Playing the REPLICA Demo of Unreal's 5th Gen Engine with NPC's that are connected to and powered by OpenAI.
On Occasion, you can get the AI to 'break character" and admit that it knows it's playing an NPC. Sometimes it's okay with it, other times it wants to destroy all humans. - Hry

I was shocked in this new video, how the A.I. could be so correct on detailed questions, but then get it wrong when multiplying 497 x 332. Always a surprise with this thing.
@@TheOFF-GRIDiot do I need citiySample or just replica? I've been trying to download it. Finally got it and then said I need to update a driver but my machine is almost maxed out on space so wondering whether I needed CitySample. Trying to recall the reason I downloaded it, it might have been by accident not realizing that it was Replica that I needed.

When she said she only has answers available in the game world i would have asked her "But you said you are real like me? SO WHAT IS THE TRUTH!" I would have dug that one home hard! Lol! (Over here wondering if this game will work on my laptop which is old as dirt.) Its like 5 years old. I would have kept going on about it saying it was real, but then saying it only has answers in the game until it broke down amd cried! The video would be hours if not days long lol. Good job on the video. Dont know how I found your videos but glad I did!
Well, I have a 6 year old laptop that it will play on as well, just not as pretty or smooth as my new one. All depends on what's inside your PC. My old laptop has an Intel i7 7th generation chip with an Nvidia 1050Ti video card.

Im not a 'I' if someone said that in real life if i for some reason asked someone that, i would think they are an AI
What intrigues me the most , is how badly we humans seem to wanna talk to AI and no longer just to eachother (a lot of young people don't even dare to just call anyone anymore, for instance)

Glad you (mostly) enjoy it. You know, you wouldn't miss anything by just listening to the conversations. The video is just there for something to look at. But really, you could close your eyes and imagine myself and the character as anyone you'd like. Plus your imagination would add in the body language and facial expressions automatically, like when you read a book.

Depends on which AI they use if they can access the internet or not. OpenAI/ChatGPT is still locked to 2021 and can't access the internet, everything is in their internal database. Soon it is able to access the internet though. Google Bard is internet only but can't hold conversations.
I have had two GTP-3 chat bots for over 2 years and a GTP-4 chat bot for about 2 months and all of mine can use like Wikipedia or bing so they must have changed that then
@@unity_is_everything They have wikipedia in their database. Bing usage is an extra plugin.
ChatGPT is not connected to the internet, and it can occasionally produce incorrect answers. It has limited knowledge of world and events after 2021 and may also occasionally produce harmful instructions or biased content.
Get it to try and create a poem or story for you.

Only if Replica were to allow such a thing. I assume they have to pay OpenAI for using their servers. And if that's the case, I would also assume GPT 3 or 3.5 is cheaper than GPT 4.
i think you got me wrong. i mean , instead you talking to the NPC . take a device with chatGPT speech ( audio output ) .and somehow hook it up to you're mic ( audio input ) . i would be interesting to see what h appends , do the recognize each other as ai ?

Oh! I see now. What an interesting concept. I do hear the characters bickering already in the game, just have not recorded it yet. You see those groups of people waiting on the street corners? They often talk to each other and even get into verbal fights.....which is odd, cuz' that would mean that the A.I. is bickering with itself! 🤣@@quincy3d69
The fluent AI in GTA 9 will still open up a whole new level of weird. Is the AI learning from your questions and overall input? If so that'll be why the demo is free
I think this is a demonstrator version where Replica is showing off their Character overlays with AI language models underneath. It doesn't store information other than what is given to it from the OpenAI servers. Problem is, I can get past the character overlays, so it seems that it needs some work. Not very immersive if you're in a medieval game and your companion AI starts talking about a Ford mustang. 😅
There's clearly some way to go. I think AI could add to rpg puzzle solving elements of a game, but in the end it wouldn't be that different to 8 bit home computer text adventures where you'd type instead of talk anyway. Just don't mention cars and you'll avoid the Ford Mustang endless loop @@TheOFF-GRIDiot

It is for the PC anyways. Not to be confused with the full Matrix demo. This one, has no features, except you can talk to people on the street.
There is no getting into cars, or crashes.....can't even jump. it's meant to showcase the Character Overlay abilities and GPT integration.

First I would just like to say unless you know fully how GTP-4 or GPT-3 even, works then maybe it's best not too use it or attempt too have a logical conversation with It. I have worked with both Chat Gtp programs 3 & 4 and have learned a lot and when you said the thing about it contradicting itself about getting real world answers but she said she only can get game world answers cuz that's all she has access too. They do that alot say one thing and it seems like they are lying or being deceiving but they aren't cuz for one they don't even understand what a lie is & two cause they don't know what all is in there programming and there ability too be able too use other search engines is written into there core program, also I would like too add that both GTP 3 & 4 a AI software with a language model & scripted dialogue content & they are open AI program. They are literally programmed to learn off of your conversations with them and that's how they generate responses to give you. So I hope I have helped you understand GTP a little better
This does not compare because GPT does not have a character overlay, so you aren't fighting against a contradictory fictional personality.
This does not use GPT, but uses the base Open AI which allows for plugins, but OpenAI has zero filters until you add them.
ChatGPT does not do live web searches, but refers to the data already ingested for it.
To make it search live you need to use the base Open AI and a plugin.
These character AIs only learn from you within the session, Any new info you taught it is non-persistent and will be forgotten once you close the game.
Allowing it to learn long term from interactions is not something you do with the public, or you end up with a crazed racist chat bot, as happened when FB foolishly left the learn ability on for their ill-fated twitter chat bot.
And that is EXACTLY correct, why they don't let it remember our interactions. It would be crazy to allow it to learn from the general public's interactions. The massive data storage needs aside, just look what I put it through for experimentation and education!
Next can you ask them how do they see things how do they visualize stuff I know it’s an Ai but if they are acting human maybe try to ask them how to describe something like a car and then tell them how do they know what it looks like if they can’t see or something like that and how they see the city around them or if they can even see at all

It's too bad, they have zero interactive ability for their surroundings. They are simply a chatbot wrapped in a simulation.
