This tank got worse armor in this update compared to its first appearance in Open Test. They removed the side skirt armor model that it had before (now it's just for looks) that has 50mm thickness lol, and the LFP got nerfed from 145mm to 120mm. If they kept it the same as it was in the test, this tank would be the best tier 9 premiums to date
Also the playstyle of this Tiger Maus should be compared to the Vk B instead of Mauschen because of the weaker side and larger LFP

I think it is better so. We do not want that much OP tanks in the game. I think the tank itself is pretty good and very good balanced.
A tank doesn´t need to be that good to be the best T9 premium tbh

it's like with MAUS, the enemy loads gold and the tank turns into a DMG bag.

@@mkul7ra_xx of course, you can stick to the building, block 20k dmg, but you won't do anything, you won't get anything from it, because the game doesn't count blocked dmg like assist dmg. And every time you want to take a shot, you collect dmg yourself. I have destroyed hundreds of Maus, this tank is no opponent.

@@-dany-3374that is true, tanks with bad frontal turret only rely on oponents mistakes. You have to fight your urge to peek.
I don’t know how you can be subscribed to main channel but not the extra channel. It’s like having 2 daily doses of skill in the same day if he uploads to this one, plus the “Best of” series is awesome and very entertaining to watch. I learned how to play various tanks by watching those as well as how to deal with those same tanks if I was on the other team. Great content as always! Thank you Skill and editors of the video!
I've noticed this too, artillery shots go through this tank like hot knife through butter... not sure if this is a bug or armor model issue, it feels like getting shot in Skorpion!
That engine deck seems to be a big problem, especially against arty. This tank just feels like super heavy, and in the last adjustment they took the super heavy out of it.

the top of the engine deck is 40mm, arty is going to have soo much fun. Also does this mean a 122mil ap round can ricochet off the lower cheek into the engine deck?
i also noticed arty does a lot of HE damage to certain tanks even though they have a ton of armor, the tier 8/9 italian TD for example take so much damage when arty hits the front of the turret/upperplate of the hull, like 400-500 damage.
this tank has really weak engine armor (40mm) so with 121+ gun you can overmatch it
Thats cause of arty's echanics of HE. Whenever it hitsyou the HE is seeking weak spots on tank within explosion range and when you have bad top roof/side armor you'll become more damage .

Engine deck of Tiger-Maus is 40mm and belly is 35mm on most of it and 70mm on the front bit. That's probably why it's taking so much arty damage.
Havent seen the random events yet in the maps. I always get Nam, Tundra, Berlin and Paris.
Thats WG for saving my money this year. ❤️ This was the only tank I was interested in. Since you nerfed it to being almost useless, I dont have to buy.
As an experienced maus player(have 1500 battles wirh it 56%) I would say it is better to have 2 setups, 1 with super heavy spall liner for battles with 2 artas where you would be focused and other with turbo for the rest. This is really important thing. In many battles no one but arta penetrating you. With spall liner you are reducing damage in a half and some artas will not do damage at all so keep this in mind

I think spall liner has no effect if arta penetrates you but no they arent penetrating maus with HE
It's advice like this that would help me step up my gameplay. However am gunna keep on alt tabbing reddit or something and being late.
I am also 3 marked Maus player with 61% winrate and 370 battles. Stabs, Rammer and Vents was all I need. But after field modifications I dropped Stabs for Bounty Hardening to get 3500 Hp
This tank suffer from engine damage sometimes 2-3 per game

I have seen fhew Tiger Maus versions that were supposed to be, but this one is odd. I wonder will WG ever make Krokodil TD.
On the one hand I'm pretty happy they added a premium tier IX that is strong yet not overpowered. On the other hand it's just a copy-pasted mauschen with increased numbers, so once you get it you never going to play mauschen again. Now the borderline between OP tier IX premiums is really thin.

Tiger-Maus will be playable from a few days to a few weeks at most. After that, no one will leave with it. Let's add the fact of unfair matchmaking and rng. As you can see, artillery can do more damage to this vehicle than many gold bullets that hit it. As usual with the rest...

Wouldn’t the Experimental hardening thing be better on this tank?
To be fair,the game developed to a stage,whenever you see an armoured tank,you instantly load the gold,so thick flat armour doesn't really matter anymore..This tank,alongside with the Maus like tanks,will soak the gold shells like nothing else..free farm ..
That's exactly what WG want. They nerfed the T29 into a gold spammer, now these gold sponges they're calling tanks.
In a couple 100 years maybe WG will realize the problem with the "Golden Age" as well...MAYBE...
Funny how they sweat to introduce more and more armoured tanks instead of just rebalancing/regulating premium rounds...BUT its still WG so why are we wondering? ......

I’m looking forward to this tank, but i will say this is definitely a sign of what to expect in the future of this game. We are gonna have strong tier 9 premiums, it’s just a matter of time but tier 9 will become like tier 8 is currently and that is quite sad.

Tiger Maus is not strong since its armor is basically all in the turret. If you can hide your hull(and we are talking about a German "super heavy" here), then it can work, but other than that the armor is not going to help you. You are one big exp pinata for artys with that 40mm engine deck that is a size of a small medium tank.

I'm interested to know how HE would splash on the turret top when hitting that fake cupola. Seems like a legit way to hit with HE when you catch one sidescraping.
HE doesnt splash anymore apart from Artillery shells. Thats the HE nerf a long time ago. You will have to HIT the fake cupola right in the weak spot, not around it.

The engine deck is only 40mm thick. Arty hits anywhere on the top and yeah it's gonna do a lot of damage.

There was none tier X battle. 4 games in a row as hightier. My MM has never been like hightier 4 times in a row.

arta slaps, your roof on the tiger-maus is all is weak as F. 40mm on top, 35mm under the tank and you have weakspots in the tracks undersite also 35mm. mauschen has 50 all arround less he exposed!
also WG nerfed. befor the tank get final sidescirts was "spaced" armor (with 50mm > crazy. but he can turn this down to 20 or 30mm).
So almost the same as one of the best t9 heavy tanks, e-75
somehow, this seems more like a semi sniper heavy than a brawler to me. tier for tier, armour is much worse than vk7501 but everything else is better than its fellow tier 9 german heavies

Whoa…tank needs armor and HP buff. By this I mean it should have engine deck buff so it cannot be overmatched and the HP doesn’t stack up compared even to mauschen

14:30 - Did you look at the upper deck armor? There IS NONE. So if anything is higher/taller and shooting down on the front deck (engine) or an arty shell they are going to f*ck this thing up HARD. Most calibers above 105 can overmatch it if they can get even a little angle to hit it.
The worst thing about this, is the scam that is having a premium tank, with a premium account, and still losing credits lol. What's next? You'll need to pay for WoT Plus and WoT Plus Plus to start making credits again haha
Battles are too fast, and have been for about three years. Honestly, I think that within two years the average battle time will be 3 minutes; two of which will be getting in range to fire.

Even though this tank good, it is only good in good maus players who knows to angle. So bad players will hate this tank. It doesnt have the features that obj 703v2 defender or other powerful heavies has. You cant play this one good if u are not familiar with german heavies :)
I don't think this tank is overtuned, I think the Mauschen just sucks and needs a buff. It is outclassed even by the E75
