I hated the brother in this! He stops being friendly with Kate as soon as she starts dating John, looking down on her, and then shames her. I don’t get the whole “Kate was lying the whole time” thing. She acted coy and flirty, mostly. Then she had real conversations with him on the dates. These people were all so dramatic. The other Tucker reminds me of the boyfriend from the devil wears Prada.

@@jillianc7485 I just don’t see how she changed herself so much. She grew more confident, and she was flirty with John, and she was genuinely charmed by and started liking John. That’s his whole deal, that all women fall for him. The only other thing she did was be a cheerleader. She didn’t become stuck up or change the way she acted towards people or anything like that, and she stayed friendly towards the brother. I don’t see how he has the right to be mad that she’s growing into herself and trying new things, or dating a hot guy that asked her out.
I've met Jenny Mccarthy, she lives like a townish over from me, she came to a Main Event with her kids and Donny. Took a picture with me and everything, she was so sweet. Also if you ever serve her, she tips VERY well.

I just never got about the other Tucker saying 'ok, so John lies to girls' before saying 'can you imagine who'd do a thing like that', because the way he said it it sounded like he was saying what the girls did as worse than was John did instead of if not better then actually on the same level.

Plus, the fact that everyone in the school except these 4 dumbasses already knew he was a serial dater and cheater but still went after John. The 3 exes were just to obsessed with themselves to realize it beforehand. Everyone else in the school knew already, it was brand new information.
@@paige8453 The guys knew because he boasted about it. You think he'd be able to serial date if the girls knew? And she isn't doing it repeatedly, he's been doing it to multiple girls for years and has left them feeling hurt and making them feel guilty over the fact that he was the one who was cheating on him.
Which I'm sorry to say you kind of sound like you're doing when you call the girls 'dumbasses' and 'self-obsessed' as if that means they deserve to be lied to, manipulated and cheated on. Like that means that he's justified in making them doubt themselves - when the head cheerleader told him hat she'd heard and said "and you believed her", saying that she's the only girl for him and then acting hurt that she'd doubt him, flattering her and then criticising her, making her double guess her concerns and what she knows she heard so that he can keep stringing her along, and then taking it all back when he finally dumps her.
But my main point is that the way his brother said it was like saying "so he lies to girls, so what?" like he's downplaying all of the girls whose feelings John has hurt just so that he can keep up with his image because his image is apparently more important than other peoples feelings, like his making girls feel guilty so that he can keep cheating on them and get away with it less than their making him (just one guy) feel guilty or feel the hurt that he has deliberately made them and many others feel.
That was my issue in 'How to loose a guy in 10 days', when he confronted her about picking him to test a theory on for an article to deliberately drive him away, and she confronted him for pursuing her to prove that he could make any woman fall in love with him, and he as good as said "so I did that, big deal".
I'm not accusing you of being like John Tucker, and I don't believe in how they went about their revenge. I just don't think you're being fair in making it sound like it's all like their fault, like they went after him, and that you may need to consider how you phrase things.

Except every girl in the school already knows he is a cheating and serial dater. They go after him anyway because they don't care. His own brother pointed that out when he confronted the main girl. If he was trying to keep his "tricks" a secret, then he wasn't doing a good job.

2:14 That was in a Hilary Duff movie as well - the Perfect man. A woman has two daughters and makes them change schools and move every time she has a break up. She starts out hopeful every time they arrive at a new town, then when the perfect guy doesn't arrive in about a month, she gets desperate and goes out with he first dumbass/douchebag/loser who asks her, and sooner or later it ends badly and then she plays Patsy Cline and starts looking for a new job in a. new town nd a new school for her daughters.

Also reminds me of Ginny and Georgia. One of the main plot points is Georgia did consistently move but now she's determined to make it work in the better neighbourhood and promises not to run off again.
Now that you’ve seen this, you gotta check out The Other Woman 2014. It’s quite similar to this but without the high school setting. I feel like John Tucker is nostalgic teen fun, The Other Woman is grown woman sh*t fun. I love ‘em both.

So absolutely random story, my best friend was in love with Jesse Metcalfe, like we went and saw this movie in theaters the weekend it came out. Anyway he used to be on this soap opera called Passions and they cast was at Universal City Walk for meet and greets. We were in line to meet him and he was with another actor from the show. I went before my best friend and was talking with the other actor and when my best friend, who was so anxious, screamed at move so she could meet him. It was hilarious because myself, Jesse and the other actor all turned and looked at her, shocked!! The other actor was like "ooh you better move !"
This was one of my fav movies as a pre-teen/teen. I watched it wayy too many times. I can def still quote this word for word to this day lol. So glad that you guys reacted to this, I wish more people would do reactions to this movie. It's a 00's classic.

I just mean - in the scene where the head cheerleader asks josh about what the others say and he goes all 'how could you believe something like that' and in the detention scene when Britney Snow went through the tricks that men (and boys) like Josh and "skip" use.....the smile on the head cheerleaders face (8:26) and the look on the overachiever and the hippie activists face (8:38-8:44) - they all genuinely believed that Josh actually cared about them.....

I watched this on a plane and hated it. Then, when I walked out of the aircraft, I immediately confused the movie with 10 Things I Hate About You (no clue why) and so for roughly 7-8 years, I believed I hated that movie instead. It wasn't until a couple years ago when I decided to """rewatch""" 10 Things that I realised they aren't the same movie and I actually quite like it. I still stand by my hatred for John Tucker Must Die, though.
Modern remake where “polyamory solves all the problems” is the explicit moral of the story. Necessary. Studios get on this. 💙❤️💛🖤

Bad Idea - watching the 1961 movie 'The Apartment' before this movie.You find yourself making comparisons between what the girl at the restaurant said and with what Britney Snow said in the detention to what the secretary said at the party in 'The Apartment' and what we saw one of the playboys in that movie said to a woman who was in love with him and was trying to break it off because he's married, and you miss the point of the ending to 'John Tucker' because you just keep thinking about how many people he's hurt.
Like John tucker the married man in 'the apartment' takes all his dates to the same table in the same restaurant and uses the same lines on them (in his case telling them he's talked to his lawyer about getting a divorce), if one of them says "I never asked you to leave your wife" he said "Of course not, you had nothing to do with it", tell them he loves them and then later jokes to his colleagues "sooner or later they all give you a hard time. I mean you take a girl out a few times a week just for laughs and right away they expect you to leave you wife! I mean is that fair?". Though in his case it's more messed up because they're all women who work for him.
