Very informative, thnx. I tested the 18 awg 6 pin cables on my not overclocked device and it got warm after several hours. Not dangerously hot but can never trust them either.

I have been using 230 w upgraded laptop power supply on all my KsoPro's . I hope that the plug doesn't have issues.

you should be good on 19V because you are using only 9amps max on 19v for overclocks, this issue is only for 12V system

@@Stantheman-jv5kvit’s a personal choice but need to use a lot of caution. Laptops PSU also can overheat in hot incitement. For me laptops psu didn’t works I have to run 10 ks0pro so I can only use 12V system to get rid of lots of wiring from laptop PSU plus I don’t think they are very reliable for long term comparing to the server PSU that can run 24/7. My solution was to solder silicone wires directly to board.

I know my capability in basic electronics and I'd easily be able to do this, but I'm extremely worried to try it since breakout board 6-pin output voltage is 12V and input voltage range on KS0 is 19-20V. If I were to try this, I'd get inline breakers installed on each connector in case the amperage spikes and possibly a boost converter to 19V. Or I'd find a 19V breakout board.

I have used 19v boosters, and it uses more power to boost to 19v, by the way that’s the only way I could overclock ks0 OG but ks0pro runs better on 12v with a lot better temps and power consumption when overclocked. The only issue is the load on the barrel connector over 10amp connector fails it is a matter of time on one unit my failed after 4 month on the other after 1 week. So xt60 holds up 15Amp easily without overheating. And yes you are correct pcie load over 150W kinda dangerous have to use super quality cables like veteran miner does or I just double the pcie cable just like on GPU ( basically use one pcie cable to make 2) and connect to xt60 . Easy to do and would not fail. I have several pcie cables failed at the psu breakout board connector just like on GPU. So double the cable and good to go.
