone, quickly call one of the drones back and place it in the loop.
I am a P45 Deathslinger main and in my opinion, he could have his dificulty bumped up because he has a much smaller hitbox than huntress, meaning he can take more skill to play at a higher level and having to be more precise is harder for most. Slinger can also shoot through tiny cracks, which can allow more skill expression. I like to shoot through tiny cracks and holes and i think its balanced overall. Much love Kyto and have a great day.
This is perfect timing for me
Thanks for this video!🐻
Just a heads-up in regards to ruin: 100% regression speed means that the generator regresses at the same speed as if you kicked it. That is to say, 1/4 of the speed survivors repair at. You would need 400% regression speed to be able to match the repair speed of survivors.
36:50 holy shit bro that Claud using old dead gave me PTSD flashbacks
I mean your right for most thing that u said in the video but i dont think dredge is that bad xD i dont « main » dredge but i did play him for a long time and i think its just not really the type of character that you enjoy playing with because its not the same gameplay so i think you should give him an other chance and try to play him with a different build like a « sloppy butcher » build and some of hes addons to accelerate the charge of hes night fall ability and a little « pop goes the weasel » in there for gen kicking
thanks for the info, major help for new players🐻🐻
I just started playing, I hope this is a good tierlist
You put the best looking killer at the bottom 0~0 I know the perks aren't great but I think most her add-ons are good she can go stealth when deploying drone for 7 seconds, as well as monitor each area motion sensor that makes noise that make you have to interact with if not they are shot with the claw trap 1:31:05
Love the vid 🐻
Good video but im not to sure with some of the fun aspect parts :D
that’s totally fair!! everyone has different opinions on fun 🫡
At first I thougt the video has 14 minutes, then I saw that its actually 1 hour and 44 minutes. Keep this up and you will be recording 12 hours videos like Otz soon 😂
Really new DbD player here, just started around 3 weeks ago. Been loving your content and just wanted to drop a comment down here to hopefully boost this video and your channel a bit, because with how hefty this video was, you obviously deserve it.
Blight was the first killer that I picked up, never played Trapper or Wraith or any of the other starter killers (which I know is suboptimal since you might not learn all there is to being a killer), but I don't think Blight is THAT difficult. Yes most of the community agrees he's one of the hardest killers to learn and there's a bunch of muscle memory, Bump Logic, flicking you have to do, especially now that Hug Tech is gone, but after playing him for some odd 20 hours or so, I'm getting 4ks with a good portion of lobbies. I can comfortably do 90-180 flicks, comfortably make my way around Shack loops, and comfortably just down a lot of survivors in quick succession. Heck most of the times that I struggle are against bully squads, but even then I get 3ks in those games. Call it conceited or rose-tinted, but Blight doesn't seem too hard if you just read up on what he does, experiment, and watch tutorials on it. I don't know, is this normal to just pick up Blight that quickly? Maybe I'm missing out on a bunch of other muscle memory components and all that and I know I still have a long way until I hit the skill ceiling, but I feel like the skill floor isn't that high. Most of the time I don't even run add-ons so it's not like I'm crutching or anything. Looking forward to hear anyone's thoughts because it's just something that's been at the back of my head for a while when playing Blight.
I appreciate it. I hope my videos help! 💙
You literally just described a high difficulty killer experience. Playing 20 hours on a killer, reading, experimenting and watching tutorials is a lot and shows a very high difficulty. Sure if you main someone for 20 hours you will get good with him, but people who evenly play all or most killers and don't watch tutorials on specific killers, won't be that successful with them. I like playing Blight, but in my 350+ hours in the game I have a few hours at max on him.
Thwack is one of my favorite perks to find survivors while playing as Nemesis. It’s so useful in him. If your ever having trouble finding survivors, just break a breakable wall or pallet
Wouldn’t that apply to everyone and just not Nemesis lol
@@Timothee_Chalamet_CMBYN I feel it works best on him since he’s the undisputed best pallet shredder. He’s the only killer who who break pallets while still retaining movement without the use of an add on
Nice video Kyto. Myself and many others would say billy is way more powerful than you made him out to be. Many say hes on the level of blight in terms of strength
That’s totally fair! I’ll have to play him more
The skull merchant stuff was low hanging fruit and she really isn't that bad definitely needing of a rework though everything else was pretty good 🐻
Nice video 🐻 I know his perks are awful but I think you did Dredge a bit dirty. (I don’t think he deserves to be next to skull merchant)
Great list and amazing how much effort you put in.
Spirit imo should be much lower, probably a killer to stay away from for several hundreds of hours while learning others.
Demo is probably there because you just love him (...her? Is it confirmed..?).
For the rest all seems good, great advice for new players. Esp the perks are important for new people.
I'm not that good of a killer, but there was one killer I wanted for sure... The Trickster. But I always act like the ''You hate Trickster? I'll be your worst nightmare'' type of Trickster, so not a nice one at all XD. Throwing those blades does take some practice and I feel like the switch from blades back to the bat takes way too long, especially when you have a survivor in front of you.
…..huh? You can stop throwing blades and M1 in like a second……
as a hilbilly main in my opinion with the overdrive hillbilly is harder than the heat hilbilly, you have to learn how to use the speed in loops and can make you go into objects compared to just heating his chainsaw which is no that hard to manage
Lightborn isn't a noobtrap, its useful for a bunch of stuff, but yeah, learning to avoid the flashlight before using this perk is better than getting used to it first
Found the Light born user 😂
Huntress is my favorite, but the best build on her for me turns her into a stealth killer. You put the iridescent hatchet head and the wood fox, and she is undetectable whenever she reloads, has insta down hatchet but can only have one. The stealth has no cool down so it's easy to reset. By far my favorite huntress build.
I once got the 5 hexes rekindled with pentimento and it was sooo nice lmaoo
Fire up is one of my favorite perks it goes so well with so many other perks.
Dredge is on e of my favorite killers and I would say I am pretty decent with him, I think he's pretty good. I believe his entire character is based on mind games, knowing when to use your power, when to teleport back to it or undo it, and taking into account the survivors POV makes him a lot more difficult in general. I do think he's VERY fun when you get the off chance of grabbing a survivor in a locker, and I think its fun when you can get successful mind games on your warping and get a nice hit or down. In general, I like Dredge, he's not my fav but he's still goos. Oh and he goes CRAZY with Hex: Devour Hope
Watched the whole video very awesome 🐻
Babe wake up! Kyto uploaded Odzdarva long video
I only have 50 hours at this game and currently main Sadako and Oni. So much fun - although Bubbas perks are some of the strongest so far
When I saw video duration I was half expecting a "Hello this is Otz" intro
🐻🐻🐻Thank you for all that effort!!! A great vid as usual ^^ u are the best
As a Billy main, he is fun AF if you played demoknight. You can just gokart around the map and (hopefully) jumpscare people who don't prerun when their gen reaches 70%.
I have been survivor main for longest time and being out of the game for one year I’ve wanted to switched it up and main killer so this is actually plenty helpful ;)
Kyto you should continue your cod zombies channel it was very interesting 🐻
2:11 Why not just show us the perks description on-screen?
47:10 I appreciate you pronouncing zanshin correctly
I started on wraith… then immediately switched to singularity, I do not regret it. I love haux, but it was definitely frustrating to learn as a nww player
I already have all the killers but I watched this so I can know which ones to prestige first, which is a tip I can recommend for people in my situation too
I love running Face the Darkness on Pig cause it just constantly gives me value. 🔥🔥🔥
very great video, even though I already have almost every killer 🐻
