- I've always said that Hardstyle is basically just EDM for metal heads, and Rooler and Sickmode may have just dropped the hardest song of 2024 with their new single "Too Angry". I also think this may be the first Hardstyle diss track I've ever heard.

I don't know how far into the sweet world of hard dance you've delved into, but for example Deadly Guns has quite a lot of rawstyle edits of metal songs. Be sure to check some of them out. Couple of examples by him: Break your face / Aerials / Falling away from me ;)

I never expected you to listen to rawstyle, it's one of my favorite genre, nothing else makes me go as hard as rawstyle does.

You might want to check out Riot Shift as well. They are also part of the AR-Gang and have heavy Trap Metal and Pop Punk influences in their Hardstyle Songs. They do not only produce their tracks but also write, record and perform their own vocals ranging from rap to metal, which makes them pretty unique in the Hardstyle scene.

didn't know you were into hardstyle, i've been into it for more than a decade, there's a lot of oldschool hardstyle stuff you might like: Gunz for Hire - Immortal, Brostex - Can You Hear My Bass (and the dj was 14 when he made that song), A-Lusion - To The Ends....

I get and like the energy, but unlike even harsh metal, this somehow is "stressful" to listen to for me. Feels like doing work somehow 😀
It is exhausting yes. A full hour set of just thos would probably leave me very exhausted but I would still had a lot of fun bht yes I love the genre but I can never listen to it for very long.

oh Tank i am born 1981 east germany 2000ies i started becoming a total metal geek mostly for Numetal Chore of all kinds ect. But i also started listening to hard electronic sounds in 2010 so i understand you totally when you said - this is also smth for metalheads

Don't know if you already know them, it's a rawstyle project by DEEZL and So Juice that leans heavily into a metal sound.

I would love if you reacted more to Harddance. I also love both genres and especially "So Juice" and "DEEZL" with either "CYBERGORE" or "DOOMSDAY" are incredibly fitting for both camps. Combining dark metal with absolutely raw sounds.
The genre you listen to btw here is Rawstyle or rather already XtraRaw. Normal Hardstyle is way softer with less emphasis on the Kick switches and more melody. The world of Harddance is huge and you can find really anything here imo.

I feel the relationship between metal and this type/types of music is amd has always been there from early on ...im 42 i remember being 20 in rock city Nottingham, Liverpools the krazy house,download Festival headbanging to slipknot,pant,NIN for it to kick/be mixed into prodigy or pendulum and the places bouncing with the same energy ,ahh the good ol days 😂😂😂😂

And yeah this might not be hardstyle, but I cannot differentiate between subgenres of this stuff myself.
I don't really like the new modern rawstyle sound, I much prefer the older golden era euphoric style. But respect for getting into hardstyle. I was bullied for being into hardstyle at school, so it's cool to see more people getting into this genre.
Added note: I used to rag on this new sound of hardstyle a lot, so I'm pretty sure this song is written about guys like me. It's essentially a diss track aimed at me lol!

You should react to Anderex & Mutilator ft. Disarray - Twin Turbo. It has some of the hardest drops I´ve heard, some harsh vocals and an amazing melody. Loved the reaction.

This music is absolutely not for me. But it's fun to see you enjoy it so much, Tank. It's interesting to see how you notice things about it that fly over my head. You "get it" as someone who is in that community the same way an inveterate metalhead "gets things" about metal music.
I'm by far no expert on all the EDM subgenres, but this sounds more like Hardcore to me than Hardstyle. I like Hardstyle, especially the Euphoric Hardstyle variant(s), but the track you've just reacted to is out of my comfort zone ;-) PS: From the moment you were talking about Hardstyle in your videos I've been waiting for a reaction to some festival recordings, like Defqon 1 and many more. Now those are some big stages and decors ;-)
Hardcore is faster. This is not Hardstyle but the subgenre Rawstyle/XtraRaw.

So you like the Neophyte bassdrum. These style of bassdrums come from the Gabber / Hardcore scene from the 90's/2000's. I loved that so much. Its my main problem with hardstyle most bassdrums are kinda well... pussy. This song reminds me alot to the old Thunderdome albums but more chaotic.
I just saw Peacock with Ally the piper do a very cool track. And peacock has a version of Drink from Alestorm.
And i kinda enjoy Jiyagi (Major Tom / Boulevard of broken Dreams) Its frenchcorre, basicly very fast.

As a metal guy by trade, my gateway to EDM is different. Prodigy and Pendulum are my gateways. However, both of them are more DnB and that’s more a UK scene, or at least it was. Not now.
Funny thing, I saw Pendulum recently, and the amount of Electric Callboy hoodies shows there’s a cross over between Metal and EDM/DnB these days. Something that was unheard of even 10 years ago. This will only be good for both genres. There’s no guilty pleasures in music, listen to what ever, make yourself unique.

You clearly have no clue how hard it is to create something like this without clipping. Hardstyle is one of THE most complex genre to create just because of the Kicks even though it doesn't sound like it haha. But yea I totally understand why it's not everyones cup of Tea.
Tank, mate, if you want a Hardstyle song that is *VERY* reactable, I highly recommend Hardstyle Fish by Little Big. Not only is it a banger, it's hilarious. Plus, Russian humour.
And again, please react to some Angerfist. Actually Dutch. Hardest Hardstyle I know of. Pennywise, Crusader, Send Me to Hell, pa-lenty more. And you're right - I am a metalhead (well, Deathcore-head), and I love Hardstyle. You should check out some Japanese Speedcore too. m1dy (pronounced like "midi", I believe) is a particularly fine example.

Four minutes is not very long for the EDM I like. I liked the instrumentals more than the vocals, but I mostly listen to Infected Mushroom, Becca, and DeadMau5 for my EDM fix. Cat Hanged by Becca was the first EDM to hook me on the genre.
I love metal and Hardstyle, My favorite metal band is Electric Callboy, and my favorite hardstyle DJ are Sickmode & Rooler. You are my favorite youtuber, once I saw the tumbnail from this video my mind was BLOWN! It is the perfect cross over!! I couldn't dream better!!!! :D

Hardstyle has it's roots in the 1990s with the other Harddance genres like Hardcore/Gabber. Early Hardstyle is defined by the so called Reversebass and is usually between 140-150 bpm. Classic Hardstyle became the norm in 2009 and where most would consider it the golden age of the genre. It mainly never left Europe/ The Netherlands. With the rise of TikTok the genre exploded in 2021 and while usually the genre only changed slowly over every 5 years or so now a lot more people from GenZ where joining changing the genre almost monthly with harder Kickdrums, rougher Leads and more Drops and more switch ups. It became quite chaotic. This here btw isn't really Hardstyle as normal Hardstyle has way more emphasis on the Melody and is less Raw. This here is Rawstyle or Xtra Raw which is a sub genre of Rawstyle which is Rawstyle but with even heavier Kicks and Sounds.

I would love to see you react to more hardstyle, I went through a similar trajectory as you are, started with metal, but being from Belgium, I then went into the harder styles, and ever since, I've been listening to both, but always 1 more than the other, and this switches every few years 😂
