  • At the Columbia Museum of Art, we believe in the transformative power of art to inspire, heal, and uplift. Did you know that visiting an art museum provides measurable mental health benefits, helps visitors to view themselves as part of their community, and can decrease anxiety and depression? Through our Wellness and Accessibility programs, we strive to provide avenues for individuals to experience the therapeutic benefits of engaging with art.
Your donation on Midlands Gives Day will directly contribute to the expansion and continuation of these vital programs, which include:
    1. Art Workshops: Guided by professionals, these workshops provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore their creativity while connecting with others.
    2. Mindfulness and Meditation Sessions: Through mindful observation of art, accessible yoga, and guided meditation practices in the galleries, participants learn to cultivate inner peace, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being.
    3. Accessible Events and Tours: From touch tours for individuals with low vision, to discussions on the intersection of art and wellness, our diverse range of events aims to foster a holistic approach to health for our community.
Your support will enable us to reach more individuals in need, break down barriers to access, and continue offering these life-enriching programs free of charge or at a nominal fee.
Join us on Midlands Gives Day as we come together to invest in the health and wellness of our community through the power of art. Together, we can make a difference.
