Think about it this way guys: We got to experience an amazing racing game that most people will never get to. At least it didn’t live long enough to become bastardized. There’s still value to going back and playing it. Dub Edition 3 was the perfect “Car” game, at least in my opinion.

The immersion in midnight club made me feel like an actual street racer. Also you can customize your car ridiculously with soooo many options. Now we have PS5 and you have like 5 bumper options lol.
What made midnight club games different is not the street racer vide or the customisation but the challenge . The pinkslips, the champion races. It let you choose your way to victory and not stopping you by some invisible wall.
Unlike NFS on the last part.

I'll never forget the time that I lost my Mitsubishi eclipse in a pink slip race against lester to win his Mazda rx8 because my little brother stepped on the plug wire and the console shut off and I lost my car during the race but luckily I had a backup car which was the 64 impala and I restarted the race again but this time I turned off auto save incase it happens again then I beat him and won the car back but then I forgot I still had to beat him again in order to win his car to progress into the story 😂

We still got MC II. Not as pleasing to look at, but it's athmosphere is definitely insanely good for it's age. Gameplay wise it's sick as well!

Midnight Club Los Angeles had a huge booth at Dub Show 2008 in San Diego @ The Convention Center. I still remember playing a prerelease version there.
I played both basic versions on PSP and PS2, and have to say that I prefer the PSP version because of its portability (but hated the 10-15 seconds loadscreens).
My first car was the Dodge Neón SRT4, but the Chevys Montecarlo and Impala became my favourites ones

Midnight Club: LA was my favorite game of all time. I've been waiting 11yrs for them to come out with a new game i the franchise. I hope they make a new one but this time make it cover the whole world. But 1st come out with 1 the covers all of the US and go through all the other countries and finally come out with a Midnight Club: World Edition which covers the whole planet or venture out to a futuristic one that ventures to different planets or one that utilizes futuristic cars like the ones in "The Fifth Element.

I remember the hydraulics on MC3. If you timed it right, you could get your car to shoot up about 10ft in the air. Later on, I used to play it online and have hydraulic battles with people to see who could get their car to jump the highest. Those were the days...

Hardcore fans like us revere MC3 more than almost any other title from that era.
NFS Underground, maybe San Andreas come close, but the fact is that the franchises' absence has made us remember it even more fondly.

After the GTA 5 source code leak, we now know for sure that Midnight Club 5 was in development around 2017 as it was mentioned in the leak.

I played MC2 on a shitbucket PC with almost a full sec's lag on it's worst days, but I knew those maps and their shortcuts by heart. For some of the maps, 10 years later, I still do. Such as in one of the Paris maps you need to take your car on 2 wheels and pass through the victory arch or is a Tokyo map you have to use bike and drive over the train line while it's raining. Boy what a live i have lived, Mafia, Maxpayne and Midnight club 2, the 3 M's of my life.
They died because its cheaper and easier to make DLC for a 10 year old game than actually take effort and creativity to give us something remotely new.
