I think one of the major differences in this scenario, besides the obvious one that Hiccup now rides a Lightfury, is the bond between Hiccup and his dragon. Toothless and Hiccup were both males and were the same age as one another, which was why they got along so well(according to Valka). The Lightfury(Luna) is a female and we don't know her age. So, let's assume that she's also the same age as Hiccup. Both would get along very well with each other, but would have the occasional disagreements. Not to mention, Lightfuries(by nature) are more cautious than most dragons. No doubt it would take Hiccup a little longer to earn her trust, but would still be able to do so. Once he earned the Lightfury's trust, I think she would become like a mother figure to Hiccup. She would be very protective of him and would most likely not trust the people of Berk right away. After living among them for a little while(after defeating the Red Death ofc), she would have warmed up and began to trust them by then.
Yes, the events of the first movie would happen similarly to the original. On the other hand, the Book of Dragons would actually have a more detailed description of the Lightfury. The Lightfury is all white and would be easy to spot by human eyes, until she cloaked herself by flying through her own "Plasma Blast". It's unknown how long this camouflage lasts or if they can still fire a plasma blast while camouflaged. But, it would be a risk for the Lightfury to use this ability because it costs her a shot at taking out human defenses. However, Kind of like the Changewing, there wouldn't be a picture of the Lightfury in the Book of Dragons because of her ability to Cloak herself. Still, no doubt that things would've happened very similarly to the original. The same could be said about the second movie. The third movie's plot would be a little different.

@@thatwyverncritic Another thing I'd like to add is the TV franchise that takes place between the first and second movies. Dragons: Rider of Berk, Defenders of Berk and Race to the Edge, no doubt would have some major differences regarding certain episodes.
For example: The absence of Toothless's rival. Toothless had a Whispering Death rival that came and attacked him. The Nightfury would refuse to let Hiccup ride him because he believed it was his fight alone and wanted to protect Hiccup. Since the scenario is that Hiccup would have the Lightfury now, the episode would not exist or be significantly changed depending on if the Lightfury has a rival and it could be any kind of dragon. No doubt, like Toothless, she wouldn't want Hiccup involved in the fight to protect him. She would also, be more violent in her fight against her rival and would attack with much ferocity. Considering the fact that the Lightfury would've taken on a motherly role in her relationship with Hiccup, the Lightfury would've done everything she possibly could to keep him safe. No doubt, that the Lightfury wouldn't care if she was hurting another dragon because her main priority would be to protect Hiccup. The episode would either end the way it did in the original, with Hiccup doing a trust fall and the Lightfury would save him and Hiccup would help her to fly, or the episode would end with the Lightfury driving off her rival all by herself by inflicting enough pain on the opposing dragon to make it retreat.
Another example: The "We Are Family" two part episode where Alvin ambushes and kidnaps Hiccup to force him to train dragons would also be very different. The Lightfury isn't the last of her kind, however, Lightfuries tend to be more elusive and hard to track down. It could be the case that everyone on Berk believes that Nightfuries are extinct, but Mildew and Alvin trick Hiccup into thinking that there's an island filled with living Nightfuries and make the fake Nightfury statue. It's also just as likely that they could trick Hiccup into thinking there's and island filled with Lightfuries too and attempt to make a fake one.
I could go on, but battle techniques would have to be adjusted because of the risky camouflage ability and Hiccup(being the inventive person that he is) would have to craft a suit of dragon scale armor early in order to be able to camouflage along with the Lightfury.
I think the quote for the light fury could be something like "As pale as death itself." because white faces can mean death... I think?

In my opinion, I feel like toothless would have never existed considering the most likely reason why the night fury killer never found Toothless is probably because he was with Hiccup the whole time. Berk isn't exactly popular or very well known at all. With that being said, I feel it's more likely that Night Fury's would in fact have gone extinct, and instead Hiccup finds out about the other two light furies that could be seen in the background of The Hidden World multiple times, and decided it would be best if he let the light fury stay in the hidden world after they come too close to losing what's most likely the last female light fury. Then the scene in the end where Hiccup visits them in the future can play, only there's no toothless or nightlights, and instead he discovers that the light fury had made a family of her own, only it would probably be larger considering how long it had been since Hiccup had last seen her, and the reason why Toothless would have had less children in that same time span most likely could be due to them being different species, thus making it harder to reproduce. But that's just my take on it :]

What if Astrid was Light Fury instead of Stormfly, Hiccup though would still have Toothless

I'm here to ruin your day bc I found a plot hole >:] in the video when toothless and the lightfury meet they don't ever go to the hidden world so hiccup wouldn't know it even existed unlike the film and who's to say toothless even knew where it was? Toothless and the lightfury also had no time to bond so it wouldn't make sense if the lightfury choose to go she barely knows this random nightfury- cause in the films not only did hiccup realize that there will always be dargon hunters he realized that toothless was happier with the lightfury. But the lightfury here never went to the hidden world or bonded with toothless at all, so she wouldn't even know where it is. Cool, what if tho.
True and mb on that one lol, i'd like to think even though she was shot down by hiccup and she was approximately 15 in the first film. She already knew where the hidden world was because she is actually from the hidden world and was later captured by the dragon hunters in httyd 3 (due to her having her family live there and confirmed by several httyd news outlets and books) but for the second point thats very true

What if there was a female night fury instead of a light fury

For the second movie, I disagree. Yes, Toothless became alpha by chance by 'summoning his powers', but who knows if the Lightfury would really be able to do that? This might sound sexist, but we don't know if female dragons can become alphas, which depends on if the bewilderbeast's are female, and if they aren't that further proves my point. I can explain this theory btw: Females take the most care over their hatchlings and watch them constantly, so I believe that in their Hierarchy, it would be unreasonable for a mother/female to become an alpha. Also, I'm pretty sure the reason Toothless is an alpha is because he's(maybe)the last of his kind and an extremely rare species, therefore becoming an alpha. It is also possible that there can be multiple alphas, seeing how there were two bewilderbeast alphas at the same time. So, this could mean that the fewer of one species there are, the higher chance THEY have of becoming an alpha. It can be seen in the 3rd movie that there are multiple Lightfury's, some male (Which I think gives them a more likely chance of being an alpha), meaning that there's a much lower chance that the Lightfury SPECIFICALLY becomes the alpha. Now, I'm not sure if you're going off of the plot or statistics, but if it's statistics, there may be a low chance that the Lightfury (presumably named Luna) becomes the alpha. If she didn't summon her alpha powers when a piece of ice was shot on Hiccup, there's a high chance that they do not survive. Of course, they could always get other dragon's help to maybe melt the ice.
Onto the third movie's problems. Even if they did survive that ice blast (if she's not alpha) then that would GREATLY affect the plot of the third movie. Luna would no longer have a bounty on her head, making Gremmel have no need to capture her. Even if the Nightfury(we'll just call him Toothless for now) was not captured before Hiccup and his crew got there, who knows if Gremmel would take Luna with him to control the rest of the dragons? It would likely be Gremmel throws away, or maybe even kills, Luna and takes Toothless, leaving them hopeless. If Gremmel got to Toothless before Hiccup, then Luna would have less of a chance to save Toothless. Why? Because Toothless(In the original versions) was only able to save Luna because he was also captured, and the alpha of all of those dragons. He was able to control/tell them to force their way out, or to calm down when needed. Not to mention, there's no guarantee that Luna would want Toothless when they meet. As somebody else mentioned, Luna would likely take on a motherly role with Hiccup, and in that case, would she really just leave Hiccup? A greater bond would lead to less of a chance of her leaving, therefore Hiccup would never make her a free tail, she would never feel the need to save Toothless, and dragons would never go to the Hidden World.
Also, let's just pretend for a moment that the Nightfury is what berk knows about. In the 1st and 3rd movie, it is shown that Lightfury's probably rarely or NEVER leave the hidden world. This is shown because in the Book of Dragons, NOWHERE does it ever mention Lightfury's. This means they likely have never seen one, because they don't go towards there. This may change the way that Hiccup and Berk sees Luna. Seeing how they would have no idea what she is, they may kill her for safety reasons, much like what they wanted to do with Toothless, but couldn't. This paragraph is all theoretical, and much different from how you had it in the video, as you had her basically replace Toothless.
P.S. Don't come after me if any of this is wrong, or unrealistic. This is all based off of my opinion, and what I have understood from the movies. If you have any suggestions, or counterarguments, please just tell me. I would love to maybe discuss it with you. My opinion in this may change, so don't be surprised if I randomly reply to my video saying something was wrong.

No shot down the Light Fury would have been worse. The reason why it could be worse because if the Light Fury had a tail flat missing then The offspring would have a tail flat missing as well.
That's incorrect. There was a scientist who conducted an experiment on this using rats. He cut the tails off the rats to see if the offspring would come out tailless, but the offspring ended up having tails. The scientist repeated the experiment only to get the same result. The offspring of the tailless rats were born with tails. This means that missing limbs, or(in the Lightfury's case) missing tailfins, don't have any effect on genetics. Lightfury's offspring will be born with fully functional tails regardless if she was missing a tailfin or not. Both Toothless and the Lightfury were born with fully functional tails, meaning this is the gene that will be passed down to the offspring. Even if either one is missing a tailfin, it won't have any effect on the genes and the offspring will have fully functional tails when they are born. This is basic genetics.
