In this video, I closed the front of the A-frame of the shelter and rolled the door, assembled the outer stone oven and cut a large trough out of a fallen birch tree. Gathered fresh mushrooms and made risotto. From lingonberries and blueberries - I baked a delicious berry pie in my stone oven.

But the main task was to make a good stone outdoor oven with an air heating system. And it turned out well - clean air warms up and enters the shelter. I think this heating will be enough to spend the night in shelter in the winter. Winter is coming and soon I will be able to check it :)

Smart way to heat inside without smoke. Looks snug, dry & warm. All I'd want to add is a a cover for the stove when it snows.

I was just wondering how the clay would stand up to weather? And if you had to let the clay dry before you fired up the oven? Reason I ask, is I've done a couple very small projects with clay before, and ive had to let them dry for a significant amount of time before firing or they cracked like crazy
OH BOY, when you took off running and jumped into the shelter from that hog, I about spit my drink up I laughed so hard!! AND that bowl you made was AMAZING!!!
I want you to know that I have watched others on BushCrafy however they are not you. I love the fact that really show how you do things,, all the way down to making your tea !! You are by far the favorite !!!

Absolutely love this! Great ideas for heating, and what an awesome stove system! I agree with all the comments... its hard to get away. Pinch your pennies and get some rural land. It took me 20 years to get back out to the country where I belong, but now I can finally breathe. No one around, just my family and nature! Thank you for the video!!!

You have to tote all those extras and tools in over time, if its a long hike in and out,well, needless to say it takes time. But this guy made a deluxe hide out for sure. Nice job picking an area with so many straight lodge poles growing everywhere you look. Having batch trees and a forest floor lined with moss, handy. I should do one showing how difficult it is to find such accommodating surroundings.

Great production value and some bushcrafting skills. I especially like the way he finds the Portland cement deposit in the humus of the coniferous forest floor. Lol. That or strangely very gray dirt.
it is a mixture of clay with mud and sand.
I was like, "someone else has to have noticed that right?"
It's just clay. The soil around my house has a high clay content, too, but it's red, not grey. Basically because it has high amounts of iron oxide in it, which turns it red. Clay is usually grey.
It's clay in the turn of a creek or edge of a river.. It's not Oregon.
