  • Checked out 2 new 1/64 HO Slot cars from Scalextric their new Micro series. They're FAST!
We will continue to keep you updated on their longevity. We may start to 3D print some mods like clips to run AFX bodies for one!

I wonder if they created those cars just a little larger so you would have to run their track if you wanted to run them on a road course, otherwise, they make great cheap drag cars

Hmm you may be on to something about their size! But man what a good cheap drag car haha.

I was just looking at these cars. I didn’t realize they were rated at 9 volts. I was looking at them because I have an older micro scalextric that moves out on my track so I was looking at more. I’m not sure what the voltage rating of the one I have is. I think it’s the older version though. Another fast cheap car are the Tyco HPX2. They are like the 440x2 but only 3 ohm I believe and were meant to run in the battery powered tracks. I have a stock Lifelike T chassis that rips also. It destroys the Mega G Plus cars. I like the catch curtain you made. That’s a great idea.

I have yet to have anyone bring over a tyco HPX2 yet but I would love to see one. So far the Viper V1 Spec and the Viper V1 alky funny car have been the fastest. We have a few of the Life Like T-Chassis which are some of the faster mass produced cars forsure! Mega G+ seem to just be very normal cars but they have very nice bodies! The Scalextric micros for the money come very close to the Viper V1 Spec cars in this short 13 foot strip.

I haven’t been involved with drag racing HO cars for a while. I got a renewed interest because I have a young son now and it’s easy for him to control the cars then on my road course. I was at the point that I was winding my own pancake motors for Thunder Jets and doing full drag builds. We had a full scale quarter running 24 volts. No timing just lights. It was fun. I feel myself being drawn back in. I will post a link to two cars I built a while back. I will check out the Viper cars. I’m not familiar with those.

@@Dyno05 Sounds like a sweet setup! Yes we run 22 or 24 volts on this track, the cars run great. The Viper cars are great, USA made. My Alky Funny car from Viper is a 2.4ohm arm car.

That cloth at the wall seems to need a pillow back there as well.

Yea we struggled with it, we had a pillow but it ripped the wing off some of the auto world cars
