@@tommyrosen4359 Thank you for the invite. I live in isolation of my own volition. Not healthy but definitely safe. I am codependent and I would feel wrong, dumb and unworthy to state "I'm an addict" in a room filled with alcoholics and drug addicts. I have gone to many AA meetings as a support and my heart breaks and my soul aches for those who have suffered the madness of these types of addictions. All to say that perhaps being part of an online group may be better for me. Thx for all that you do. Your suffering wasn't in vain. Happy healing.
I'm surprised 'isolation' is not considered an addiction or aggravation. Surrendering makes me feel uncomfortably vulnerable. I don't trust. How can one who is addicted to people/codependency truly surrender and trust that anyone in the addiction recovery program won't use and abuse someone who is codependent?
P.S. I don't trust therapists either.
Isolation is so difficult. It is a safe place and can therefore be addictive - but it is also a pain place. I lived for quite some that I wondered if I died how long would it be before anyone knew? My first decision was that I wanted to live..I then surrendered to God. Prayers to you in your journey.
@@richardburd6446 Yes, it is a safe place. A place I find difficult to get out of. It's a bit of an oxymoron but I've imprisoned myself so that I may be freed from the painful madness of my suspicious, untrusting and fearful nature of people. And I who love's to love people.
I too have often thought the same as you about dying and wondering how long it would take someone to notice. I don't know how to surrender. Thank you for your prayers Richard, mine seem to be bouncing off the ceiling. Happy healing
@@richardburd6446 P.S. Also thank you for sharing your thoughts with me.
@@MsCaterific - Thank you for your response CaBo - I understand your fearful nature of people and it is well founded indeed. But you must strive to trust yourself (operative word being STRIVE) and then only trust the divine intelligence that permeates us all. This will lead you to people you CAN trust. Get still and be silent. Be at peace with yourself - no judgement of your past or present!!! People you can trust will emerge. That is my hope for you. It is a place you can leave on your terms. I wish you well in this endeavor.
@@richardburd6446 Your words are healing words. Thx #Striving
