I can’t have it anymore due to severe GERD but slowly sipping 2ounces of whiskey while writing long essays was golden. It calmed me down to a sweet spot where I came really churn out material but it was also a low enough dose to where I was not out of it or unable to function.

Great concept that was explored very well. Guess I shouldn’t follow Hemingway’s alcohol routine for grad school

Some people drink water based on them thinking 8 cups a day or whatever is healthy. From what I’ve seen the true recommendation is to just drink when you are thirsty. How true is this?

Most people tend to under-hydrate rather than over-hydrate, so just drinking when you are thirsty might not be reliable. Especially if you are busy and caught up with other things, your thirst can often go unnoticed or ignored.

    Isn't Yerba Mate tea?
Side note, idk what it is, but I get so dehydrated and thirsty when I'm studying, I have to chug a glass of water like every 30 minutes, it's so weird

Oh so that’s why vast majority of my coworkers and my dean of faculty are alcoholics… bc they need a little bit of ✨creativity✨
( I’m currently studying to become a production designer/art director)

A psychiatrist had me on generic Adderall and then methylphenidate. I didn't like the side effects. Should I sell the pills I have left or just donate them?

Hello. My son is 16 and doing his public exams in the UK. He doesn't like tea or coffee.. is it OK for him to drink 1 Redbull a day during exams and if yes.. how soon before an exam? to avoid him crashing during an exam? exams are approx 1.5hrs long. Thanks so much.

If Redbull/other energy drinks is out - any other ideas for a bit of healthy caffeine ingesting without drinking tea or coffee?

There are many negative health impacts associated with energy drinks (see video), including far too much sugar. There are many, many different types of tea out there but the greater issue if they struggle with energy over a 1.5 hour exam is most likely the core pillars of sleep, nutrition, and exercise. Dial those in first before turning to stimulants.
