This gentleman was once the most powerful human being on the planet, capable of doing basically anything he wanted, and still remained so humble and nice. Great man.
He held a powerful office, but he was a feeble man in the saddle, unable to run it.
I think Brezhnev was equal if not more powerful during Carter’s presidency
Leave politics alone not for Christians
Selling oneself for a vote!
@@broadstreet21 The evil corporatist war mongers that took over after him have been far worse.
@@broadstreet21he was too nice that if there was war he would not do well
You’d never think he was the president, amazing
Jimmy Carter is an example of a true Christian. A man of honesty and integrity. Oh how our country needs a leader like Jimmy Carter.
so true. Sometimes, you see one's true character after he leaves the office.
As a Carter Center volunteer during my graduate schools days in the early 1990s, I made two trips to Plains. In those days, people didn't have to sleep in their cars or need tickets for their seats. I happened to sit directly behind Mrs. Carter for the service. Afterwards, President Carter joined about 15 of us for his Sunday School sermon in one of the church's classrooms. He stood the whole time, just several feet from me, and, as he does in this video, talked about Paul! Then The Carters posed for photos outside, with the Secret Service in the distant background, smiling for the cameras. That day was one of many fantastic experiences I was privileged to enjoy with The Carters and The Carter Center.
Jimmy Carter is one of the only politicians who makes feel uplifted and proud to be American.
Make America Proud Again!
I'm glad. More people say that about his successor, but glad Carter has positive influence on some.
And Reagan!! Both men were good!!
@@tuckerfrd1 MAPA instead of MAGA!
@@tapiokatajisto9566 - Regrettably pride in America is nearly impossible now. Carter and his ideal was possible because he was in the last gen which believed in it. We (rational, thinkers) all know "The Emperor has no clothes" for this to be possible. 2006 is when I could no longer stand up during the anthem and can no longer be "proud" due to ALL the hypocrisies.
This is a gent who has never forgotten and abandoned the common man, domestically and abroad.
Great man and humanitarian that we should all strive to follow. So humble and unassuming but a force for good. My mom who was a Georgia native loved President Carter and was proud to be in the group of those from Georgia. I always believed that his presidency was one that should have set the tone of how a president conducts himself. Yes, he was beset by problems beyond his control, just kept getting hit from all sides, but he never lost his cool, remained dignified and humble. His honesty and integrity was the best of traits, but, our society couldn't handle it nor were we ready for one such as him. Humbleness at it's best.
I have always admired Jimmy Carter since I first met him when he came to my high school in 1973 as governor...one of the best memories of my life was staying up all night with my Dad on election night 1976 to see if Carter would win (I didn't even have to go to school the next day...first and only time). A man of integrity and honesty...things that partisans on any side don't seem to like. God bless President and Mrs. Carter.
cool memory!! :D
Admired for what? Were you alive during 15% inflation and 15% interest rates ? All caused by bad decisions by him.
He only carried Georgia. Worst defeat in an election.
Talk to his staff . Both he and wife were literally hated by the staff.
@@patrickwelch3274 that was not caused by his policies at all however the 3 trillion dollar debt we had at the end of the 80s was caused by reagan along with the savings and loan crisis which collapsed because reagan deregulated it along with tens of thousands of aids deaths while reagan did nothing and iran contra but people loved him
@@patrickwelch3274 He said he was in high school in 1973, so yes he was alive to see the 15% inflation and interest rates. He also carried Minnesota, DC, and a few other states in 1980 - not the worst defeat in an election. He was hated by his staff?
I will agree though, Carter was not a great president - but to little fault of his own. He was governing during a time of extreme crisis that he didn't cause, but he just couldn't fix it.
Reagan exploited Jimmy’s humanity. Had we known Reagan was not what he claimed, I think most Americans would have voted Carter in 1980. Even with his Cabinet member getting in trouble, Jimmy ran one of the cleaner Administrations and was one of our few Presidents who did not get troops killed overseas in foolish oil wars or resource based wars.
God Bless Jimmy Carter. Humble and kind to all. One who knows Father so well.
God bless Jimmy Carter!
Beautiful! Praise God that Mr. Carter is still teaching Sunday School lessons.
I respect this man so much. He is what every man should aspire to be.
One of the greatest, best U.S. presidents ever. A man of love and thought
Definitely in the top 45.
Among our finest American Statesmen and Stateswomen.
@@timmyp34 By 1984, he was likely 40th out of 40 for most people - not to his fault though. He was a good man, but in office at the wrong place and wrong time. Had he taken office in 1992, he'd do better.
He was a great president and ahead of his time. Wish him the best!
Happy 99th Birthday to a true human being, a global example of service and compassion, Perhaps your longevity is God's blessing upon you and a sign to us of what a good, humble life in the service of humanity looks like!
“Forgiveness, compassion and the alleviation of suffering.”
Very good story. God bless you Jimmy in our final days. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." You are a true representation of Christ here on earth.
I'm an atheist, and I'd loved to go to one of his Sunday school meeting.
Hello and set the GPS for Plains, GA. USA Brother! Welcome aboard!
He would tell you..You can go to the Lord where your standing and ask him into your heart..Jimmy Carter is not Jesus Christ. He gives a message and he is only the messenger. There is one greater than all and that is JC....Jesus Christ.
@@VanillaRain2012 agreed. But I think the gentleman is just talking about going to a Sunday School Class not seeing Jimmy Carter as Jesus Christ?
I was thinking that too. All the way from London UK. A truly remarkable man.
@@TheTim59 - Mr Carter has been my favorite President since the 1970's. He wasn't a cool Pres. like Clinton or Obama, but he is more principled and just a quiet, simple good man.
many tears will fall at his passing
Very very true.
I don't want to think about it :/
THE most amazing PRESENTATION the USA has EVER had! Hands DOWN!
Bless you Jimmy
I have been there twice - very valued experiences. He’s my hero and will be for as long as I live. ❤️
His under secretary at the end. God, people just love Carter. What a nice man.
I have always wanted to meet Pres. Carter, he is a man of faith!!
The human rights president... Thank you for promoting human rights around the world
God bless Carter! Amen
My wife attended Carter's Sunday School. Made a major impression. Her favorite poet is Dylan Thomas. Carter was critical in getting Thomas into Poets' Corner at Westminster.
Beautiful!
Bless his heart. Boiled peanuts, foodie, compassion, alleviation of suffering and to suffer from cancer may he beat it.
I want to attend! Love this great American! My favorite president, next to FDR.
I am not american yet i am full of pride!jimmy carter is a great man who inspires others...he serves his country
I have a relative who was stationed in Georgia with her Marine hubby. They attended his Sunday School!!!!
Gif continue to bless you!!
That would be God! Geesh!!
Almighty God bless you and your family members 💕
What an absolutely beautiful human being. God bless jimmy carter.
Jimmy Carter politically was a weak president. His term was an era of weakness for America.
Now Jimmy Carter as a person is the strongest example of a great American.
I had the privilege of meeting Jimmy and Ms. Carter outside of their church when I was in my late 20s. I got a picture by him, I got a picture by her and then I got a picture of them by theirselves. Wonderful Christian folks!!
Great man!! Love the Carters! We need a lot more like these two. May God bless them.
Amazing president
He wasn’t a good President but he a good guy
@@Jaydog11 He was actually a pretty good president tbh.
@@alalakjakaja5793 nope

God bless Mr Carter and his family.
He's a real Christian and a decent person.
I love this guy,my beloved, and his wife is a nice woman in my heart
It's a wonderful thing to know that a leader had such strong faith in God. Our country and such many others are struggling to survive financially and physically. I know we r so multireligiously cultural but our present leaders all through this pandemic. Have not spoken much about god. Please hear me out know your god and keep your faith always!!!!
I simply love this wonderful man. May he live forever!
Jimmy Carter a President for the People approved by our Father.
God Bless that WONDERFUL MAN
My dream is to go there! Hope he´s doing fine for the next few years!
I came and slept in the car to be able to see Carter. The church has done such a wonderful job.
Just fyi. Mr and a person’s first name is how you show respect to elders but also a bit of familiarity. A female would be Miss and first name
I’m so touched..
He will always be one of my ultimate favourite presidents of all-time ❤
I'd love to meet this man one day. He reminds me so much of my Father! God be with him! 🙏🙏
What a remarkable man and president. We are lucky to have had him all these years. God bless President and Mrs. Carter.
Jimmy Carter, the Pride of America.
GOD BLESS YOU
A great man with morals and respect. I felt so bad that he didnt recognize one of his own cabinet members.
@Pius X still very high up! he should've known him!
My bf and I went to see President Carter teach Sunday School this past Sunday. The experience is one I will never forget. We even got a photo with him and Mrs. Carter. Go if you get the chance.
Congrats
I understand some folks arrive hours early to get a seat. How long did y'all have to wait in line? Hoping to attend January 20.
I'm going too!
A GREAT MAN.🕊🇺🇲💕
I want to join his Sunday School classes. He is a great man in humility. Jesus must be happy to have him in heaven. Love and prayers from Nagaland, India.
Truly an Amazing and Wonderful Man
please get me tickets to his Sunday school class, please God
If you make plans to show up good and early at the church you can get the tickets in person.
Glad to have gone to hear President Carter today. My opinion is that it is a very worthwhile thing to do since he might not be doing this for too much longer. The church (Maranatha Baptist) does an excellent job of facilitating this each Sunday that he's available. The Carters are gracious enough with their time to sit for pictures with each guest. Fortunate that I live so close but there were people from multiple states and countries in attendance. Go early!
He’s no slacker. A tough man, but an empathetic and kind man
Jimmy Carter is a true Christian ✝️ and when leaves us he will go to heaven 🙏 and sit with God
Awesome!
Who else remembers when America really was great? We led the world. And now....
I love his turquoise stone necktie, too. Looking sharp and bright, Mr Carter!
Shoutouts to Matt Tory, the biggest Carter fan I know
What a great ,great man
How I love this man. The last truly noble president that we've had. He is the best of us.
I love President Carter’s heart.
I was at Carter's Congregation a week ago, the day before President's Day, 2019. Even though Reagan is my favorite, I stilll think he is great, kind, and humble.
Truly remarkable man.
Top tourist destination for rural retreats
What a GREAT American! He should be on a monument.
Just a good person and inspiring.
When ever I think of President Carter I think that why can't every president have a little bit of him inside.
Most personable person to be president.
Best Secretary of State we never had
He is the definition of a saint...
My favorite Prez.Jimmy was the most ethical president period.A real southern gentleman.
Still going strong!
The only president who truly cared for his country and not for the corporations.
I can't think of any person who is so selfless as he is.
My friend went there from Pennsylvania
The Lord will swing those gates open wide one day and say "welcome..well done my good and faithful servant"🙏
The first president I voted for.
Thanksgiving , All church goers visitors have advanced adventure, being in the photos of President Jimmy Carter and Rosa, Carter Center classic!
Jimmy Carter is proof an excellent man can only make a good president.
All of you guys knew that he was running a Sunday school, yet he's my great great uncle and I didn't know...... 😞 Where have I been?!
It’s sad that these are over
Eternos!!!
I am from Gainesville Florida , I want to drive to Plains on Sunday to meet Jimmy
Everyone is from the South, that went to see him
It has a similar likeliness to southern Australia. Especially the downtown buildings.

It seems as the US instead of progressing with its presidents it is rather deteriorating
Aquilesquev 29 not really. Every president has its strong and weak points. Even Obama and trump. Clinton was a great President, Reagan was also a great President
@@JD-dh3yn Well I respect your opinion, but I cannot see the strong points with Trump..
