Oh, for goodness sake, then don't do it while you're sleeping! The OP asked who has eight hours free to do this sort of thing. My answer, again, is we all do. Any day you happen to be at home you can stick the fruit in a very low oven and leave it all day. If you want to, you can open the oven door every hour like they recommended. I did my own way. You can still clean the house, or mow the lawn, or watch all the Tasty videos you want. The oven will do the work for you. It won't stop you from doing other things.

    Cinammon Pineapple Rings
    Ingredients:
    Pineapple rings (I used 3)
    Sugar
    Cinnamon
    Vanilla ice cream
Whatever fruit you want on the side
    Method:
Mix sugar and cinnamon to taste. Spread the pineapple rings out on a tray. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar on the pineapples and bake for 1 hour at a low heat (I used an air frier when I tried it the second time and it was even better, so if you have an air frier I recommend you use that). Take it out of the.. Cooking instrument (?) and serve with ice cream and other fruits.

The oven is supposed to be as low as possible so it just dries the fruit and doesn't cook it. You don't use a hot oven. I often do roasts or stews in the oven at 300-350° for maybe four hours. Setting the oven at 160° for six to eight hours uses roughly the same amount of energy.

@@Alistar_95 Dunno about others, but I personally think they're just not the same. Maybe it's because you yourself never had the cravings for them, but dehydrated fruits/vegetables and fresh fruits/vegetables just don't give the same satisfaction.
Dried fruits are a lot more... snackable? It's much easier to just mindlessly pop them in your mouth without getting full as fast. They taste... lighter but have more intense of a flavor? Like how freeze-dried strawberries are a lot more tart and concentrated of strawberry flavor compared to fresh strawberries? Er, something along those lines. Never had to explain them before, so this is more of just rambling about them on the spot...
TL;DR: They're just really delicious when you're craving them. XD

Yk, when you try to save money by making your own dried fruit is actually cost more than just buy them at store.
