I am 65 and discovered Röyksopp recently. I listen to this song everyday. It is one of the best songs I have ever heard (and I have heard thousands in most genres).
Mats Askelien I agree. I love this music videos that has nostalgic feel. I get the same feeling when i watch videos of Röyksopp's Do It Again or The Attic's A Life to Live.
The video corresponds with the lyrics of "only this moment holds us together" The different women and men you see in the video are the same people, just in different time periods, because you see at the end of the video that the older woman and man who are standing the crowd turn into the younger couple, explaining the point that through the entirety of the song the lyrics change from "our love will die" to "love will survive" shown by the couple staying together.
FINALLY, after 16 years, I found this song! The first time I heard this song was between March-April 2005. I didn't know neither the title nor the name of group. How much time has passed! I'm Very Happy to listen this song! Greetings from Italy!
One of the most exquisite songs i have ever heard, the lyrics are so beautiful like if theyre hiding some message, sounds like a dream to me. Thank you for this piece.. first time i heard i was 16 and now Im 32, the feeling wont change!
I died to this song in summer '09... it was playing on my playlist when I drifted off into the darkness. I came back a different person... but I feel this song still holds a connection to whatever soul inhabited this body before I was revived.
This song describes perfectly the battle between your heart and your mind when you find yourself on the edge of being in love with someone. "Stay or forever go, play or you never know". Heard this song first time on Just My Luck movie (w/ Linsay Lohan and Chris Pine), back in 2006, and i´ve been searching for it like forever. Brings back so many memories

This song has a kind of indescribable feeling in it, a kind of rebellion against the present, or in other words, a kind of desire to return to the past and the things we left behind in those times.
If I remember correctly this song came out around 2004-05. Back then MTV used to have a segment called "Stuck in my Head" where they would select songs which were catchy and would get stuck in your head. 20 yrs have gone by this song is still stuck in my head...
A story I have to share: 7 years ago I met a girl and watched a silly movie together and this song played in it and it clicked something. We are now married and have a child and this song has become our song something we can always relay to. Thank you Royksopp
@@steveulinski98, I heard it there as well, but after I had already fallen in love with it on MAD tv music channel. Back then we didn’t have Shazam and such, not even CZcams, OMG!
I know, right? I thought I was being crazy, lol. Because even though I have literally no memories related to this song, whenever I'm listening to it, I get so overwhelmed with emotions.. It's actually quite hard to describe the feeling. Glad to know I'm not the only one!
It's a good point. As someone who suffers from severe depression, it's difficult to find music that can get me out of my self hate when it hits hard. Love songs remind me of what I lost, sad and slower songs let me relate, but do nothing to change the feeling, faster and angrier songs can help, but tend to turn some of the pain into anger. This song though... It hits the odd middle spot where I can simultaneously escape my mind and feel peace, while also encouraging my mind to actually keep thinking and moving on without lingering on the hate and pain. It's an odd sensation, but it's perfect
@@theradiantdehd3997 as someone only realizing now that i might have been living with depression most of my life, this song almost makes me feel a sort of self love and acceptance. Now almost 15 years after I had the same feeling with this same song. What sorcery is this?
I cry to this song almost ever time i HEAR it because it's so beautiful and sad to me at the same time. Commitment, loyalty, love, action with that devotion, multiple feeling states of compatibility that can't (but are really well described in this song) with words

It's a timeless masterpiece... It's as 2005 as it's beyond 2023...
This is a song from my teenage years and the line "play or you'll never know" makes me think about all the chances I didn't take.
It's beautiful and sad at the same time. Like being a little kid knowing summer vacation was ending.
Man, this song...
It will never get old
It will never run stale
It will always play in my head with just as much emotion as it did 10+ years ago
Probably the most powerful music video accompanied with a song I’ve ever seen

Nothing else (out there)
No one to (guide us)
Lost in our (senses)
Deep down inside I know our love will die
Only this (moment)

Only this (moment)
Holds us (together)
Lost in (confusion)
Feelings are (out there)
Scared of (devotion)
Doubting (intentions)
Deep down inside I know our love will die
Stay or forever go
Play or you'll never know
What heaven decided
You can't deny it's
All you've been waiting for
Stay or forever go
Play or you'll never know
Your spirit's divided
You will decide if I'm
All you've been waiting for
Clouds in my head have been parted with grace
By the voice of an angel revealing her face
And her words they make sense 'n' I do understand
Falling in love isn't part of the plan
Forces within me mix reason with lust, but
I'll try to accept it and not make it worse
'cause I know I might lose it by taking the chance
(But) love without pain isn't really romance
Only this (moment)
Holds us (together)
Close to (perfection)
Nothing else (out there)
Always (beside her)
Trusting my (senses)
Deep down inside I know love will survive
Only this (moment)

Close to (the other)
Nothing else (out there)
Always (beside her)
Trusting my (senses)
Deep down inside I know love will survive
