"I love my job!" Yeah, we know Johnathan, we know. 😊
Can we all appreciate how on brand it is that Riker literally waited until his ship was at _30% shield power_ in a concerted pursuit and attack from _a swarm of enemy ships_ before calling for a Red Alert?
Oh my fucking god. i didnt evem notice that. Lol
He likes a challenge and he probably thought the Paclids needed a head start
Q was right. Riker is stolid with the beard.
He deserves the reputation that is unfairly put on Janeway.
I love how much respect Lower Decks has for all Star Trek media. People who've read the Riker books must be so happy to finally see their characters on screen!
Actually, with the exception of Riker and Troi, I don't think any of the Titan crew from the books make an appearance. No Vale, no Keru. And Disney definitely wouldn't allow counselor Huilan to pop up without some major litigation.
Wasn’t there, like, a cyborg ostrich on his crew in the books? I’m not seeing that here.
There's still time
@@icecreamdf5259
@@icecreamdf5259there was also the Doctor who is like a dinosaur type alien. I think his name was like Sha-Ka-Ree or something it’s been a while since I read the Titan books
@@BeastBoom24 Yeah, I remember him but I don’t remember his name. I’m sure it wasn’t Sha-Ka-Ree though, because that was God in Star Trek V. He probably wouldn’t be on the bridge anyway.
I can’t explain why “someone punch me a way out!” “Punching!” Is so hilarious to me 😂
The pure JOY in Riker’s voice when he says “I LOVE MY JOB!!” is so contagious I can’t stop smiling 😊
Red Alert just energizes the consoles so they explode and lob rocks at nearby officers. Realizing this, just like in Insurrection, Riker waited until some folks were at risk for being blown out into space before adding the risk of flying rocks. Quite kind, actually.
“GLUONIC *WHAT?!”*
Ooh, you do not want to disrupt your gluons, that'll cause a lot of problems with matter cohesion. It fucks with the strong nuclear force and you end up with excess matter, such as protons and neutrons, because of spontaneous energy to matter conversion. This will cause minor radiation burns, cysts, cancers, and tumors. A weekend at a starfleet medical resort will fix all that up, but until then it is not fun.
@@polarknight5376 Hence Boimler's reaction. He knew everything you just said, and now they're willingly going to do it.
God, I love that this is all canon.
I LOOOOVEEE MY JOOOOBBBB!!!!
May we all find a job we love as much as Will Riker loves his.
Bunch of ships attacking for at least 30 seconds, shields at 30 %
Riker basically "I suppose we've given them enough of a head start to finally go red alert" 😂😂
"I love my job!" has me absolutely crying! 😂 One day I'll actually get round to watching LD
Boimler's be-careful-what-you-wish-for-moment.
I saw an interview with Frakes. Boy does he love Lower Decks. 🙃
I know we all love hearing Riker say "red alert!" but why would he be saying it mid-battle when their shields have already been reduced to 30%? They've clearly been at red alert for awhile by then, lights be damned!
I believed that was the most thrilling moment, but it gets even more intense. Not until the shields drop to 30% does he decide to issue the red alert; until then, he's just casually hanging out.
Shields were likely automatically raised when the Titan was attacked (ie yellow alert) or the ship sensed a threat. The Titan did not fire prior to the Red Alert. So its quite possible they were hit hard and fast and Riker went straight to Red Alert then.
Let's be honest, he just likes yelling red alert...
Riker specifically created the _orange_ alert just so he could have a ship enter battle readiness while still preserving dramatic things to shout at climactic moments.
I'm guessing that's a Tuesday.
It makes me so happy to know that unlike Picard, this Riker is just having the absolute time of his life now that he's got his own ship, is now able to be as loose cannon and chaotic as he wants and can get away with it.
We got a Picard show. Surely we can get a show with Captain Riker.
As long as it's nothing like the Picard show. That was a hot mess.
.....Okay. I thought they were all gonna crap their pants.
0:03 ol reliable cliche
Now that is the Titan....Luna Class so much cooler than the "Neo-Constitution"
Boimler with get better at his job later on. 😂
As a jazz musician, I'm totally here for the jam session quip!!
Recommended demotion of starfleet officer.
Reason: “Not my tempo”

When you realize that your dream goal of being the chair bound paper pusher in charge of a idolized, strictly by the book Starfleet where the ships are all made up of lightly armed fluffy clouds must first plow through the hellish reality of the unpredictable nature of space, coupled with the equally unpredictable nature of your Superior officer, your friends and most importantly your enemies.
Them going into the gluonic disruption: Guardians of the Galaxy volume 2 anyone? 😂
Unhinged Riker is the best Riker
Is Riker becoming a parody of himself?
In Lower Decks absolutely and it is *amazing*
I mean is sort of a goofball at heart but he knows when to split the difference between being a serious Captain & when as Picard would say "bow to the absurd"
...that's the point of the whole fucking show! It's self satire. HOW COME NO ONE UNDERSTANDS THIS.
riker sure knows how to be a badass
Let's not ask about why they're only going to red alert well after the enemy is shooting at them...
Answer: because it's Riker
You have to love how Lower Decks manages to fit the live-action crew members in as overly exaggerated cartoon characters, yet at the same time manage to make them so recognizable in their attitudes that there's no doubt in your mind who they are.
I like this crazy Riker... 😁
This is the reason why Boimler wanted to go back to the Cerritos.
I don't think Johnathan Frakes is acting here.
Why did I hear “colonic disruption?” That’s a bit messy
There are no White Castles in space.
Boimler reminds me of Adam Scott in first contact (at least how he was feeling on the inside)
Isn't jazz theory a required course at Starfleet Academy? smdh at this square Boimler
That lick line is so sexual I thought i thought it meant something else in the trailer. Anyone else think that it was sexual?
How does one "prepare" for gluonic disruption? Is there a procedure in a Starfleet manual somewhere?
memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Gluonic_disruption
@@nasahhu Yeah, but that article didn't tell me how to _prepare_ for it. Like, do you take some deep breaths or something?
Why does that sound like Plankton’s VO
Who let Futurama writers write for Star Trek?
sort of the point of lower decks i guess, its more teenage friendly
stupid doesn't describe it enough. look what they've done to Star Trek.
Uh, Huh.... Imagine going through an unknown anomaly and ending up in the Star Wars reality filled with epic anxiety, PTSD, infinite alien races with constant paranoia schizophrenia & Bi-Polarism issues and really poor healthcare!
Riker would be in heaven :D
@@Quetzalcoatl_Feathered_Serpent I don't know.... I mean it's another universal reality. Where everyone & everything wants you dead and maybe eaten. It's like walking through downtown New York and getting shot and people not literally giving a $h1t while bleeding to death. I think Riker would probably leave on the next portal out! Especially when he finds out that the alcohol there is nothing but bu11$h1t.
Confused.
Titan already had shields up so why weren't they already at red alert?
Yellow Alert
Gonna be honest I could take or leave Riker in TNG, like he’s fine but nowhere in my top five characters. Lower Decks jazzed up maniac flying around the galaxy at Warp 11… him I like.
In tng Riker supposed to be the next Kirk but Picard was too good, so they didn't create Kirk 2.0, so he just stay as Picard's number one...
@@nasahhu Then in nemesis Star fleet finally gives Riker the Titan at the end of the movie
He's basically Riker from TNG but without holding anything back
