- In this video, Sam @peaks4719 demonstrates how to model a realistic embankment scene on a modern image OO scale model railway layout using a number of readily available modelling materials such as plaster, sand & static grass.
He walks you through the basic techniques used in the construction of the landscape and then uses several of our kits to add detail and realism including:

Beautiful work, but the real challenge is doing this in n scale...
What is it with the overally short dramtic bits
This was a really good video. Is there any chance of filming it in HD going forward, thanks 👍
Hi Scot i did my best to upload the video in a better quality, we spent ages trying to get it off my phone it was a memory issue , we are currently sorting out a digital camera for the channel . All being well the next one should be in HD . Regarding this video we may still be able re upload a better quality version in time
Thanks👍🏻
@@peaks4719 Thanks for the reply. I watched on my 4K tv which always makes non-HD stuff look bad. I did really enjoy the video though, you did a great job.
This is a set-piece, not a diorama. A diorama has false perspective and is a mixture of flat background and modelled foreground and intermediate. Jack Nelson was the master of that.
From the dictionary: a diorama is
a model representing a scene with three-dimensional figures, either in miniature or as a large-scale museum exhibit. 👍
Dia...through. You look from one point THROUGH modelled foreground to a painted flat background. If you use the word diorama for every little piece of modelled scenery, most with no background, when would you use the word with any real meaning?
I think we'll agree to disagree on this one. It's a vignette of real life that we've created, background or no background. It's depiction of what could easily be a real life scene. So it's a diorama in our book. Stay safe! :)
