I have never been so happy to see one of your videos! My dad passed yesterday. I have been caring for him 24/7 for years and now I have a big empty hole in my heart and life. Just to sit and watching something peaceful is such a mental relief!
(((Crystal))) So sorry for your loss..
@@karenhalgren3889 thank you so much! It’s so sweet of u!
Sorry for your loss 🙏
So sorry😢❤️🙏
I'm so sorry Crystal. I hope you continue to find peace in places like this.
Luke, for future reference when backing up a trailer, put one hand at the 6 o’clock position on the steering wheel, move it the direction you want the trailer to go. Wan the trailer to go left, move the 6 o’clock hand left, etc It works. ❤️👍🏻
I've just made a mental note of this maneuver with the 6 o'clock hand - Good One!.
Yes this 100%%%
@@puff427 Well yeah, people that don't normally tow would likely not know that.
@@puff427 not everyone is a trucker... most people never tow anything in their life
I never thought of trying that. I can't back up a trailer at all not even attached to a lawn mower🤣
That's really nice, Luke. Enjoy good buddy! Strength and honor!
It's good to have a base camp.
Congratulations!
Keep Smilin!
I was raised in a farmhouse with a corrugated iron roof, one of the strangely-satisfying sounds is that of rain on the metal roof. This video brings back those memories.
I lived on my sailboat for ten years. Love the sound of the rain and weather on the cabin top and around me. Now as to 3 hours of rain. Come to the Pacific Northwest. That is just a sprinkle, try days to weeks (though not as hard as what you showed). Nice trailer.
I was raised on Saving Private Ryan movies and U571 and mostly WW2 movies and the sound of rain does something to me 😩
Nice setup! I recommend a “MaxAir” or equivalent cover for the roof vent. Lets you keep it open in the rain and on the road. Also suggest some ground anchors since you’re subject to high winds. I have permanent ground anchors and some dedicated nylon tie-down ropes for my travel trailer as part of my hurricane preparedness plan.
I had my RV built to order by the Oliver company in Hohenwald, TN mostly for the insulation aspects but also because being built to order they didn't throw much of a fit when I asked for very, very durable points to affix lines to in storms. It's 23'6" and twice the weight nearly though. I fitted it with 640 amp hours of lithium iron phosphate batteries and a 3.6kw inverter, and a victron solar system with 400 watts semi-permanently installed on the roof and another 600w that are ground mount that I put in the back of my f150 when traveling and deploy if there's a sunny side. There's also a 7kw fuel injected honda eu7000is that I take with us in the Winter and on very long trips in places with dense forest canopy but no 30 or 50 a plugs. That generator allows one to run all the systems in the RV and get a good charge on that battery bank simultaneously.
When it's alternating current air conditioner dies I'm going to replace it with a DC one.
@@hithere7382 I would LOVE to see your setup! Any chance you might put up a video?
Fantastic reply. Enjoy watching your videos. Be safe. ✝️
Hi, Art; Do you live in a hurricane-prone area?! (I’d be SO UNCERTAIN REGARDING those tie downs! Hurricanes DESTROY BUILDINGS, don’t you know?! PLEASE…be CAREFUL regarding hurricanes…. 👍🏼😃👣
@@alvashoemaker8536 Yes. I live east of Houston. Agree that in a strong hurricane probably won’t be much of a travel trailer left. I evacuate, but want to minimize the storm damage at home. After Rita or Ike, I’ve seen a travel trailer blown over that would have been fine if tied down. The ground anchors I use are like they use for mobile homes only a bit smaller.
I miss the rain. I download some of your videos so I can watch them over again, for ambiance. They are soothing. They are like little vacations. Thank you.
You got it made in that trailer/cabin. My all time favorite type of weather…heavy rain, and some whipping wind. Nothing relaxes me more than listening (and watching) to the rain, not to mention the solitude. To me, a little slice of Heaven.
Boy, these water-proof tents are getting more and more elaborate as the days go on 😂 this one even comes with wheels!!
My vote for the name is "the Wolf Shack"
VO2MAX as in ham licence, or VO2MAX as in breathing values?
@@birdmandave didn't know that was a ham licence thing hahaha. Its the breathing values one that I named my channel after. I am obsessed with human performance and pushing the limits of what we can do
That thunder at the beginning with headphones on was amazing sound. I loved hearing it ripple across the sky from the left ear to the right. Well done.
There are lots of videos on CZcams of storms, howling blizzard winter storms, fireplace etc . Very relaxing
That’s awesome Luke. Happy for you and Susie. Congrats
Hi Luke , I like your New "Wolfs Den " Trailer , looks really well made , hope you and Suzie have many great Adventures in it .
Magnetic screen doors for the openings to keep the bugs out but have doors open.
I think thats one of the strongest storms you've filmed on this channel (excluding the snow), just incredible. The Cabin looks fantastic and so much potential with that space.
It just howls name me “Wolf Cabin”! It is nice! Great job Luke & Susie. I am looking forward to many of your adventures in the “WOLF CABIN”!
Cant wait to see the trailer tricked out with all the comforts of home! The storm was roaring while you where cozy, safe inside!
This trailer was a fantastic idea!!!
I am really impressed with your film making. The framing, motion, music choice, editing. They're a joy to watch.
Totally agree
Yes! Excellent footage of the storm and Lone Mountain
As this is semi-permanent, I would offer two suggestions. First would be to obtain four trailer tie down stakes to keep the unit where it is supposed to be. Second, I would make some sort of covering to protect the tires from sun and weather damage. This toy hauler might not be "rustic", but it will serve it's purpose.
I'd also suggest getting the tires off the ground. Sitting on them without sometimes moving the trailer to heat up the tires, they'll start to dry rot and lose air. Best option would to remove the tires altogether so it will not roll/get stolen and preserve them for when you do need to move it. But at least raise the trailer so the tires are off the ground.
maybe take off the wheels when not in used. ore so its not sits on the wheels all the time.
@@---rb7ug And check up on the durability of the tires. Some(maybe not all) sellers put the cheapest tires on they can find, ask me how I know.
Usually on a trailer, the tires age-out before they wear out. Good practice is to cover them but still consider replacing them every 5 years. My 3500# travel trailer is almost 5 years old and semi-permanently parked. I know before I can take it on a trip, I'll have to replace the tires. Oh, and grease those bearings at least every 2 years.
Love your new "cabin" Luke! Smart to have a place to hunker down in when a tent fails. And it looks nice, sturdy to. Cant wait for moore.
I love camping in storms! Great musical addition, especially the instrumental.
How about the "Wolf Den"? Always enjoy your videos, especially since we usually get little rain here in
Central Texas.
I also thought wolf den would make for a good name
I thought the Den would be perfect too 😁
The perfect name for it. Hopefully Luke sees your comment
My husband immediately said “Wolf Den” too! Prefect name!
Thats where my mind went
Love the new cabin. A cool Wolf’s den!
looking forward to how you outfit it and some wolf’s den adventures!
Oh - CO detector please!
I suggest calling it, "The Fort." Since you'll be using it as a base to test all sorts of stuff and use it as shelter in case that stuff fails or very bad weather comes in.
That storm came through north Georgia also, and was just as crazy! The Cabin is awesome! Loved this episode!💜
Congratulations Luke and Susie! I love the “Cabin!”👍
Feels and looks like home already, especially the echo of a new home 👌
Congratulations Suzie and Luke (cutest couple ever 💓)
Zzz&
Congratulations on your Cabin
You've now entered into the Weekend Warriors of Camping
CZcams Definitely Pays Well
Best yet. Looking forward to more cabin stuff.
Luke, thanks so much for posting. I'm stuck home with Covid for a week now.
Your videos are a life saver.
P.S. the cabin in awesome 👍
Hope you get to feeling better. That stuff is weird.
I've had several friends get it, and it was different with each one. Some of them were just like a mild cold, while others ended up in the hospital.
Hopefully you just have the mild cold version 👍
@@rickycowan6969 thanks, I'm 10 days in but finally feeling a little better.
Along with the usual symptoms, even my skin and teeth hurt.
TOGR videos helped take my mind off the clock ticking.
Two things, that little song that plays in the beginning of the video was very catchy! Definitely was like man this is a little tune! And Luke my friend, this is a camper not a cabin! Love ya buddy💪
That's a nice tune. I wonder who's singing it and who wrote it. Maybe Luke can post some music credit(s) when he does these kinds of things. That would help the artist / composer and help us get more familiar with other work by them.
@@__GALLANT__ Stonekeepers- Landfall, my app did find it fine
@@TheLazyFinn Thank you LazyFinn. That tune has a nice groove. If you don't mind, what app did you use to find that?
Best rain sounds ever❤ GM from Denver Colorado 4:30 am, we have an arctic freeze happening and it is COLD. I hope everyone has a beautiful day.
Im happy i found your channel.im watching this during a severe thunderstorm warning in Minnesota
Luke what a fantastic video! First, let me say I LOVE the cabin! I think it was very smart to buy what you bought and to do so with it mostly empty- you can customize it the way you want to after you've been in it for a while, great call! Secondly, the videography and music selection during the shots of the storm was beautiful! I commend you on your video skills- both shooting raw footage and editing! Very very nice! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
The cabin is a great addition! You definitely need a safe place when you're on the mountain.
I thought a cabin was made of wood (i.e. logs) or similar. If a avalanche or mud slide hits this trailer square, good luck.
I absolutely love the rain ⚡☔🌂☂️💧
Mother Nature threw Luke a welcoming party for the cabin! I think that was the perfect storm for Luke and his new home away from home.
The lightening bugs were my favorite part of this video! I was watching them in my backyard last night. They were lighting up the trees like Christmas lights! I love the way they go higher and higher the darker it gets.
Luke, if you ever take the cabin out west they do make a swamp cooler that fits a standard 14" roof opening. I have heard good things about them from the people who live in less humid areas. As a lifelong backroads RVer (and builder of such) I can say keep an eye out for an old popup with ruined canvas. I have gotten them for free before. They often have a perfectly fine direct discharge propane heater, stove top or even a range, A/C unit, water pump, tanks, et cetera.
There are instructions for making efficient swamp coolers here on you tube - saving you big bucks.
I have scavenged as well. Even a few pricey captain chair swivel base for my seats.
Thank you for allowing us to hear the beautiful thunder storm with you!😃
Absolutely love your photography..thanks for taking us along😆😆
Good looking rig… so happy for you guys! Look forward to seeing many more adventures!!! ❤️🤗💕
YEAH, Luke, you did it!!! I’m so happy for you guys. Predicting years of fun adventures for you. You’re gonna have a blast furnishing and playing with the setup. Good on you my man. I look forward to watching your fun. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve sat quietly, in my little RV, peacefully watching a couple of level one and two hurricanes blow through, real rain events, but no worse than what you have in this video. Took video of the rain and wind on my Tundra for perspective, so cool. YOU’RE GONNA HAVE SO MUCH FUN. If you can set up parking to be a drive through you’ll enjoy parking it more. Also, you may want to dig an outhouse or install a septic tank close to where you park. You’ll make a good decision. Enjoy. Kentucky
I knew i was wrong all along with the cabin! Go, camping, worry about nothing!
That rig is real nice!
I can see your happiness on your face over all your hard wok on this great set up! Congratulations!
Wow Luke, that's a really nice trailer, the possibilities are endless, if you want to make it more homely, just have Susie make a nice flower garden surrounding the trailer.
Can't wait to see how it all comes fully set up.
Thank you
I would so LOVE to be inside a "cabin" like that during a helluva storm like you are going through.
Your 'cabin' is a fantastic addition for your channel -- you have created new life and many new possibilities for the future -- WELL DONE !
Absolute genius idea for a semi-perm cabin. Love it.
The most accurate depiction out of around a 100 comments.
One small add-on, install the Velcro screens for the doors! Easy to install, and light weight! During hotter times it will keep the bugs out, but the airflow on. Hanging towels, tapestries on the walls reduces the echo effect, and will dampen the outside sounds when necessary.
Hey, Luke - great cabin! - safe and dry :-)
For anyone who doesn't know, the top of the steering wheel steers the vehicle direction, and the bottom of the steering wheel steers the trailer direction. After that it's a piece of cake.
Thank you
Congratulations to you and Susie on your new toy 😎👌💯 looks like a military shelter. Excellent for severe weather
We call our camper “Cold & Hungry”. I love your videos. Keep it up!
Great to see the new setup Luke! God knew that you needed a massive thunderstorm to test it out 🙂
Love you Luke and looking forward to Yours and Suzie's adventures with the cabin. Also, I really want a "Strength and Honor" sticker but designed by TOGR.
Luke, your videos have been really helpful & informative to me and my husband on a daily basis. We always learn something new with your videos regardless of how random it may be. And it has been consistently well thought of and planned. I just find it really impressive. I want you to realize that you are making our day. And that you are helping us stay in touch with nature all the time which also brings us peace and solitude amidst the busy work days. It also helps me greatly to reconnect with my grandpa who just left this world last August. The day I found out about it my walks became more frequent than ever same goes for my hiking and my love for camping. I feel like I am closer to him whenever I am in touch with nature & you are helping me cope through your videos. Please know how much you are a blessing to your family, friends & to others.
Not sure if someone has already mentioned this, but for maximum airflow, it is best to place a fan aboout 6-12 inches from a window facing OUT of the window. This is also assuming you have a window opened elsewhere so it has somewhere to pull air into the cabin. I won't go into the details of why, but it is due to Bernoulli's principle and difference between high and low pressure areas the fan creates. Love the videos!
Love the cabin, so cool that you can also travel with it !
Great filming, really gets you immersed in your world. Cabin looks great, looking forward to how you're going to transform it.
I admire the way you stand by your princepules, I am the same way, keep going I will keep watching
Beautiful Wow You Two Are Both So Blessed You Both Are So Amazing Love Your New Cabin And You Can Name It To...😊❤
Great video! I have two suggestions: Firstly, an awning as suggested by others that attaches to over the front door to provide relief from rain when opening the side door.
For the sound echoing inside, I would recommend marine carpet (used on boat decking) as it can be taken out the rear double doors and cleaned with a pressure cleaner when necessary. The grip floor inside the cabin would the cause of a lot of the echo. Any upholsterer who does boat trim should be able to make a custom rug from it.
Luke, I didn't see in which direction you turned the fan when you placed it near the window.
My advice would be: let it blow out of the window so it sucks the air inside the hauler out and drags fresh air in from outside (through other openings/vents).
This method is much more effective than the other way round. It also works for any house/flat when there's little wind.
Stay safe my friend, greetings from Germany
Btw: I love your new cabin! It looks so cool and cozy. Just the thing I'd spend some nights in. Hope it serves you well and I'm looking forward to future episodes with it. 😉
That’s exactly what he did
My aunt and uncle have a similar setup to yours. They haul their trailer all over just like you plan to do. After having it a couple of years they added a slightly slanted metal roof with about 2 feet of clearance above the trailer roof at the lowest side. The roof extends beyond the side door of the trailer about 10 feet. This allows them to place chairs, outdoor grill, etc. under shelter (and out of the sun). It also allows them to keep the windows open while it rains. He just recently decided to add a gutter system to catch rainwater off the roof to use for various things around the site.
good day, hope all is well. That needs a huge TOGR logo on the cabin. can't wait for more videos, Strength & Honor
Luke!! I love it! How cozy that is. And I love that it is "portable".... Can you just imagine how warm and cozy that will be in the winter? There are so many possibilities of things to do in there when making it your own. Congratulations.... I think you will have a lot of fun in there. Now it just needs Susie!
Congratulation on your Cabin!! I wanted to suggest, you can get the 6 foot wide magnetic mosquito screen for your back doors.. I did it at my cabin and I love having the doors wide open with no bugs!
This episode is beautiful. Thanks for your great cinematography.
Luke, that is awesome. I'm stoked for y'all
Congrats to you both on the new cabin! You can add a tarp or an awning to extend some outdoor space. Have fun and be safe!
Wonderful cabin choice! I have a Lance 825. Fully contained, in-bed camper on a Tundra. Love it. 4 season. The only thing is it was VERY expensive and is too small. My wife won’t step foot in it. Looks like your choice of cabin is going to fit and meet your needs well! Looking forward to see how it works for you guys. S&H!
There is something magical about being out in nature, wind and rain hammering down and your dry and loving it.
Respect.
I've been away from your channel for some time. I liked the backpacking episodes, but since I am too old for that now, I appreciate how you're branching out. Love the "cabin".
Great video--beautiful storm and sunset! Congrats on the beautiful property and cabin! A happy life to you both!
great cabin Luke love the videos...you can feel the peaceful solitude almost like your there while watching thank you for that...my vote on the cabin name " the wolf den "...
Keep towing. All the time. You will get the hang of it. I'm a trucker. Been doing it for years. You can do it Man.
Luke, so happy you grabbed that Truck when you did, you knew exactly what you wanted, found it, & brought it home Before someone else did.. That truck has been my Dream Truck for the Longest time, one day , God willing... That thing looks & sounds like Heaven...!!
I love it. It seems like a great alternative to expensive campers. Built solid, and you can rearrange to just the way you want it. Amazing video on that storm. Looking for more adventures in the cabin.
Nick name: “Gladiator”
Hey Luke! Great video! I like the idea of the “cabin”, name I thought of… wolf den! Have a good weekend!
I love your cabin. Good choice. Also I've always had a soft spot for Coleman products. I'm excited they are putting out a better line of tents. I just hope they will be as good as other high quality tents. Good luck Coleman. If you can pass Luke's testing I may be a customer.
Nothing like camping in a big storm safely with a cup of coffee. Big ole serotonin boost
Your videography and editing is amazing. Of course when nature helps with such vistas it is a little difficult to notice the human added nuances. You and, I'm assuming, your team nicely captured the power and comfort of the storm/shelter as they played together. I'm impressed.
That traylor looks like it would make a nice base, a great living space, and a really cool project. I'm a little envious.
Wow, outstanding camera work and music filming the storm, very intense. I hope you have many enjoyable adventures in your new cabin. Take care, Joe
Luke, looks like you get to product test you cabin on your first night. Look for leaks etc but from what I see, you are quite comfee and dry. Love the cabin for sure. Congrats 🎉
Hey Luke! Long time no chat. You guys are living the Empty Nester dream! Nice "Lair"... "Lone Wolf Lair?" has a nice ring to it! LOL! Congrats on the Toy... Hauler! Have a great 4th!
What a smart choice! We have anxiously awaited the big reveal and we are officially impressed! This is so exciting and oh, the possibilities! Tarp to create a shade "porch" or as needed! Fantastic Luke and Susie!
Enjoy! Can't wait to see future episodes!
p.s. that was quite a storm but you were nice and cozy...
I am so envy for those rains, storms. You are very lucky to live there. Here there is 40 celsius degree and have not rained the last 4 weeks. In this whole year we barely got any rain, maybe 3-4 times, and only one last longer than couple of minutes. There is serious drought here, in central Europe.
I get it! We live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Rain, what’s rain! We have had one drought after another not to mention wild fires. But I love it here, I really do. Let it rain!
ROLLING THUNDER "".. POURING RAIN. THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT GREAT VIDEO BROTHER LOVE THAT SUNSET.... SEMPER FI.
Oh come on I grew up driving tow trucks nothing like a good challenging tow truck run especially in the Mountains!!!! That would be fun in my eyes!!!! You are a very blessed dude
Be sure to get tire covers to prevent them from premature UV rot. Seems to happen a lot faster on trailer tires than normal vehicle tires.
Amen to that! The sun is so rough on everthing. 3M makes a good rubber protectant that would be good to use in conjunction with the tire covers and on all of your door and window weather stripping.
Great video as always. Love the cabin. Are you going to install a toilet and shower or an outdoor one? I think something like that would be perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Keep the great videos coming.
Great storm!!! It'll be fun making your cabin cozy!!! Happy Trails!!!🌲💛🌲
Luke truly enjoyed this episode with your new cabin on Lone Wolf Mountain. It was good you had your cabin during that storm! I’m sure your tarp and tent would’ve had some issues with those winds. Looking forward to seeing the upgrades to the your cabin. We bought a couples RV in June 2020 (29ft) and I can say it was one of the best purchases we’ve made! They are not as well built as your cabin but by thinking ahead on the normal wear and tear you can prevent a lot of major issues.
Hey Luke, congratulations to you and Suzie on “The Wolf Den”. It’s awesome! Great shelter for you guys and a nice backup. ! I’m looking forward to your improvements and future overnighters. Happy 4th of July💥🇺🇸💥S&H my friend…
I like Wolf Den.
I think you just named it!
As soon as Luke mentioned needing a nickname, "the den" came to my mind immediately. I agree that I can't imagine a better name for the cabin. It just fits with the way Luke talks, addresses his viewers, and speaks about his channel.
I was thinking The Wolf Den also
How could you call it anything else?
Nice trailer Luke! How about the name, "Tommy" (the trailer)? I still think an inter-model container would be good for a cabin or a shed, but wouldn't have the advantage of taking it on the road.
Love these heavy weather downpours!!!!
I love it when it rains, it's so beautiful. Excellent video as usual. As Always, Be Smart and Stay Safe.
Great cabin! Predicting many memories will be made. Question, is it tied down? Will you be covering the tires or skirting your cabin?
Tie-downs are a good thought if Lone Wolf Mountain is in a high wind/swirling wind area.
A concrete pier with a trailer hitch ball on it is a good solution to theft and high winds.
Question: Do the rear doors have a release on them from inside? Anything to prevent someone from locking you inside?
I can tell you no, the back door doesn't. It has the same latch as most big truck trailers. But the front door does.
Ugh I have a camping 🏕 trip in 2 weeks and you just made my day thanks 🙏 I’m so stoked now can’t wait to go outdoors again!
Luke , one tip on backing trailers. Start with your hands ant the bottom of the steering wheel and use your mirrors for the majority of the backing up. It just takes a little practice. You’l get the hang of it. When looking in the mirror turn the wheel from the bottom the opposite way you want the trailer to go.
