I mean, I threw 275 feet the other day, but 700 is still pretty okay I guess.
For real man
Weak.
Nice frow
I tHreW 408fEet yeSterday. No but i really did
Okay, my ass. That's serious distance!
David Wiggins bends the time and space so much he even makes some 90's techno sound good.
Jokes on you, that's actually the disc making the techno music
Lol
90s techno is great if you aren’t completely tasteless
Everything about this video oozes the 90s. Except for when it was actually made.
Reminds me of the volleyball scene in top gun
Why was I recommended this video. Why can I not stop watching it.
With a rip like that and a slow motion it is almost impossible for the disc to not wobble at the beginning
I'll never understand how they throw the disc so high and keep the nose down. Anytime I try it I get the nose up and it just fights back early. That said I've never been able to throw like these guys even when I was younger. I'm pretty happy still being able to throw a low flip about 350-400 but damn these guys can rip it.
It's all in the disc. An understable disc will flip over and cut against the wind. An overstable disc is supposed to go back and is very hard to flip over with a higher shot
I don’t golf but I wonder if it’s similar to the concept of an air bounce in ultimate? Like you kind of ride it out and up with the nose down?
Inspirational. You tube, practice, have helped me add 30-50 to my distance over the past 6 months.
Same, but yet very frustrating! I need to find a way to get more spin on my disk without losing arm speed
@@Lexilou13 Keep the disc between your hand and body when in the power pocket. You keep see him doing it here in this video.
I can just imagine a huge group of Japanese people all just standing around watching this "giant" American throw discs hella far and they're all super amazed in a very Japan way lol
haha
Manabu Kajiyama would be rubbing his chin and saying watch this
@@QactisX Manabu can crush like 500+ feet I'm almost certain fosho.
wwhaaaaaaaa!
And there would be more photographers out, for sure.
Amazing what passed for super slow mo eight years ago…
pro tour needs more showcases like this where everyone lines up on a driving range to uncork some drives for video
The LVC does a long drive contest every year. Always tops 600+ in distance.
This aged poorly @@joconnell8145
Just look how far he can drive that elbow before releasing the disc. Holy.
That's not OAT. The disc's center of mass is above the rim. The consequence of this is that when you throw, a torque is applied to the disc similar to you trying to touch opposite ends of the flight plate together. This torque is quickly applied and quickly released which causes an initial wobble. It always exists, but it is most noticeable in those who can throw over 500
Wat
@@thebeasters lol
Nah, it's OAT. The angle of the wrist and disc is not the same as your forearm. No, this is not a criticism for DW, but off-axis torque is something that can be mitigated by even the furthest throwers on the planet. But when you consider the fact that a person is trying to simply throw an object as far as they can, some "techniques" take a backseat. But most pros probably throw 80-90% power, and this is max distance. Getting a disc to travel this far takes multiple attempts, as the angles and releases are rarely perfect.
Fully prepared to hear "test your might" with this music playing.
Can you imagine, if this guy had some golf lessons? He may be pretty good someday
I think the longest driving golfers are the ones who do it on a course. Like Paul McBeth and Ricky Wysocki and such. You almost always see Paul crushing the disc as far and further as anyone on his pool :)
archimedesjs You maybe right about that. I just meant that in my opinion driving done during serious competition rounds is what counts :) To me such huge crushes are more impressive. Ps. what do you think about Simon Lizotte's power?
Dude Simon Lizette, Drew Gibson, Eagle McMahon throw way further..just saying lol
@@4blakE2duB0nesS Not really. Watch the DDO
Drives me crazy because Paul looks like he's throwing putters and chucks it 500 feet
@@thebeasters not really? The three guys he mentioned undeniably have more distance potential than paul
i believe this guy rips.. no wind no bull shit just by seen the disc fly is insane!!!
Reminds of the first softcore video I ever watched
This video is old,
but he sure could send a frisbee
0:19 how is your shoulder not dislocated?
Happy Gilmore of disc-golf
I want to see David Wiggins Jr. throw a thumber with an Aerobie Epic.
Now I understand how a catapult works
This video makes me want to go out to the field and snap all my back muscles.
People who can't actually DO anything sure love to try to tear down those who CAN. Don't talk crap. Show us what YOU can do ppl
shh,
For me the most impressive part was actually 0:47 with how little off-axis torque he applied on his forehand given the amount of power he had behind it.
0:48 look how his right foot decimates the earth below
I remember my first frisbee....I spent hours with it separating the good weed from the stems and seeds...yea good times...good times
Holy moley
lol
Hello mans, what is sountrack played? Please give me link. Thank you!
www.hurtrecord.com/bgm/17/wind-of-fight.html
Why the disc wobbles and it's not his form being bad:
Blizzard plastic is Champion plastic that has air in it, same with the Opto Air plastic from Latitude 64, or fission from MVP. The air makes the plastic less dense (155g vs 175g), which makes the blizzard boss SIGNIFICANTLY more pliable than regular champion plastic. This combined with a 45 degree hyzer angle that produces a 14/7/-3/2 flight out of a 13/5/-1/3 rated disc means an extreme amount of torque is being applied to the disc.
What? The angle of release has nothing to do with wobble whatsoever.
The music..did the DJ fall asleep on his keyboard?
The disc wobbles, not because it is being released uncleanly, but because it has been BENT by a hi-torque pull-through.
I highly doubt that
Why does his forehand not wobblf then?
what's hyzers? && OAT?
Geez. I'm lucky to hit 300-320 with my drives
slower, understable discs will help you with increasing your distance, typically people are using too high of speed discs when throwing for distance. speed 9-11 should be good enough for 350+ shots easily.
Shoot keep throwing your midrange and you can max it at 350, 7 speed can hit 350 no problem. Why do people use a star destroyer 12 speed disc when they can throw it 300 is beyond me. I can get an Axiom Clash (7/5/-1/3) 400 feet. All you need is the biomechanical technique down and you can do it with minimal effort, without hurting yourself.
Good advice. Diamond light and Jade by Latitude 64 are amazing in this category.
Joel Leonard very well said. I only throw 275 with mids and friends always say why don’t you throw distance drivers?! And they only throw distance drivers 275-300ft. I’m focused on long term gains
@@QactisX I came across your comment.
A newbie to disc golf.
I'm wondering - what biomechanics I can study and review.
I've been all over youtube and so much content - they seem to contradict so often.
I'm totally unsure what to do next.
Please CZcams don't ever recommend a disc golf video ever again
no he flipps overstable discs andthe s tern
Down hill tail wind ,I like watching people throw in a closed football field or something
This is all very impressive... but these days guys are hulking drives 600+ feet, ACCURATELY, in competition play! Unreal...
That’s what I was going to say.. those shots aren’t even accurate lol
Looks like it’s downhill and he has a huge run up. I’d like to see him do that with a tiny tee pad and not downhill.
Did David ever try pitching? I wonder what kind of fastball he's got.
He was pretty fire in dodgeball, I can tell ya that
Yeah, we grew up together attended all same schools and he was always the first pick in dodgeball and kickball
‘Maiko’ and ‘Japan’ are place names and should be capitalized.
Mine goes just as high but hyzers the fuck out and boomerangs itself back to me.
He was what.. 15 or 16 at this point?? He's 24 now if I'm not mistaken. Insane.
In 2012 he set the distance record at 836, he was 16. In 2016 he set the record at 1108. He was born in 1995. 🤘😎
@@pbgamble When you look at him today you can still see.. he's just a man among men. Huge hands, great ape index, incredibly athletic. I hope he sticks with the tour for a few years and hones stuff in. It'd be so awesome to see him on lead card. He has many years of competitive play left.
That's almost Vectorman music
Every time this guy throws for distance it's like hurricane force winds, I want to see how far a disc can go in 0 wind by the power of a human not using the wind to cheat
Interesting, no X step
whatever happened with him, i saw him on a card with McBeth today and he looked really good. Just wondering why he left the tour for all this time
Do these turn right cause he throws it so hard or is it the disc choice?
Its both, more on the side of him throwing really hard. His throwing style is outdated now
He wants it to go right fir a max distance flight so he chooses a disc that does this with his power. There are many discs that he wouldn't be able to make turn and there are many more that would turn way too much and just dive into the ground.
@@leevikv Any chance you could elaborate on the outdated style?
@@BeataDrumm not anymore because i forgor
Hah this guy doubts david wiggins. Well safe to say he can out throw anyone alive curently so no need to shit talk the distance champ on this one
probably couldn't out throw simon lizotte
Aaaaaand... World Record broken.
+Jeb Watson he just crushed lizotte with a 1100 ft throw.
+Jeb Watson to get
He outdrives Lizotte in tournaments? I think not. Flinging a few in an open field is not the same thing.
I threw my farthest throw ever last week at 400+ feet…
Power is nothing without accuracy. 💯
This is like watching old school pr0n where they ruined good voice lines with bad music.
I can throw 550 feet.........then I throw my third shot......
Okay, showoff. Do it again. Only this time, STAND STILL!
that's almost nothing, with backwind and downhill i reach 1000 feet.. 🤭
You can tell boomers thought young people would like this hip and happening music
Because its fucking godawful
just turn the audio off loser. what do you want, celine dion playing.
Oh look a bite
Imagine how far he could throw a disc if he didn't stick loads of OAT on his backhand drives!
He doesnt use loads of oat. He just anhyzers overstable discs
Ahhhh hahahahahoao in my "anime cartoon laugh" ..
You don't hear about him on the coarse his putting must blow lol
He’s been out for work the past 8 years but check out thediscgolfguy’s coverage. Looks like he just struggles on controlling drives. His putt is pretty decent
700 foot drive seems like a joke now compaired to his 1108 foot record
+jmgug92 The joke is the 50 mph tailwind.
+flyingfishsurf The joke is that 50 mph won't help unless you know how to "sail" it and throw it fast enough to stay aloft.
The joke is that they would consider it a true measure of how far a disc can be thrown. The pdga should at least establish an 'unassisted' record with strict parameters, similar to any track & field record. Probably nothing more than 5-9 mph gusts. Temperature, altitude & humidity are also possible parameters. Believe me, I love wind & I understand the challenge of using a disc in such wind. I've been windsurfing in high winds for over 35 years, throwing discs my entire life & disc golfing for 10 years. In fact I'm currently injured from icesailing in over 40 mph winds. Aside from technique and a big arm, this "record" primarily relies on extremely high winds similar to the land or water speed sailing records. 126mph(land yacht) & 64mph(kite) respectively. Maybe there should be a disc 'sailing' or 'storm chaser' record & an actual controlled distance record. This current record will be impossible to break until similar conditions are encountered. A simple updraft in such conditions could carry a static(non-spinning) disc hundreds of feet in the air & deposit it a mile away, literally. It's a somewhat meaningless record, but that's just my opinion.
I agree.
neither are drives though. A drive is done in the game and can help you. These throws arent shit unless they are parking it and how many courses have 700ft holes(that are not down hill measuring the hill). Ive thrown it iver "500" feet and that's only because they measure down hill while the hole is only 300ft away.
Tell me that isnt all arm. I dont see any perpetuation from a body twist, even when he did a full 360... All arm.
There are NOT super slow motion drives. They are crappy 30fps video.
Watch me throw my frisbee on CZcams!
Do you understand how dumb you sound? This is like making fun of a guy hitting a 400 yard bomb in golf.
Drive for show. Putt for dough.
Drive for dough, putt for even more dough
That's not 500-700 feet. Not even close....Where is a sign that states it is 500 feet and that he threw past it, from the throwing area ? And ZERO aim as well..Why is this good?
Trolling? Watch the full video, they use a laser range finder when they are at the field to see how far his drives go. This is a distance demo, not a golf drive demo. Accuracy is nearly meaningless in distance competitions. You DO know that Wiggins Jr has the standing world record for distance at 836 feet, right?
Anthony Brand That is right, however I dont feel that world record is legit. Throw 800+ft without gale force tail winds and I'll be impressed.
Simply because you can't throw 500-700 feet doesn't mean he can't.
GuNCh Bandit There is hardly a world record out there that environmental factors didn't help. World Records are not entirely made up of skill. Some of it is luck as well. As the saying goes, "Timing is everything".
GuNCh Bandit he was throwing in a 15 mph tailwind when he set the record, not gale force by any means.
What a weirdo video lol
I can throw 6hun, i don't go making CZcams videos of it tho.....ur cool bro lol, have a long drive contest with my boy Avery Jenkins, be your last "show off" video!
This guy has a horrible throw... way too high and no aim... also that is NO WHERE near 700ft throw. I have been playing discgolf for over 15 years.
+quickplaya you do realize he is one of the top in the world at distance throwing, right?
My statement still stands kiddo.
+quickplaya great, and you're still wrong.
+quickplaya these are some of the most un-fucking-believable drives I've ever seen. This guy held the world distance record of 836 feet for many years. Those forearm drives are over 400 feet and maybe even 500ft.
If someone can throw that far, then they're throwing right. It's obvious that you're just jealous.
He just threw it over 1100 feet. He has the world record again.
Disc golf is so lame. It's for poor stoners and hippies who can't play or afford real golf.
you sir, must be a snobby daddy's boy who isn't athletic enough to play real sports ;)
yeeeaaaa. I have a nice set of golf clubs and am pretty good too....but I also love playing disc golf....more so in fact than reg golf at this point...its a amazing game that takes a lot of skill and its great that almost anyone with 40$ or so can afford to get started and enjoy the game...not that I haven't spent over probably 2-300$ on discs since ive lost quite a few and had to go thru many to find the ones that work for me but its a sport and a proper one at that....I take it you cant play for shit tho.....so it doesn't surprise me that youre hating....
My friend commented from my phone. I actually enjoy disc golf and I play real golf. I like real golf a lot more but it's fun going out and making nice throws. I actually got my first ace the other day on at 148 foot hole at a small course here and it felt great. But the majority of people I see are stoner type gypsies playing disc golf. It is fun though
Go whine in your BMW like Elliot Rodger, money boy.
Hmmm let me see. I've got a million in investments AND a 2 handicap in ball golf. Disc golf is another sport to meet new people and get exercise. I'm guessing you can't get it up without a club....neanderthal.
