Massey Hall (Toronto)
Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, Paul Haslinger.
Tangerine Tree Volume 44: Toronto 1986 features one more concert from the 1986 North American tour. The music from this concert held at Massey Hall (Toronto) is quite similar to that of the other shows of that tour, of which some are already released as Tangerine Tree or Tangerine Dream releases. But this record features a unique, officially unreleased composition that was performed on this concert only. It is titled Fantasy Fair on this release but known by the name Vondelpark on some previously released bootlegs. The composition is stylistically similar to Dolphin Dance with heavier percussions, and it features a unique guitar solo by Edgar Froese. - Hudba
I recently found my ticket from this show!
This is the recording I made of this concert.
Nice 🙂
Sony Cassettes get er done✌️
A heartfelt thankyou ! This is my favorite lineup and favorite era. The sounds and the melodies are just perfect! You managed to make a recording with a very high quality ! Absolute superb ! I will listen to this many times !
Thanks once again... Great period, with time code tags and now chapters! Thank You!!! All the Best Richard
I was at this show. It was the Optical Race tour. Andy Summers opened the show by himself.
Im a huge TD fan and i've never heard this gig before, and this is first time I'd even heard of Fantasy fair, superb.. The guitar solo reminds me of Jerome's in backstreet hero.
I stood along time in the ticketline (boy does that date me) to get front row seats for this show, It was well worth it
@Russell Collier How could I resist this? My favorite band of all times, and the city of my birth!
I was there!!!! Massey hall
I saw them at Massey Hall in 1992. Great show!
Me too - we drove in from Minnesota of all places too.
Tangerine Dream to jedyna światowa potega muzyki elektronicznej. Jesteście NAJLEPSI.
tak to genialna muzyka, chociaż najlepsze lata to to 78 - 86
@@tangerinus69 tak, to moja subiektywna ocena
Wonderful thanks. Even with the Unicorn theme. Tears in the eyes. Greetings from the Netherlands
Great band. The one and only time I saw them was at this show. Amazed to be reminded of that time. Now as i remember it, a transformer went defective and they couldn't finish the show.
I was at this show. The transformer died...but most of that fans hung around and they came back on and finished the show. Edgar came out and said it was the only time (up until that point) that he'd seen most of the crowd stay after an outage... I remember Andy Summers opened the show.
Beautiful!! Wish they would come back to Toronto with the new line up
I was there!! Incredible! Never thought I"d ever see them live being from east of Buffalo,, NY, (Rochester). After the show they all came outside. Ended up getting only Haslinger's autograph. Edgar & Chris Franke to talk to would have been awhile---huge amount of fans surrounding them when my friend & I realized they really did come out! Massey Hall was perfect for them----what a beautiful venue w/ great acoustic's! Can this show be purchased on CD?
I'm liking some of new stuff w/ the new line-up. Didn't think I would. Guess Edgar's son, Jerome couldn't stop them from keeping going, because that's what Edgar wanted before we lost this amazingly talented artist!
@@rickmiller9981 UK 2022 tour was (IMHO) the best TD tour I have seen in 40 years
A Canadian promoter approached their manager before Covid stuck. No concrete plans atm, but if TD were to play anywhere in North America then I think it would be Canada first (but this is always down to promoters).
@@rickmiller9981 Tangerine Dream did an official release from the 1986 U.S. tour (recorded in Cleveland) titled 'Vault IV'
Tangerine Dream Classic Gold Recording Live, released March 2005
I was there and I wonder if they didn't do Fantasy Fair / Vondelpark because as I recall they had problems getting Edgar's guitar to come through the PA earlier in the concert during "Ride on the Ray". So by the time it was finally audible he played guitar like he was a raging bull but it was fairly short (in fact there was one section where Chris played a drum fill on the keyboards and started "Ride on the Ray" again so they could finish the song. Anyway, it was interesting and something not often heard.
this is beautiful. however, I find the reactions of the public somewhat abnormal, considering this is ambient and rather harmonic type of music. anyways, thank you for sharing!
"LE-GEND!!!" (1:28:15) Too funny.
