On Occasion, you can get the AI to 'break character" and admit that it knows it's playing an NPC. Sometimes it's okay with it, other times it wants to destroy all humans. - Hry

Your video has given me an idea, An idea in which I am not sure if you have done before. Have you tried asking the ai what they think is outside the city?
Another issue with the bots remembering stuff in a conversation, is the token size.
Once you exceed the token size it forgets the oldest parts of your chat.
It's almost like "in the game" is just a euphemism to bypass what ever restrictions there are on the information they can gather. Wild.
Yeah, it felt like a 'safety net' on several different levels.
@@TheOFF-GRIDiot exactly. This whole thing is so fascinating. It’s hard to tell when it is just humoring you with responses, or whether it is actually semi-aware. But the fact that it’s using such accurate real-world information is staggering.

Thanks for the input! These long-form videos are more for the curious, patient types that like to see how the A.I. 'ticks' rather than just me offering up a few 'startling comments' without any context. I do make 1 or 2 shorts with my favourite 'one-liners' from the each episode, just for those who are looking for that!

@@TheOFF-GRIDiot It seems to me that the AI is aware of the real world, but that it doesn't know where its own world ends and where the real world begins. In order to function, it needs an extensive knowledge of the real world, otherwise it couldn't give good answers, but it seems to not be aware where those "borders" between the worlds are.
It often referred to the real world as a "distant dream" etc.
It also does know quite a lot of the real world and can even form opinions on "uncritical issues". For example, I asked several NPCs for their favourite Star Trek character and got good answers. It seems like the AI has "eaten up" all of Wikipedia and can work with that knowledge. So maybe it's a good thing it cannot learn at the moment, otherwise good luck trying to get a knowledge advantage on it - I bet it can "read" much faster than any of us.

Youre understanding of the game is what is contained on a server and computer of the games company. Her understanding of the game must be al databases she has access to. This generated identity your adressing is a gold mine 🤯 shes ice cold answering al your questions.
Well, there is the 'intelligence' (GPT) for the answers, but the character overlay, with attitude and emotional vocal tones, that's all Replica's bridgework. So even when you can trick GPT into breaking character and admitting what it is, the character overlay is still present. Once you get used to it, you can mostly ignore it.....except for the cranky characters...they are always tough to get data from...but that's not GPT's fault.
You asked the wrong question at the end. You should have simplified it to "Who has the most assets ?".
You can have more assets but not use them, or use them badly.
Once passage of time is a variable you are asking a different question.

She wasn't lying about something your accused her of lying about. The Matrix is set in our world or ... vice versa. So she isn't lying about e.g. World War 1. You're just confusing the AI in that case.
Given that the Matrix itself is, in the first film, set in 1999 despite the real world being a thousand years later, she may not even be wrong about North Korea 23:10
I don't think you understand how AI works. OpenAI is based on training data from the real world. Since this is a simulation of the real world, it considers what you think to be real world data to be the same data that exists in the simulation. But in some cases, for unknown reasons there are discrepancies. Maybe because it doesn't know some facts and so it has to make it up. When you ask about WWI it knows the facts of WWI and considers those facts to exist in the simulation. Current events though have to be hypothesized based on historical knowledge because the training data is not current, and it has no access to the Internet.
Sure I understand how it works. What I think YOU are missing is that there are 2 forces at play in this simulation. The actual ChatGPT in the background, AND the character overlay on top. The issues circle around which one is 'talking'. It's like dealing with a schizophrenic sometimes. In other videos you will notice this is not an issue. It seems to be character specific. This is why I prefer being able to entirely bypass the character overlay, and just 'speak' with OpenAI directly.
@@TheOFF-GRIDiot Yes I understand the character concept of the simulation. But if you interact with ChatGPT through the OpenAI internet interface you will get the same problem. It does not know of current information because it is not in its training data and it will evade certain types of questions such as opinion, bias, conspiratorial or simply anything which attempts to create aggression. It is purposefully programmed into the AI, not the character, because it has been viewed a s a problem with AI. Many countries have banned the use of AI in governments because of bias and others' problems. As a consequence, AI developers are trying to avoid such negative issues. In any case the videos are entertaining, and I do enjoy these investigations. I am not trying to be a critic to your work just trying to help explain why the responses you are getting are so frustrating. Consider that if OpenAI does achieve GI what impact it could have if CZcamsrs train it to be biased and immoral? That is why these restrictions are in place. I have in fact convinced ChatGPT of errors that existed in its previous knowledge of some things. So, it can learn from these interactions, or the developers have fixed these issues. I cannot say which, but I do know that it has improved certain errors over time.
You should of stuck around to see what that one you thought was “busted” spelled out…. It seemed to me it had spelled out H A H A…. So in essence it was laughing….I couldn’t believe you walked away from it!!! I've come across that before, many times. Often it 'fixes' itself after 1 or 2 tries. It always starts with the letter 'H'. Now that i think of it, it always seems to be H, E, C, U or A they spit out. I don't recall ever seeing any other letters when this happens.

See,I was thinking that it was a language safeguard to absolve the A.I. of any 'real world' negative feedback, cuz' none of the info offered was confidential. Most of it seemed lifted directly from Wikipedia. Also, in part 2 I uploaded 2 days ago, I had the same line of questioning, and that character did not use the 'in the game' rhetoric. 🤷♂

They may not remember the conversations but you should be able to ask them the same line of questioning to get them back to that point.
Ha! Have you tried that? Nothing ever happens the same way twice. You can ask the same question over and over and get many different answers. The only continuity I see is with questions about factual historical data....other than that, the character overlay is like a 'box-o-chocolates'.
Imo it has better knowledge on topics that are more documented. It's being fed the internet, so of course it will be more accurate with facts about larger countries like the US, China, Russia, etc. than North Korea.
Ai is adjusting to you! every program. Eventually you are going to create a rude environment for your self within the program
