    The Wakesurf Edge by Liquid Force clearly has the biggest wave if you view the side-by-sides on a full screen computer at high-res. All were taken at the same camera angle in this vid, and Wakesurf Edge was clearly the only one whose wave was taller than the horizon line. You can see that the curl is almost out of the field of view of the camera, meaning it is super long too. I've run many different shapers on my boat and Wakesurf Edge makes the best wave out of them all.

    I'd like to get into wake surfing. I currently ride a long board and have some questions please;1) Did you add any ballast or just the Wake shaper to get the change in wake2) how much load does it put on the engine 3) For wake surfing do you require huge amounts of power4) Can any shaft drive hull work with one of these (I assume you can't have a keel as the hull must slide with the wave shaper?)Thanks for your input, Much appreciated.

      theskyerow, I was not able to ride them all. It turned out to be too much to get all of these wake shapers together and have a boat driver and observer to ride. As soon as we had friends on the boat, my goal to test each one went to....well you know what. I do well when I am out on the water by myself, but it is too much with friends on the boat to test each one. I suggest you look at the last image and choose what wake shaper has the cleanest wave, but also the best price and the smallest form factor that will fit well under the seat or storage locker. I hope you found this useful!

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  Před rokem

      Five years later, not much has changed. They have come out with some slightly larger models, but those are only for larger 23 foot and longer boats. If you put the larger model devices on a smaller boat, you’re just gonna create too much drag and waste fuel. Playing with the placement is helpful and you will find a sweet spot. But these devices also need to be used in conjunction with different speeds and weight to find the optimum performance.

    I just bought the WakeForce Edge by Liquid Force. Haven’t had a chance to try it yet but planning to this weekend. I will report back. Obviously it won’t be a comparison to anything else other than using no surf wedge at all. I have a 2014 Moomba Mojo 2.5 with max factory ballast plus another 1,000 pounds. Has a nice wake for wake boarding but I’ve never been able to get enough push to wake surf for more than 30 seconds to a minute after letting go of the rope. I’ve tried every configuration in the book. Hoping a WakeSurf wedge will do the trick.

      Love it. Super easy to take on and off and once on it is rock solid. At least doubled the size of my wake surfing wake on my 2013 Moomba Mojo 2.5. I use in in combination with the factory wake surfing plate which was suboptimal alone but now in combo with the Liquid Force WakeSurf Wedge my wake has doubled. Before using this product, I was unable to surf within a rope for more than a minute or two. With this wedge I am able to surf until I’m exhausted and can’t surf any more. Highly recommend the Liquid Force product but I haven’t tried the other ones.
