    Love my Ventus Blue in my TSI3 Driver so assumed the Ventus Red would be a nice choice for my TSR2 5 wood since I was looking for a higher launch off the deck. And the perfect example of why you get fit because I couldn’t get any height out of the Ventus Red lol. Went back to the stock AV Blue Raw and it works like a charm. Just Get Fit (feel free to use that as your new slogan TXG).

Maybe building up multiple 6 irons and drivers at different SW to see the effects. Could even have Mikey and Ian both go through it to see the difference with swing speeds.👍🏻

    In a prior fit, I had the same shaft in DR and 3W (3W just shorter and the next weight up). Recently went to CC for a long game fit and was looking like it was going to be the same thing with 3W and DR until the fitter said “let’s just try the ventus blue TR and see how it does” I then hit the best 5 shots with my 3W. The fitter then put a ventus blue in the DR and I saw a further upgrade over the shaft he had originally picked. Finished with Ventus Blue 6x in the DR and Ventus Blue TR 7S in the 3W

    I actually went the other way. I bought a 7 wood of all things and unbelievable how easy it is to hit a high draw. It has the Red Ventus in it. I have the Blue in my 3 wood and love it. Now I want to put a Red into my driver. Currently have the Diamana Dialed mid kick shaft. Like it but not even close to as good of flight and feel as the Red Ventus in the 7 wood.

    Great video!I just had a fitting this weekend for a 3 wood and found something similar. My current driver is TSi3 w/ Ventus Blue 6x. Tried multiple shafts in TSr2 3 wood and thought we’d settled on Ventus Red 7x with the aim of increasing launch and spin. At the end we tried Ventus Blue 7x in the 3 wood and it blew everything out the park. Higher launch and better spin! Didn’t expect to be fit into the same as my driver!

    I play these shafts. I have Tour Edge Exotics E722 Driver, 3W, 5W and 5 hybrid. Driver and 3W have Ventus Red. 5W has Ventus Blue. On the practice range I consistently hit the 5W a few yards longer than the 3W. As the 3W, 5W and hybrid are fixed hosels I can't swap them out for experimentation. The shaft variety is because I bought all the clubs used. Got a favorable price for the set.

  • @dougmael
    @dougmael Před rokem +1

    I play the Ventus TR Blue (6R, tipped 1/2”) in my driver, and just recently put a Ventus TR Red (7S, untipped) in my 4 wood. I was formerly playing a 77 gram stiff shaft with a very similar profile to the Ventus TR Blue in the same 4 wood, and I definitely prefer the Ventus TR Red in that fairway wood. I get the ball flight that I prefer (mid-high flight with a hair more backspin and about 10 yards more carry) with that Ventus TR Red 7S. From off of a tee, I would be happy with either shaft, or a Ventus Blue, in my 4 wood, but from the fairway on par 5 holes the higher flight with more backspin that I get with that TR Red is certainly welcome to give me a softer landing shot with less run-out.

    Have Velocore+ Blue on my Stealth 2 Driver and Velocore Reds on my 3 and 5 wood Sim2’s. I play them all well, Red adds some nice kick up on the fairway woods provided that you keep your attack angle slightly negative and are taking a divot. If you try to sweep or get too positive with Red off the deck, you get lower line drives…which is actually fine if you’re stuck under a tree on a Par 5 and need to keep it low!

    Ian's description that the softer flex tip section on the Red kicks the club head further out and further forward was incredibly helpful. In order to center the strike on my hybrids and and woods, I have to stand slightly further away from the ball than I do with my irons...even though all of them are custom-fit for lie angle and shaft length. It is nice to finally understand the physics of why this change of my address position is necessary. Thank you for sharing your expertise on the channel so generously!

    Great video guys, I recently had a fitting for a new 3 wood shaft. Long story short, Tsi2 with Tensei blue shaft. Thought I was you average joe, SS 96mph with the 3 wood so mid launch mid spin shaft blah blah blah. Just wasn’t getting what I though I should out of it. So went and got fit for new shaft, at fitting discovered (fitters info) I have a slow/smooth tempo but a harsh transition. So the softer tipped shafts Tensei blue/VA slay we’re just getting left behind, blocks left and duck hooks with no spin (leftie). Fitter changed it up, stuck a Diamana DF in and boom. Spin jumped from mid 2000s to mid 3’s. As confidence grew, so did swing speed. Ended up maxing out at 103mph with spin @ 3700. So we decide to go for the DF in stuff but tipped to make it play a little more stiff then stiff.
    My absolute favourite club now, next on list is the get a retro fit on Driver shaft as have a Va Baddazz fitted in that and feel there’s more to be got with the new swing info.
    Any suggestions guys?

    Outside of this testing environment, when you're out on the course trying to shoot your lowest score you want to reduce your variables to the least amount possible. For the casual golfer that doesn't play as frequently this is great because the feels are similar. For the better golfer or one that plays more frequently they don't need reminding "hey my 3 wood the tip will be stiffer do I need to close the face more?, do I need to swing more aggressively?". It's totally up to the golfer's feels and how much they want to think on the course under pressure.

    As an average golfer it's hard for me to spend another $350 (might as well say $400 after tip, grip, and tax) to match my 3 to the Velocore Red that's in my driver. Mostly due to the fact I may only use it a couple times in a round. Once I stopped thinking I'm a pro that can putt for eagle on every par 5 and started playing to a distance has been the best stroke saver for me.
    I also find it interesting the hundreds of videos about drivers and shafts, but I don't see many pop up about putter fitting. You know, that club you scream at and costs you the most strokes in a round.
