- The NextEra Energy 250 at Daytona was the first race of the NASCAR Truck Series season. Zane Smith took first place on a restart after lap 65 and never looked back. He was declared the winner after a red flag caused a rain stoppage after 79 laps. Travis Pastrana finished a career-best 13th place.

Not a good start for Deegan . She has to get out of the middle or rear of the pack .
She finished 4th in the first stage. She got caught up in a wreck due to a lot people staying out during pit stops and started further back

great story from Mike Joy about how Tiny Lund won the Daytona 500. Have learned a lot about AJ Foyt, David Pearson, Cale Yarborough and Trevor Bayne's Daytona 500 wins, but never Lund's. Clint ought to quiet down and enjoy Mike's history lessons like Darrell Waltrip and Larry Mac did.

When u have a high speed track and light weight trucks at Max speed trying to run 3wide. Draft wind takes its course I love the trucks at darlington sc . High speed short track Is where magic happens

This race reminded me why I stopped watching this Series....immature, impatient, iRacing know it all's who think it is cool to go 3-wide and take out other drivers who actually deserve to be there. Don't worry, we will pack it all up and do it again at the next race, then, the next, until we make it to Phoenix where the Team who survived the iRacing Junkyard Madness wins the Championship.
The chances they were taking at 3 wide started EARLY, and was some of the stupidest racing you can do. My 7 year old grandson could have done better.
I agree. These guys cannot hold a candle to the guys of yesteryear. However, in their defense, there’s almost no veterans & certainly no veterans like an Earnhardt, Petty, Labonte’s, and the list goes on. It’s ALL kids nowadays. They’re retiring like they play the other sports 😂 a driver should be able to at least race till he’s 50.

I never thought I would say this, I am really impressed with Austin Dillon. Finally a CLEAN CUT, well dressed young man representing NASCAR. I am 69 and been a fan since I was old enough to watch TV. I do not like all the drivers looking like bums and acting like they do now days. Thanks Austin and his grandfather Richard!

As long as Nascar does nothing to fix the AERO on these trucks to stop them from spin ing out then this series will always be doomed to not have any fans in the Grand stands.

Everyone knows the rules. If the race gets to halfway or stage 2, whatever comes first and rain hits, they can call it. Regardless of who was the leader at the time. Unless he wants a rule that states the race has to go, it's full distance no matter how long it takes. Or is he's upset that his driver didn't win and is crying fowl?
