- On this bushcraft trip I build a survival shelter with natural materials, I do a pork cook over open flames with a cast iron pan and also carve out a big spoon. I add a stone fireplace with a flat rock for cooking and enjoy my time outdoors in nature.
This video is the complete outdoor shelter build in one video. Thank you all for watching and the continued support.
Thank you all for watching my video.

No two Bushcraft people do exactly the same thing everyone has thier own techniques. I myself never take a live tree, I'm strictly with downfall on all my builds. Awesome area with alot of resources, that's the key. Awesome video
Almost finished watch your second video. You are the second guy I have watched without vocal. Love it, as you moved to each project, for instance, I said wouldn't be nice to have a chair to sit on. No sooner did I say this, you start making one. I was blown away. The same with the walls. This video has really left its mark. You bring out the creativity . Thanks man for the best two hours of stimulating my brain. Wouldn't this be fun to see and do with someone.I haven't been to Canada since the 90's. I might be overboard here, but at 65, there has to be a memory made. And what a memory it would be. Any way I have gotten a kick out of this. "Silence is Golden" Thanks. I just finished !!This is something else. I remember saying again to myself, he should build a wall by the hut. Then it happens. Its like I am reading your mind !!! The date here is 1/10/2020. Your to much, Wow
Great to see us over 60's getting out there, snd so msmy of us women. We didn't hv utube in the 70's or i woulda been doing this long ago and living the off grid freedom dream now!! Just love the outdoors and using tools, learned alot from the carpenter men in my family so can hardly wait for snow to b gone and then building and foraging in spring. Fiddleheads and milkweed pods and on and on eh people!! Woohoo! Any more people from Ontario out there?? 😉
A man of great resources and few, no words. That was great!
Yup , best day tent around. Beats a wall tent anyday 👌
I bought mine when I first saw Survival Russia set it up at his homestead. I have the Up-2 tent with 2 large cots , insulated floor and stove. All shipped door to door for $1500 from Siberia Russia. Its 11.5 feet across at bottom. Can't say enough about this 2 liner tent. Comes with so much on the inside.
Love it , Love it , Love it 👌👍👍👍👍 can be used as a sauna too 😄
any that Loves bacon? is my friend! ^5s well done brother!
Hey Ma, that hippie fellow is in the backyard again!
One thing cannot be denied - survival living is constant DOING! There is no farting around if you want to keep moving forward.
Your name is such an oxyMoron!
Spoken like a true grandpa, fartin' around is what mine said if I wasn't in the garage, in there's monkin' round
Jeden z moich ulubionych odcinków .Oglądam po raz trzeci
seems to relax indeed
I'd bring a bigger skillet next time👍
Really enjoyable to watch; calming to listen to nature. Thank you very much for sharing your experience👍
P.s. Did anyone else watch this on playback speed of 2x ??
Love it love is 2h am and cant sleep , when i see your vídeos is relaxing and sometimes i wish to do it somethink like this nature, craft, thank you so much
Considering how densely overgrown your location was, using the larger living stuff as you did likely helped more than hurt that environment. regardless, quality content!

He didn't LOVE you.
@@LouMontana-wc7nr Do I need him to?
Sorry I must have missed your comment. Thank you for the kind words it greatly appreciated. Only one live tree was used for the main support and everything else was dead
You have made your shelter so neat and loaded with amenities you could rent it out as a B&B! Really cool video to watch and enjoy - and fun to try and guess what you are making next. Hope there are many more to come.

Why? At one time not so long ago in the vast and long history of this earth, most all peoples lived similar to the ways you speak of. Why wait? Learn the old ways of your people that the old ones smile on you now.
Just saw this video today. Loved it. Great algonquin, love it in the north, im down in Barrie. Enjoyed the whole video, from spring to fall i assume. Really liked your chair making idea method very great idea!! Wow! I am going to b doing some bushcrafting camping this year up north muskoka etc and i just love that chair design. Gonna try it myself i am over 60 a young over 60 lol but the back needs that kinda support not just a log to sit on throughout the day/evening..so right on ✌ Surprising how many of us over 60's there are loving bushcrafting..they didn't hv utube when i was young or i would hv been at this making things outdoors along time ago. Better late then never right? Lol. Making new memories & my carpenter style family will b looking down on me from their chairs upstairs lol.. Kudos bud! Good job on the shelter and all your work, dinner looked yummy too(cottage roll) cut up? again love the chair..I've been trying to think of a chair build i didn't hv to backpack into the bush and high enough for my long legs and bad back. I hv to make a misquito/blackfly concoction to ward off those pesky bugs ur camera sure picked up their sounds on the mic eh Lol! Thx for the inspiration. Great job..looking forward to more videos!
Me gusto mucho tu video y para mi eres el mejor con diferencia gracias
muchas gracias aprecio eso
Quite a nice place you got there.
Poderia ter abatido menos árvores, mas ainda assim bom vídeo com ótimas dicas 👍
you do very well. good luck
at 1st I was like 2 hours 7 Min?? Now I wished it was 4 hours 7 min Nice video Yalls ^5s
I really appreciate you doing instead of talking. Didn't necessarily learn anything major but did pickup on a few details. Thanks.
Great dugout - good to see one built a practical size... 🔥
Thank you kindly :).
So beautiful 👍❤🙏❤❤
Good
The fire pit is nice, and just getting to the part where you're putting the finishing touches on the outside. very cool job, looks great, and should be a nice shelter over the winter and into next summer. cheers. Glenn * Maureen
I think its gonna be a great place to go and relax and enjoy the day, maybe have a few friends over and sit beside the fire.
Great build. I like the silent videos. I like some of the talking ones if they're actually saying something & teaching the viewer.
I also love Jim's channel and he is a great teacher. I recommend his channel highly.
nice shelter..
The shelter is a nice and effective design. 🇨🇦😊

Thanks for joining me and the kind words, i appreciate it :)
You're a man full of talent👌🏻
good job, watching the whole build in one sitting is cool. Thanks for sharing.
I must've blinked and missed why he boiled the sap. What did he use it for?
Good clip!
First things first. Why not use the big trees around you as you base. Love the big sound in the background.
SUPER VIDEO!!!
Thank you kindly :)
Very nice old little axe. Thanks for all the videos you share with us. Just subbed. - Marco
Amazing
learning about how you show it.
mantap👍
Great video bro. You have alot of different types of trees there. I don't have that much pine. I'm down here in Missouri.I have a lot of hard wood.
Thank you
👍❤️
The mosquitoes are causing flashbacks
Very nice build..I wonder what happens to your beautiful creation after you walk away?..imagine some one stumbles upon while hiking instant shelter... u should inscribe yr name.and ask whoever stays there to text u about their stay..😊
I get what your saying but if anyone is hiking and comes across this fort they would be trespassing on private property.
looks like good video but don't care for silent no talking films. had enough silent movies when a youngster, don.t mean constant chatter but some explaining what you are doing and making , good luck and bless you for sharing
should speak in ur vids theyre good already but would make it so much better
I do speak in most of them, I was trying something different with these videos and they had a very good response. I appreciate the input and thanks for watching
@@NatureBound ah right my bad mate still enjoyed it though dont get me wrong very good vid

NICE VIDEO
f*ckin fantastic. I was getting tired of seeing videos all chopped up into teaser trailer length infomercials, so it was awesome to see a full length feature film that doesnt jump around scenes every few seconds. great build, immersive editing, and good sound recording. awesome shelter as well. one question: will the pine needle debris you used stop rain? the pine debris around Seattle does not repel any water, and actually seems to suck up moisture and piss it out the bottom.
Thank you for the kind works that means a great deal to me :). as far as the pine needles they aren't 100% but they work pretty good. I lined the roof area where i'm going to be sleeping with birch bark, kept everything out so far.
Yes, F*cking is always fantastic !

Thank you very much
Nice build.
It would last much longer if you debark all the wood. Now it will eventually rot, causing you to rebuild or neglect it.
Hey there ! Can you tell me name of that saw ?

What is that you are boiling and empty into the thermes!!
You are very telented, clever and smart!

Dam mosquito's are annoying even hearing then in a video makes me swipe at my ears lol
Outstanding, can’t believe I watched that all in sitting. Really enjoyed watching the video. How long, in real time, did that take ? 👍. Oh, and what was with the can of Sap you took from the base of the tree. I noticed it bubbling away on the fire and then I missed what you did with it. What plant did you use for making tea ? 🇬🇧
In real time with filming and building probably 20 hours. You don't get much done before you have to move the camera again. Then to edit the videos took several more hours. The can of sap was just an experiment, it was sap from a cherry tree, the entire tree was pussing sap all the way around, all the way to the top. I boiled the sap down to see if it was usable as it was my first time trying to boil down cherry sap, but it didn't even get the slight bit sticky. The tea was made from dried Sweet Fern leaves. Thanks for watching John, its greatly appreciated :)
this video is fake, all he does is on his own plot of land near his house. in Canada, you are deceitful of the right to all this, here all are private territories or state ones and a person has no right to do so.
There is a flower the flower was yellow a bit red.. if you bake or fried it's tasted similar with meat..the trees similar with pineapple trees but it's tall ..go over head..it's hard to get the flowers .. and flower only can have 1 ..but with many petals ..that's petal tastes like meat ..idk what the name in English ..only local names..and it's only growth in tropical island ..local ussualy cooked it with salads..there is many weird trees if you go deep in tropical jungle..rainbow tree..walking tree ..around rainbow trees you kinda smell nice .and insect didn't go around the tree even mosquitoes..walking tree in 1 years probably it can walked about 1 meters..it's slow they walked to seek sunlight..I believed in the west also got weird and unique trees too..
Vlad Abadenskiy : How is it fake? Am i not outside doing it? Yes I"m on my own property out in the woods. I wouldn't do this on public land and ruin that land for everyone else. Your mindset is backwards and people like you ruin natural spaces that everyone else are going to use and admire. I do this on private property where nobody is going to see my mess.
There are signs of Sasquatch in that there woods!!
Beautiful ❤️ colors!
Awesome chair 👌!
Awesome shelter
Hi nice to see you again!!

Oh you had a chair!!
Good shelter and I really like your chair. Merry Christmas.
absolute true bush crafting. great work and amazing video
For sure I love his x wife’s stainless steel made I. The woods cooking pot 👀😂
Oz Walks : Based on this comment you must not like your ex wife very much, seems you have your ex wife your mind. If this is how you treat people you've never met before I'm guessing she's long gone. You try to ridicule me because I take care and clean my stuff after I use it. lmao.
A little chit chat would go along way to make this more entertaining IMO .
But then it cant be silent bushcraft.
I disagree
@@NatureBound why does it have to be silent? even squirrels talk in the forest
@@NatureBound silence is golden, love your work
Love watching such shows. Hope you'll return to re-use what you have built regularly. Otherwise that is a lot of wood wasted just to satisfy 1 person's desire to DIY some toys just for a short stay. The nature & environment belongs to not just 1 or 2 persons, but all of us. Bringing a tent would be better actually.
Well its my property so if anyone else is using it they're trespassing. I wouldn't do this on public land. That pile of sticks will be long gone and rotted into the ground before any tent I purchase ever could be.
@@NatureBound If this is your own property entirely, there is no issue.
Are those skeeters wearing microphones? Good vid, man ;-{)
Hello nice to see you again question? Why do you not make a chair to sit on?
In what way is that shelter warm?
it blocks the wind and you can put a fire outside the door.
Voa
Make sure don’t cut the young fresh trees 🌲.
Save the Nature . But If U want to...it’s Ur Ri..

it's a red pine managed forest. the red maple tree will eventually come down in the future anyways. You ridicule me as you type your message from an oil made device that had millions of trees stripped from the earth just to get the oil to make your device , while sitting in a wooden chair, at a wooden table sitting in a wooden house. Humble yourself Luigui

Hey, im interested in bushcrafting in scandinavic area (norway sweden) and i want to build a little cabin house there. is this allowed without permission? and so if, where is this allowed? im looking for areas with almost no people around.
thanks in prefferance! Regards, Jesse
I live in Canada. I'm not sure of the laws in Sweden.
@@NatureBound so in Canada this it allowed? Or only specific places?
@@jesseroeleveld5430 In Canada we can use Crown land to do stuff like this, or private property with permission from land owner. So in Canada, yes, this is allowed.
