  • Detailed tour of the dinner buffet at the Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya. See what’s available for supper at this well varied buffet, with some cook-to-order tacos as well as grilled meats, indulgent desserts and healthy salads.
    I did try the Gluten Free bread and it was actually really good - very nutty - sort of a squirrelly bread.
    Happy travels everyone!

    Hi Chris! What is the mask protocol right now? We arrive in 12 days and just want to know what to expect. Thank you!!!

      Hi Stephanie! We didn’t wear one the whole time but some did on the plane, airport and busy areas of Cancun. At the resort, it’s up to the employees, so some were wearing them / most not. I don’t recall seeing any guests wearing them but if they were, there was certainly no one making it a ‘thing’. So whatever you’re most comfortable with! Have a great trip!
      I’m doing a resort Q&A on Saturday at 9am PST if you have any packing questions or other stuff you want to ask about. Hope to see you then!

    What's the dinner dress code for men (e.g., formal wear, business casual, shorts permitted, closed dress shoes, nice sandals, etc.)?

    • @ChristineTurner
      @ChristineTurner  Před rokem +1

      Hi Mr Tru2it! They are very liberal with the dress code and respect that guests are paying a lot to stay there, often in very hot weather. For women, the dress code is as flexible as ever, and for men, they don't require long pants but do require dress shorts and nice sandals. No flip flops. It's fabulous!

      @@ChristineTurner I appreciate your timely reply. I'm trying to decide on this resort or UNICO 20 87 for my trip on 26 June. I already got my flights. I just have to decide on a resort. UNICO is about $300 more for a king swim-up pool with a pool view.

      @@MrTru2it Unfortunately, I haven't been to Unico yet but have heard wonderful things about it, so I'm sure you'd be safe with either option. What room category did you price out at Zilara?

      @@ChristineTurner Thanks to your excellent video reviews, I priced out the King with resort view swim-up pool. I'm just surprised with the overall price of Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya. I guess that's why I've been a little hesitant. I'm use to getting what I paid for, but your video content makes me think I'm getting a great deal in terms of accommodations, views, food, and service.

      @@MrTru2it well I’m a pretty tough critic when it comes to food. I don’t tend to drink cocktails, but they do have top shelf alcohol. Service was impressive - that’s one of the things that sets a resort apart. Again - I haven’t been to Unico, so I can’t compare but, comparing with other 5* resorts in the area, I’d say it’s comparable or better.
