- Are planks useful or useless for running or sprinting? This is a question that has been debated for years and there is no clear answer. In this video, I'm sharing my thoughts on the matter.
Planks were a very popular core strengthening and re-balancing exercise but are now not seen as functional. So do they have a use in sports?

Essop won't weighted core training hypertrophy your trunk?
Suspension trainer (rings, bands, etc) planks are superior in every way.
They just make it more unstable, which may mean your stabilisers tire out before your core muscles get an adequate workout.
@@Matt_Alaric Hollow body hold, can increase difficulty almost indefinitely by increasing the lever.(I use mace in arms and ankle weights) or decrease by bending arms and legs, even a super beginner can do those!
Is it 3 minutes in each variation? I've always done side planks to half of whatever my front plank was since they're weaker muscle groups. Also it has a nice symmetry of both sides combined being equal to my front plank time.
Great question, 3 mins each variation will make you bullet proof.
