Honky Tonk Song lyrics
Got me room in a cheap hotel
My head was a spinnin' and didn't feel well
I laid right down and tried to go to sleep
A band kept a playin' in the joint underneath
I picked up my pillow and I covered up my head
But the band kept a playin' and a shaken my bed.
Honky tonk all night long
Honky tonk same old song
Honky tonk my money's all gone
Honky tonk she done me wrong.
I turned and I tossed
And I couldn't go to sleep
'Cause the band kept a playin'
With a honky tonk beat.
I'm so blue my baby's gone she took all my money
And she left me all alone
I'm tryin' to forget her but I don't know what to do
The honky tonk song keeps a leakin' through
I picked up my pillow and I covered up my head
But the band kept a playin' and a shaken my bed.
Honky tonk all night long
Honky tonk same old song
Honky tonk my money's all gone
Honky tonk she done me wrong.
Honky tonk all night long
Honky tonk same old song
Honky tonk my money's all gone
Honky tonk she done me wrong...

What a lively bunch.
Webb could rock for sure! He's at ease with any kind of song, and now days artists can't match him at all.
Now thats
Real country
Music
One of the
Best
Ladie’s an Gentlemen!....The wordl’s most emotionless backing band
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Just had a smoke before this & cracking up as I read this
This is pure delight 😊 😃 😄 thank you 😊
An older Sammy Pruett (Jack's bro) on guitar - man, Sammy went back to when he played with Hank Williams, but also a number of other artists.
Don't think I've ever seen a clip of Webb singing this live
Wish I had the tabs for the lead guitar on this!!
The best performance on that tape was Cowtown.
2packs4sure ...I'd like to see that, plus I've got a 45 of his titled Louisiana ...wish somebody would post that?

2packs4sure Got it,thank you so much,it's at the top of my latest playlist as I write!
John,
Did Webb have his own syndicated TV show in the 70's? I've seen bits and pieces of this tape and every one has the same band on it.
This was an attempt by Webb,, "I Believe" to get a show, from the looks of it I'd guess 1974 ish...
I'm sure Webb paid for everything,, band, studio, cameras, etc. and put it all together himself like an audition tape.
I'm not exactly sure what his motives were but he never had a show.
Then in 1990 Webb took the tapes, repackaged them, added his own on camera commentary, and sold it on TV or Goldmine magazine,, I can't remember were I saw it.... Seems like it was TV.
I bought the VHS at the time and had it UNTIL the recent flood.
Most of it I consider weak,, though he does a good job on COWTOWN,,, I remember the young bass player was really smiling through Cowtown...
I also remember on one of the songs breaks meter badly, just keeps going, and the guitar player with the super duper white hair-do rolls his eyes.
The last song he sings to some lady (trying to make it romantic) and it's the corniest thing you've ever seen in your friggin' life !!
I THINK THE SONG WAS SOMEDAY.
The dvd version is still available I think,,,,, but it's a hard watch overall.
Nascarfam88ta I know I haven’t
Shame about the wig,but loved watching the band!
It ain't a wig, it's just that early 70's look,,,,, Webb never went bald.
2packs4sure ....its just me being mischievous .....probably because I've got this anti seventies Elvis, big black hair shades and jumpsuit thing...I love Webb!
Got it
Great oldie. But really the band looked different. Anyone know names of the members? mos60
Don't know the names, but the bass player kinda looks like Joe Bonsall from the oaks.
And the lead guitarist just looks miserable
The guitar player is Sammy Pruett and the steel player is Don Helms. The fiddle player is Vassar Clements. Not sure about the others though.
@@nascarfan88ta Sammy is like Luther Perkins... They all look dead
@@shuffle877 Hank Williams' guitarist and steelman.
