    thanks, this helped me alot
    I have one question though,
    It is should I train my tendons more than quads?
    for more speed?

    • @tempejkl
      @tempejkl Před 7 měsíci

      very late but tendons aren’t a muscle. You can strengthen them, yes, but it depends which one. Every muscle has tendons that connect it to the bone, so these are vital for not only running but also for injury prevention.

    I am currently running 7.5 for 60m at 14 and I need to drop it to 7.15 in about 3 months. How should i go about doing this in the least amount of time/ Is it possible.

    • @TheSprintProject_
      @TheSprintProject_  Před rokem

      Usually the area you can improve the most in the least amount of time is the acceleration. Use a force velocity profile to find your weak points then hyper focus on them. This video will explain: czcams.com/video/k4XAtgDT36s/video.html

    When training for speed? Like hip trhust, jumping jacks with weights, romanian deadlifts. Shoud i train to failure?

    • @fidvort
      @fidvort Před rokem

      Also. I train hip thrust, jumping jacks, hip flexor, and romanian deadlifts, 3 sets on everything, 2 times a week. Is this a good program and a great amount of sets etc?

    • @P2541-kz1cu
      @P2541-kz1cu Před 24 dny

      Technicaly you should not. However if you don't train to failure it is harder to track your lifts.

    how important are hamstrings in sprinting

    • @redalien75
      @redalien75 Před 9 měsíci

      Very

    • @tempejkl
      @tempejkl Před 7 měsíci +1

      Very important as hamstrings are the muscle that pull knees upwards. Hamstring injuries are very common in athletes such as sprinters and footballers, and that shows how important they are for speed.

    • @IbrahimFootball15
      @IbrahimFootball15 Před 10 měsíci +1

      Tall people will always be faster than short people, but you cannot get taller than you will reach. It's all genetic. Speed and sprinting is also genetic. Naturally born pure sprinter would be faster than a genetically slow sprinter that trains a lot.

    • @tempejkl

      Any exercise will as long as you don’t do exercises with very heavy weights (these damage growth plates). But if you’re above 18 you can’t really do anything, you will maybe only grow an inch and that’s if you’re doing everything perfectly (example: Erling Haaland, who grew 1 inch from age 22-23, but only because of his perfect diet and exercise).

    • @tempejkl
      @tempejkl Před 7 měsíci

      @@IbrahimFootball15genetics are not that important. I was the slowest out of everyone I knew, slower than even girls when I was very young. But after a year of football training I’ve went from a 17 sec 100m to 12.5sec (and 100m isn’t really important for football, over 20-30m I’m the fastest out of everyone)

  • @danielphillips1461
    @danielphillips1461 Před rokem +3

    Wrong, do not squat or even lifts weights at all! sprinting is a skill in its self, you will only increase top speed by sprinting at top speed often. SSC can improve by doing nordic hamstring curls. Thats how ground times get faster and you can apply more force. your information isnt completely right.

      Even Usain Bolt used to do weighted squats and Olympic lifts what do u want to say now?

    • @tempejkl
      @tempejkl Před 7 měsíci +16

      Nope. Every athlete needs to do resistance training. Sprinters put up to 5x their body weight of force into the ground when they run. Usain Bolt does weighted squats, every footballer (soccer) does, literally every athlete that sprints.

    • @Messup7654
      @Messup7654 Před 7 měsíci +8

      You have no friken idea what your talking about dude you can’t train your body to strike the ground with 1000 pounds of force without gaining strength and power to apply that and did you just say you can improve the stretch shortening cycle with Nordic curls😂 1
