So is the 5th wall
The 5th wall is the wall between different shows and comics
4th wall is the barrier between the audience and the medium
If the 4th wall "didn't exist"
Every character would know they're in a show or comic and would openly talk about it
The 4th wall is the concept that these fictions are in a separate universe that doesn't understand it was made for entertainment
DC vs Marvel is breaking the 5th wall
Rick saying "see you next episode" is breaking the 4th wall
Also, for the rest of your argument.. Its just dumb

If Rick and Morty gave the audience the finger, I wouldn't mind
It would be in character and be pretty funny
Rick being angry at the shows writers and the audience is already a part of his writing
You're shouting about characteristics in a fictional show, you must be pretty bored or pretty young.
That's not an insult, it's an observation.
I never said 49% of fans are evil and bullies
Every fandom ever has a small group which take it too far
Rick and Morty viewers are very specifically susceptible to this
They think they're so smart and better than everyone when a majority of the show is fart jokes and swearing.
And it really seems like you don't know what the 4th wall is. As you claimed it wasn't real.
You're just running in circles claiming that no one understands Rick and Morty and how evil it is for making fun of its audience.
Its kind of sad that you spend this much time arguing with me when you should have better things to do.
The episode was brilliantly written and a great commentary on the state of the backseat writers like you who think they're so much better than everything.
As for the "sarcasm and absurd" point.
1, if you didn't care you wouldn't be responding
2. It's called absurdist comedy
Rock and Morty has ALWAYS been absurdist

No part of Rick and Morty is grounded and realistic

This could have been an interesting conversation about the overindulgence of meta use in comedy

It's just you. They've played Rick and Morty commercials on every single commercial break of Adult Swim since the previous episode. I rarely see commercials for streaming shows on tv. Where else do you see them?
Most of my friends had no idea so it's not just them. I think it's cuz not everyone watches CN they find the episode somewhere else. But when the season first started they played ads all over CZcams! This time radio silence.

My least favorite episode of this season so far. I think the hiatus also make it worse lol. I won't mind it as much if this was the last episode before the hiatus. Tho i appreciate this episode as a clap back to those who criticize the writers of the show. Let's hope the last 3 episodes going to be amazing.
I cannot be the only person who nearly got a headache from watching this episode. Both from how truly overwhelming the 4th wall breaking was but also how quickly irritating it became. How is it that Deadpool and even She-Hulk are better at balancing the amount of times they break the 4th wall.

Frankly, this episode seems to support the writing quality previous episodes, like 4x6, the story train. Why would they bring back Story Lord if they were trying to appease the fans who didn't like that episode?
